He Yi was the first Yellow Turban i played in the game... and damn he can become a Beast with his Bonuses.
Besides that, this game actually made me wish that we get more Yellow Turban Characters for Dynasty Warriors...
He Yi faction bonus is Dominion of He Yi which is 10% replenishment, recruitment cost reduction based on population, and -10% corruption
wow just tried it 194 he yi, using He Man guarding Nanyang jade mine by himself, killed a ton of Cao Cao’s generals include Xu Chu and Dian Wei and the top strategists. Just circle around the 3 towers at jade mine. (I destroyed Liu Biao faction got huang zhong’s bow, and Huang Zhu Factions first). i’m at healed. Kong Rong will buy all your Han gears if you can’t equip them lol for high costs form10 turns. Destroyed Cao Cao faction and destroyed the emperor at XuChang. He Yi is very fun, no need to worry about emperor favor for first time.

He Man also seems to be the best duelist in the game (even better than Zhao Yun) this is because he almost always has 100% melee evasion. I don’t know why or how it happens but every time I’ve been in battle against him he does and in my campaigns with him he often does as well.
He Yi’s faction bonus
I pre-ordered the game and started my first run with him. Nailed it the first try and done it so many times now. I really love three kingdoms and I'm so sad the game receives no more updates.
Seeing your peasant spam reminded me of the glory days of playing HoMM3 with the Necropolis. Level up your necromancy skill, gain more skeletons after each battle and demolish the other players. Once the game stops counting your stacks correctly, you're doing great lol

I always assumed that He Yi, and the Yellow Turbans as a whole, would be so hard to play. I have them, I think, because I preordered? I got the game AAAAGES ago and am trying to get back into it recently, so I've been watching lots of your content.
Hey man, I played the game with the 3 mods that add more factions and it drastically change the way the AI make moves, aside from a bunch of AI behavior in the campaign map mods. I heavily lean into more of campaign play so I will have to object to a few moves or rather suggest a better alternative:
1. Direct all early skillpoints available to all 3 special abilities of the characters I plan to use in battle. It really helps them to dictate the battle.
2. After I have that free kill with He Yi, I pull him to join with He Man
3. Autoresolve He Man with the initial battle with Huang Zu. The reasoning is that if I left that general alive with the manual battle, the next turn he will use that same general to besiege that very same settlement I just claimed and forced march Huang Zu's main army up. I tried fighting that battle afterwards and it's not pretty.
4. Place one arm as bait and the other as ambush. Usually I pick He Man for his Hail of Arrows.
5. After winning that ambush ( or attempt to ), I use He Man to besiege the last settlement of Huang Zu and fight any possible manual battle and claim the commandery. I might use He Yi to assist him as optional. If the autoresolve predict Close Victory, take it.
6. I spare Cai Mao as a weak buffer between Liu Biao and Sun Jian. I'm exposing myself with a 3rd front if I take his land.
7. Hire Guo Da into He Yi's army and rush back to the Iron Mine. I'll pull He Man to assist after he finished taking the whole commandery. Liu Biao can march there really fast so this largely depends on how successful and efficient He Man is.
8. I refrain from hiring the initial YTR characters on the pool at the first 5-10 turns. Usually, it's better to hire all of them if I play as Huang Shao. The majority of them have skills regarding to increase farming/commerce income as well as reduce construction cost and upkeep. As He Yi, I might just focus on the latter with occasionally recruit 1 of the former.
I'd like to see a new 190 He Yi start on how you would incorporate this. It'd be really if you can open with taking Jiangxia and defending the Iron Mine successfully.

I wish there were unit comparison videos. I keep finding myself going back to yuan shao for his crossbows

Do you have video explaining in detail different between difficulties in this game? You know it is hard to find it even after googling around! Seems you know it very well.
I don't remember the exact numbers since I has been a long time since I looked into it. It is mainly how much (by percent) the AI cheat on cost and how certain mechanics like archers not targeting generals, and how aggressive they are in diplomacy. I also don't get to experience it much since I am in legendary all the time, so I probably don't know it well.
by taking the port town not only is it free land you can ue your trade deal with huang shao as well as i jut found out then next turn you move your army back to the farm as liu biao will capture it and then he'll come to you lol

Yes the port is the best play! But I needed to show that your army can beat Liu Biao to prove a point for this guide
I just play this game for a few months nths, and since I learn Thai language, I'm certain that most Thai players know this guy in another name. The name you shall not say.

There is a mod that allows you to capture and hire enemy general's as the Yellow Turban. Do you think that is okay? Or game breaking?

@@SeriousTrivia Definitely feels like a decision influenced by the Warhammer games, the only other ones with unique leaders as units, but the factions here aren't different species, so it doesn't make as much sense.
What does the character on He Yi's flag mean? It's similar to the Japanese character へ "he" but from what I know the Chinese character it is derived from is 部 which in Mandarin is "bù"

They already said that the support for the game has ended so yes 1.7.1 is officially the final patch

I didn't like the way you use them, i wanted to see more strategy than one general fight whole liu bei army, what you show in yuan shu was so exceptional, and i wish see something like that here too, but really thanks for your video👍
Sadly yellow turbans really doesn’t have a lot of mechanics to do interesting stuff since they lack most of the diplomatic options
Why not build the population growth + public order building? I understand that it means one less economy building slot but at the same time it significantly speeds up the growth of the settlement with construction time reduction + build several buildings at the same time and also gives income from all sources or food production bonus on top of it. And since his building also provides public order then it negates the public order issue that comes with growing population.
Define significantly? One million population is 1 extra building slot. Let’s say you get a 20K population growth building. That’s 50 turns to gain one building slot only to tear this building down in the late game for more income. Can you build the buildings you wanted one at a time at a faster pace just in those 50 turns?
@@SeriousTrivia I was thinking of doing a population focused campaign where I combine He Yi-s building with the labour building. First to get the 2 population techs early. One gives 3k additional growth, other one gives access to lvl 4 population buildings. At level 4 both these buildings give give 49k growth combined + there's also 3k from reforms, and 8k from characters at the beginning. So theoretically it would take a lot less than 50 turns although at the cost of lower income in the beginning. After a million I guess I'd switch the unique building with a temple for PO and income from all sources.

Unless you plan on going tall, it better to take the early income. Since that gives you more armies and thus more expansion, but I think your approach probably works fine for a tall and defensive approach
@@SeriousTrivia Yea that is how I play most of the time although it's nice to try different strategies every now and then and try to play to the faction's supposed strengths. Oh well I guess I'll just see how it goes. Thanks for the input!

Yes I am doing these pretty much in order of dlc releases so everyone will eventually get their turn
