I bought my coffee plant 8 years ago, when it was about 4 inches high, and not even knowing what kind of a plant it was. Last year in the Spring, I noticed these red beans on the plant! I googled it and sure enough: it was a coffee plant! I have replanted it twice, and it is now 6 foot tall, having grwon 7 new stems and takes up the entire corner of my living room by the east facing window. I've always given it tap water; it does lose leaves here and there, but I'm not worried because it's such a huge plant-family now. lol I hardly fertilized it, but now that it's getting older, I'll definitely take better care of it. :)
I actually screeched when I saw the title, I've had a coffee plant for a few months and it's doing okay but I cannot get rid of the brown spots on the leaves! Thank you 🙏🙏🙏
i'm so glad u made this video bc ur right, there's not a lot of videos on coffee plant care as a house plant so I really appreciate it! i think the coffee plant is so so cute so it's definitely one that I will want to have in the future :)
I had my coffee plant in its original pot for a year and a half and it had been doing fine. Last november I decided to repot it, and now for the past few weeks it’s been looking brown and terrible. I went up 3-4 inches in pot size and I think that’s what did it. Also repotted during a cold month, rookie mistake! 😅 Thank you so much for this video! I’m hoping I can save it.
Well thank you! I live in a moist, temperate climate, with frosts and long winters, and for 3 years I've been on a crash course learning how to grow everything I can here ~ including coffee. This winter, i put my 3 year old coffee plants into the green house over winter, and they are coming through ok, not once had I thought of bringing them inside... it's a much nicer idea, and the bathroom is perfect: humid warm, and sorely in need of some plants! I'll grow them on and enjoy them inside, then plant them into large pots in the green house I haven't built yet to fruit. I needed to see this video to formulate a plan, so thanks again :)
Thank you 🙏 for your time. My wife and I watched your video about our peace Lilly. And then I was given a coffee tree yesterday, so as I am trying to save it I came to RUclips. And low and behold here you are… so I’m hoping to learn about all the tips and tricks this guy may be missing.. thank you 🙏
I agree regarding the point about the soil. I bought standard indoor plant soil, 5L bag for less than one euro. And I see no difference whatsoever with my coffee plant growth. Just make sure that your pot has good drainage and if needed add some perlite to soil.
So glad I found this. Picked up a coffee plant recently and it was completely miss labeled I spent hours trying to figure out what it was and now I know lol
Thanks for these coffee plant tips! So detailed and handy 😊 I grew mine from seed and it’s finally starting to get to a good size and I’d like to keep it that way! Good tip about the pests too. Mine had a tiny caterpillar munching it recently so you never know! 😅
This might blow your mind, coffee grounds are a great source of nitrogen, It's recommended to use pre brewed ones though to reduce the risk of caffeine stunting growth
I don't even have this plant, I just found this interesting. Thank you for the background info on coffee plants in the beginning of the video! Also, love your style ✌
Oh my god! Finally a video I can rely on! My coffee plant is literally doing so badly, kinda desperate to save it! So thank you for putting this up! You go girl!
i have mine under a 660 watt High Pressure Sodium with No Problem, it Hated more than a couple hours in the summer sun though. Informative Video, Thank You.
Thanks for this video! I’ve been noticing some brown leaves and I even lost some leaves 😢 and I think it must be the tap water then! I’ll give it a try with the distilled water.
I just bought a coffee plant from a local store and there were 5 separate plants. I separated them out and put each in it's own container. I noticed that you have several in the same container, just as mine came from the store. I am wondering if I should have left them all together, or will they be fine separated? Is there a benefit to keeping them together?
HII! I have a question. Is it okay to water the plant with rain water? I heard that plants love rain water but this one has sensitive roots so I would like to know it it’s okay for the plant.
I've had a coffee plant for quite a while now. I'm a bit concerned if it's still alive 😅 Watching this I definitely think I've got it in too big of a pot but oh well gotta live and learn. Definitely going to try distilled water and getting more humidity
Thank you for posting this💚 My coffee plant was so lush when i bought it, but it’s literally soooo thirsty so it lost a bunch of bottom leaves and now it’s bald at the stems... i kinda wanna chop down the whole thing to see if it comes back fuller but idk if its that kind of plant
What if my coffee tree it’s in a way bigger pot ? Which number would you recommend with the moisture meter? And how deep would you stick it into the soil.
I have a baby coffee plant that has been failing to thrive since I got it about a year ago. I was going to give up on it, but yours is so pretty! I'm going to give him another summer to try to take off. Where do you get your white terracotta?
Hi I just purchased a small Aribica Coffeee plant and I accidentally froze it....ughhh. Anyway do you have any ideas on how to bring it back, the stems and stock seems fine, however the leaves went droopy . Also do I give it fertilizer to try brining it back or is this just a time issue? Thanks!! :)
I have some questions for my coffee plant...i do the watering with carbonated water, is it good for the plant? Also I put a Plastic bottle around it for humidity!
im in NH and of course it's winter now. my coworker just gifted me one of his coffee plants and i adore it but i am so afraid i will kill the precious little thing. right now i have it on the plants table up against my big glass sliding door in an East/South direction. but we still go in and out that sliding door thru the winter. im worried the cold draft could bother it but ive always had plants on that table and they like it, i even have some 'desert' plants there. i wish i had room to maybe put the coffee plant in the bathroom, would that be a nice place since it gets very humid in there..?? i have other locations i could use. but also the sun is so low now in the winter and we have tall pine trees often blocking much of the low sun, so i think in the winter it definitely needs to be closer to a window. i have an east/south window in a room with no drafts where a couple plants already are. i been thinking of that as an option, but i often keep that entire floor on the cooler side to save money in winter. some of the leaves are still browned and crispy on the edges and most of the older 'trucks' seem to be splitting vertically like theres a water issue or something...? 😫 please dont die little plant
I have 3 plants that are (were) easy to grow. I have had them for about 5 years. I say "were" because the smallest one decided to just die. LoL. I keep hoping it will sprout new leaves since there are none left but no signs in over a month.
Question if I want to put in some new dirt in my coffee plant can I cut some of the roots to open up more space? My plant is about 5 feet tall and it also has some white gooey stuff going on it I’ve tried using vinegar it goes away for a bit but then it comes back. Help 🙏🏻
How do you fix a stemy plant? I have 2 I separated but now they are stemy but growing new leaves. Kinda reminds me of a mini palm tree. Any info please
All my stem roots died...I have 2 stems left and they are so far surviving, and growing finally leaves, I had to move it to the window...against the sun, when it was on a table 1m away of the window. But the leaves never droop, it just turned brown, so that's why I never knew if it need it water, even after touching the soil... The rest of the stems I tried to put it in the water to see if roots would grow again but it failed. Now I downsized the plant to a small nursery
I moved a few weeks ago. My Arabica plant was in a box. I searched high and low for the plant. I found it weeks later! Dry. Bone dry. I am trying to revive it. I have never done this before. Do you think I can save her? Any suggestions?
@@monicasmm I tried. It was just too far gone. RIP. I feel horrible for having killed it. Now I am trying to find another. My plant section has so many money trees right now. No Arabica. I will find one soon.
My arabica was doing so well and then its leaves dried and wilted. I've always kept it moist (not overwatering) and gave it bright indirect light. Watered it weekly but missed a week b/c I wasn't home. Is there any way to revive it or do I need to prune it down and hope for new growth? Not sure how much I need to cut back. Thanks for any tips.

What about bottled R/O water in place of tap water?

This may sound cannibalistic, but coffee plants love used coffee grinds. Brewed grinds make a great fertilizer.
Oooooh so this is why my tip of leaves are burned. Its because i dont use distilted water.

Hi there. My 10 YO coffee plant has been declining badly. Limp leaves, brown spots and stunted new growth. Any suggestions?
Hello I have a baby Arabica coffee plant but it came with 8 to 10 legs..
Do they all come this way or do you think I have more than one in this pot?

Use a normal Terra-cotta pot but the white powdery stuff formed near my coffea so I put it in a Ceramic pot
How do you fix a stemy plant? I have 2 I separated but now they are stemy but growing new leaves. Kinda reminds me of a mini palm tree. Any info please

I bought a tiny plant of these at Home Depot and want to transfer it to a bigger pot. Can I use a ceramic pot with no holes underneath for drainage?
No. All plants need drainage’
Which pests did you have on this plant?
I just dip my index finger in the soil to check the soil for moisture level.
that's a valid way to do it! i just prefer the moisture meter
Hey where do you get your white terra-cotta pots
My baby is dying I don't know what to do. I leave in new york and we are in winter rn! What can I do

If a plant gets very light colored leaves, where you can kinda see “veins”, what could that be a sign off?
if i am picturing this correctly, probably a nutrient deficiency or too much light
