It really isn't difficult to drive like this.
I don't quite understand what you are getting at. All of our cars are at least 20 years old and they quite happily sit at max speed. I service them regularly and change parts like bushings, fluids and brakes prematurely. No reason to be more scared than in a new car. On the contrary, I had an E220CDI hybrid as a rental car for a week and used it to drive through Germany from Hamburg to Austria. And above 180km/h it feels unstable, squishy and unsecure. My 2002 4.2 A6 Avant cruises comfortably at 250 and still feels more planted than this 2000km old Benz.

@@bart78 eigentlich soll er "nur 209 km/h "schnell sein. Im video sieht es schneller aus wie bei meinem Slk 280 mit 231 PS.

Wir haben rechts Fahrgebot. Wenn die Spur frei ist muss man rechts rüber. Ich denke das er für 150 PS zu schnell ist. Ein 2,8 ltr. mit 174 PS würde vielleicht so schnell sein.
Ist aber auch egal. Ein Auto zum genießen.

@@inspanienfruhkolsch2995 Ich hatte den A4 B5 als quattro mit dem 2.6er V6, der geht nicht ganz so gut wegen dem Gewicht. Aber das B4 Cabrio ist da schon sportlicher. Das was da zu sehen ist passt m. E. schon zum 2.6er

Ich hatte damals 3 A6 und einen 80er Avant mit dem 2.6er. Toller Sound, guter Durchzug und nie technische Probleme. 😌👍
Das einzige, was genervt hat, war die Verklebung des Dachhimmels und der Türtafeln. 😅
Habe gehört, dass die echt undicht sind. Stimmt das?

Ohhh my first car love. Owned two. This one and the 2000 TDI last edition. Loved this car despite all it's problems. Tiny 433cc cylinders and square engine ! Funny tho i did also 240kph with my bmw motorcycle r 1200r with 106 hp 1200cc flat twin boxer engine in the autobahn (223 real km/h)

And the V6 (abc engine code) is a very faithful, dependable machine. I also like that this car for such an old convertible produces an absolutely tolerable interior noise at such high speeds.
I had an A4 B5 Avant Quattro with the ABC engine. In the end the car has just disintegrated around the ABC engine and the Quattro drive.
It had such a fine engine note and such a sweet torque delivery, the engine and drivetrain of a real driver's car. I miss it.
The next hobby car underway is a A4 B6 3.0 V6 Avant Quattro with ASN engine.

1999??, looks like a 80' car... The best car I've was Renault Laguna 1995 (2.0), probably at half of the price of this car, and I drove it at 200Km/h, don't dare more because it was in a route in Argentina and the speed limit is 130Km/h.
155mph from a car nearly 25 years old!! Impressive
Max. speed reached was slightly above 240 km/h, equating to 150 mph. That speed was reached in what seemed like a slight downhill though. Also you'd have to account for speedometer deviation, which at those speeds can be as much as ~15-20 km/h or ~10 mph. Somewhere between 135 and 140 mph real top speed sounds about realistic.

It surprises me how well this car sounds and how fast it runs, considering its rather low power output and its likely not that good drag coefficient as a convertible.
I think that naturally aspirated petrol entones sound very good and these older cars may not get as much power but they are fast enough.

The build quality on this was way superior than the E36 series convertible.
I don’t know if it’s bad but it’s certainly the ugliest.

Какая же культура вождения у немцев! Класс! У нас в России такую скорость не развить нигде по той причине, что, во-первых, таких идеальных дорог нет, а во-вторых, так дисциплинированно естественно никто не ездит. Нам конечно далеко до немцев в этом плане, да и вообще в любом плане мы и рядом не стоим с Германией!

Factory declares 209 km/h. Downhill doing job. Btw tachometer always shows more speed, but real speed is lower.
Заявленная заводская скорость, это для прямой передачи, а прямая передача у всех машин это 4 передача, и на ней при максимальных оборотах двигателя машина развивает 209 км ч. А на пятой передаче, возможности больше.

This car is far from 1999y, the standard A4 which is succesor of this car came out in 1994, so this car is maybe from 1989y. 2001 came b7 model or second generation of a4 ;)
