He has been singing since early childhood and training since 5 years in academies and schools, has a Master’s Degree in composition, is studying for a Doctor’s degree in something else musical, and so he makes every song his own. Lyrics were first given to it in 1995, for a operatic crossover album for the popular tenor Jose Carreras, who sang it in Italian, with the arrangements sticking close to the original composition. The following year, Belgian songstress Lara Fabian put her own, English lyrics to it and did great justice to this gorgeous melody, making it her own, with very much more modern riffs and phrasing. Dimash sang this rendition in this competition, since her version has become the standard modern vocal version of this classical gem.
