Sonor made a large, brass snare drum back in the 80’s. The drummer for Iron Maiden used to use it.

I don't have years of experience with machining brass parts, but I've got a habit of chamfering threaded holes before I cut or roll the thread.

I find it interesting that he wants the lugs - which accept the bolts that hold the heads on - machined right into the shell. It'll be pretty, and the lack of bolts through the shell to hold the lugs on should change the instrument's resonance for the better.
But DAMN that's gonna be a low-pitched snare drum!
Word of warning before you start: The most critical thing on a drum are the top and bottom edges of the shell. These are called bearing edges, because they bear the pressure of the head. They completely affect the sound of the instrument, so they've got to be perfect. What you'll want to do after you cut them is get David into the shop to mount heads on the drum and play it...expect to be putting this shell back in the mill at least once and maybe twice to alter the edges.

We always spread them out over time… some want to see each video in a series quickly…
But most want to see new things and see the series over time. Which affects the overall views. So we film
and spread them out which allows each to do well.
