Thank you, Chuck! I am not in the market for a tool that you demoed but it was still very nice to watch your thorough analysis. One thing did not come across for me was which product did you like better? For some reason, I think it was the XTOOL, no?
Yo Andrei, Always a pleasure to have you for a visit. lol When it comes to product test & evaluations I really don’t like saying which one is “best” or which one I like better, because it all comes down to the specific application of the user, and of course their budget. So I try to remain impartial and just highlight to the Pro & Cons of each device so the viewer can make an informed decision. -Chuck
Hey, thanks for the shout out and the link to my video, Chuck! Another well put together video full of good information. These scan tools seem to keep getting better with every version they make. I agree, buying an update really does not make sense. Unless you're working on BRAND NEW cars all the time, there really is no need to have the most current software.... and by the time you really DO need the new updates, it will probably be time for new hardware, too. Just like our modern smart phones.... I try to keep mine as long as I can but usually I get two years out of a smartphone before it physically needs to be replaced for various reasons. Same would be true with a scan tool. Nothing lasts forever. And honestly, scan tool manufacturers want to sell new tools, not just software updates. And I suspect that is partially why updates are priced like they are.... to promote new scan tool sales. Good video, Sir! 🙂
Yo Brian, 6:41 I can't believe you made it that far into my boring Ben Stein monotone presentation, that's a real compliment coming from you. Lol To be completely honest I, “phoned this one in” and did not prepare as much research as I did on the IP819. I kinda just winged this one. Lol I’m still using my original iPhone SE 2016. That’s it resting on the steering wheel. But in 2021 Apple stopped support for curtain APPs, (including RUclips). So I begrudgingly bought the iPhone SE 2020 on black friday for $199 November 2021. Five months later, when Apple released the 3rd Gen iPhone SE my 2020 version started acting “buggy” Ahhhhhhhhhh! I still have an 80’s Sony Walkman, and Boombox that still work. Don’t get me started on consumer electronics going down hill since the Reagan Administration. Lol -Chuck

Right on Chris, Thanks for stopping in, and the great question. You should be able to change the 24 Hour Clock (military time) to 12 Hour Clock (am/pm) in the tablet settings. @@chris18228 Thanks for the confirmation. It looks like the scan tool might need a firmware update. If they don't treat you right, and you're within the Amazon 30-day return period I would say return it, and try a different scan tool company. -Chuck
