If you "want", you'll never realize you're nothingness. Ego always wants. No enlightened wants anything. They desire nothing. How can nothingness want anything? It can't.
Joseph Bronson Agreed. Probably my number one Alan Watts video and I have many in the list. There is something liberating about this mental exercise which is all it is. The thought was always there to go deep within but the fear of death prevents many of us from inquiring.
You should waatch alan watts - Choice, that video is even more beautiful, ive always had a hard time caring too much about myself and what other people think of me, thanks to allan watts I feel that way less since I know there is no self in the first place.

And of the ideas of Schopenhauer who was influenced by Kant's metaphysical views. I had to listen to this twice because I’m so stoned watching this it’s like literally two universes against each other but in the end it’s all nothingness

Jeroen M Hi, What i dont get is ...how xan it be terrifying to the real me without ego there ?? Does that mean the "Atman" or aspect of Brahman is afraid of this Nothingness ?
Is it possible I got conscious of the truth nothingness without 5meodmt I didn’t even meditate I was simply taking a shower and had a deep realization so deep that I can’t complete this phrase I was alone for months because of corona alone in my room and every night would stay like 20-30 min closing my eyes and closing the door and just being silent and at some point the truth came p.s I’m 25 and I like vagina
I couldn't imagine the horror of being consciously aware in this one relatively small Human mind throughout all of eternity. There is great power in nothing because everything came from it. Just imagine the instant conscious thought ends there it is again in another form all through the power of nothing.
Regardless of everything being nothing, and life and death being the same, it doesn't matter to me. All I know is that I will die, and I just don't want to die. That's all. I don't care how you explain it as "everything" and "the same", I don't care, I just wanna stay alive
@@cooking6903 I am a completely different person than I was when I wrote that ridiculous comment. Do you want my answer as I would answer it at the time of my comment, or now?
Horror? Comes froms from fear, it's calm and neutral realizing you're nothingness. Though the process to that is hell. Those enlightened are aware of this.
I've been on a journey finding what is the ultimate reality and how its logic works, I read books, meditated, tried hallucinating drugs, watched videos and I was inside of my mind for too long thinking what the fuck is reality? why am I here? and what it's like to die? and after that, I realized I was in a total emptiness I lose interest on everything I don't even have emotion I feel like I'm ready to die after learning the reality perhaps the ultimate reality is emptiness. After I stop learning reality I feel like I'm born again the emptiness I feel was filled little by little I gain interest on things I became happy again and I'm back from the journey and all I found is nothing/void/emptiness but that nothingness gives me a power to decide what to put in it and that's what I've learned from the journey I've been to.
To me God equals the underlying principles of which the universe is built. Because the rules of which were either there initially or had to be learned. Either scenario is scientifical. The universe that is, God the creator.
+Thomas David Do you mean the underlying principles out of which the universe grew? And quantum physics is shifting our idea about the certainty of underlying principles, we are now doubting if the spacetime is fundamental or emergent from quantum states.
+Gray Day bravo !! Nothingness cannot create somethingness .. the fact that we are here, now .. is proof that we had to be created by Something that simply was there .. always ..
Billy Boye You've contradicted yourself friend. You posit that there was something that was always there, and that something cannot come from nothing. To show you the contradiction in this statement, I will ask you a simple question: What came before this something that was always there? I think you'll find that, if something has always been here, 'nothing' can have come before it. Your argument only makes sense if you are thinking of 'nothing' as a state which has a duration.
Maybe your perception Is contradictory Mad Hatter .. and thats ok .. the road to all leads to 1 .. you are free to be just you .. As for my statement .. : Maybe that "Something" is everything .. and everything to come .. infinitely .. Fyi, you say my "argument" ? Truth is .. simply .. without our agreeing .. without our believing it .. it is .. simply .. love and respect to you
Ive listened to this like 10 times and broke out crying, smiling, and giggling about 3 or 4 times. So beautiful and great and amazing it all is if you can see what this is pointing at. Its literally what you are. Namaste 👍🏻😁👍🏻
"To grasp what it means to exist, one needs to grasp the fact that he might not exist, that he treads at every moment on the sharp edge of possible annihilation and can never escape the fact that death will arrive at some unknown moment in the future." - Rollo May
Thank you Alan Watts.I feel healed from depression with this way of thinking.Nearly died from depression, from my fake ego, from way of thinking of matters and living.Nothingness make me feel released from worry of living.Nothing matters at all...
Nothing may seem scary to us But even fear doesn’t exist here And when u realise it, it’s the most enlightened thing our mind can achieve and it makes ur mind calm cause it is experiencing the reality
If you have no one, then no one can hurt you (from a katatonia song), except yourself of course. But you are much more capable of forgiving yourself over time. Seeing beauty is one thing, like a woman or man you are truly mad for at the time, when you pick the flower the beauty becomes yours briefly then fades away (some proverb idk), you shouldn't always seek to personally possess the beauty of the universe, but capture it in other ways, keep the flow of beauty going and the light cuts trough the darkness seemingly propelled forwards by bouncing off of this pale black nothingness. Once you accept the concepts of the abyss and death in general, it stops having that control over you, that fear. I remember being afraid to run in the dark, but I forced myself to go without a light source and run through wooded trails at 2AM with scarcely more than dilapidated moonlight on a good night. Later on it became the most soothing and beautiful experience to me after the initial fright. It was a secluded valley, an escape I could feasibly call my own, and not only in dream. The moon gave depth to everything and the darkness was resolute yet welcoming, it was the dream I wanted to be a part of. Prior to this I would stare at the moon for long periods of time, hoping to break reality somehow, just upset that I was stuck in this place with my mind bewildered with a deep sense of abandonment and grief. Later I tried acid a few times and felt absolutely vanquished like nothing mattered after all, and that I was the only one giving purpose to this unending tirade of nonsense in the first place. This may well be the truth, but if I am the only one giving purpose to this fate called life, why not try a bit harder to accept it and all that it entails... For what is heaven or hell if I remain the same, the mind can make a heaven of hell, a hell of heaven...(paradise lost paraphrased) I may be miserable, but there are still ways to escape society's cruel grasp and live within, but as you do so, you become a ghost in the tireless march of ants in a fog of an ever-encroaching materialistic cancer. When I drive by cemeteries, I merely think of how I am not doing anything worthwhile myself, why am I still doing this, and I think of how my friend has been under that same soil for over 9 years, and was just like me, nerdy but with a sense of humor, eager to see out life in a unique way. I've learned to accept that all my hard work is meaningless, and that I simply don't have the tools to just exist any way I choose. Not even dreams are that satisfying anymore, they are bizarre but a mad reflection of life picked up from the electrical impulses of the brain, which sounds alot like a simulated feature... The perception of time is hilariously altered by drugs, the passage of time during a work day seems to be changed by your state of mind on any given day, nothing seems to make sense. Aging seems unreal, the fact that we are loosely strung together with many vital organs all working in unison...evolved from, and still acting like simple animals... but why do I feel apart from this? Is it pure luxury to be lost in thought, is it illness to be torn apart at the seams in a comfortable part of the world? Fuck if I know, but being in a coma sounds good as long as you never wake up. The idea of losing consciousness isn't that bad of a concept, it's losing identify and all progress, desires and woes, fighting through the storm to become who you are, pushing away so many possibilities and alternate realities just to have options... for nothing, while time still flies by regardless? What a tragedy. If you reverse the statement "without death, life would have no meaning" You get "without life, death would have no meaning" which makes no sense at first. But if you think of everything as a pure form of death (a word we stick to nothingness) you see that, without our observation in flesh of what is around us, the grand mechanism of life and space around us has no meaning indeed, so fuck it, let's experience this life and give the great death some meaning after all, even if it is all inside our heads. Maybe we were a pure form of consciousness in a vast empty space, and we invented a life for ourself temporarily to become part of, as a child we were clumsy still figuring it all out and we allowed ourselves to full commit to this experience, we had long forgotten the god being we were before, but society as a whole tried to paint the picture in many different ways, all very similar but with different oral stories passed down region to region. We have become too involved in this body and not enough with the state of mind that once had power of all, but without this body, we could not fully appreciate it. I'm just letting stream of consciousness kick in, see where it got me. Not very far, forsooth... Oh well
It is so beautiful im glad i am nothing 😊 😊 😊 i dont have anything. all i do is work&drink water&sleep.life is way too short for anything.i have failed in life but it makes me happy because nothingness is perfect 😊
"As the walls of reality that we create for ourselves crumble and fall away there it is only one truth, and it is nothing". - Said by no one. (Finally peace for an unquiet mind. Love it).
So powerfully freeing! It took my serious health crisis to be pushed to this realization, but I could have never described it like this man. I’ve been trying to explain it to my wife without success, so perhaps this will video help her to understand?
I love this so much! Deeper than atoms and quantum's is nothing and the crazy thing is nothingness creates everything. They say "Nothing Matters" but it's more that nothing is all that matters. A constant relationship between nothing and matter, constantly creating connected as one.
Thanks for posting this, very well made as always :-) Great lecture on nothingness/emptiness, though I guess it can be hard to grasp if you haven't already been learning about this principle. But Alan Watts can always make you feel it. :-) Mindful greetings, Simple Happy Zen
Its as simple as if all sound has silence that precedes it and there must be silence for there to be sound, then the same goes for existence. Somethingness is the expression of nothingness. Sounds are held within silence, they come from it, they are of it. Even looking at space there is clearly so much nothing holding such little something
Nonsense..... Sound is vibration vibration is frequency and frequency is energy. Energy is something not nothing. Silence is the absence of sound not the originator of sound.
In a scientific context yes silence seems to be the absence of sound, it’s actually all sounds out together and therefore the origin and the end, silence that would be. You got sound is energy, but there’s one thing that is higher than energy, for those who know so experiential silence is time
@@bryanbarrera9496?? How can all sound be no sound? You're not making sense. Sound is sound. I agree there is something higher than energy but energy to this day can't be defined. Where it comes from scientists don't know. Maybe it is not metaphysical in nature but it is connected to a metaphysical source. Energy is centred and focussed meaning it is deliberate in its form whatever form it takes. The concept of intention can only occur with consciousness. A mind and a being behind everything we know and even don't know.
There's no such thing as nothingness, that might be the whole reason there is such thing as something, because of the fact that you cant experience nothing meaning you'll always be experiencing something
true, but in order for something to be experienced there needs to be the other side of thr coin, nothingness, so something can be there just as much as you wouldn't know what day is without the night as it's counterpart. something dances with nothing and day dances with night, they can't be if the other part is not there.
Silence I think of nothingness as so nothing that it doesnt even exist, not as an idea or even a concept that is the "other side" of something, which is why there is existence
MahaSamadi .... The Absolute.... Being as Unconditional Love in the infinite realm of Peace. No things manifest yet Christ Consciousness mirrored back through manifestation as creating/being and knowing peace and unconditional love in life. If one ‘experiences’ this , the only ‘thing’ afraid is the ego and will be stripped down in the enlightenment of Knowing thy real Self (and all others as that).
clusternest Yes. There *_IS_* answer. ***** I would explain this to you, if you want. Books and stuff only gave me a misunderstanding of Emptiness, the Ultimate Reality. Only by experiencing Emptiness I've got enough understanding of it. So perhaps you'd like to experience it yourself.
You are simply the universe aware of itself. There is no "you" separate from the universe you are it. And it is all that there is. And it was here since the big bang and will be here for a very long time, scientists think forever, therefore you were born at the big bang and will never die.
Nothing is just a word we use to describe the blankness or seeming emptiness that separates "something" from "nothing". The nature in which there cannot be something without the absence of it as well dictates that both something and nothing go together. They're one unified concept. There then becomes no distinction between something and nothing. Due to there being no distinction between something and nothing, and knowing that they both go together also dictates that there should be no words for distinction, because words are primarily used for distinction. Due to there being no words for distinction and the concept that all of reality is one unity there is then no word for nothing, it escapes all concepts. The nature of your reality defies a definition because you yourself are the one who evokes meaning from the universe. There are then no such things as categories and therefore the closest word we have to define that experience of "non-definition" is the word or concept "nothing" That's my take. Open to discussion.
I did meditation one time and it was amazing, I feel like everything was spinning around me and I felt so relaxed, like I was one with everything else…we are definitely not what we think we are
I am very fortunate to have completed just about everything I had set out to do. There are innumerable experiences and achievements I will never have or make, but that doesn't bug me. I am very happy with how my life has gone. Now, with likely more than half my life gone by, I look to the future and hope I remain healthy enough to enjoy a good quality of life until the singularity, or the undiscovered country.
I think...accepting that the understanding of all of whatever "this is (reality or whatever it is you call it) is far beyond our capacity, which makes me realize we never can, we don't have that capacity to "understand it". Which is fine, because then we just start to appreciate what is here. Plus even if we do or don't understand it, does it matter? It's going to continue like it always has
I’ll be honest, the song “Something” by azedia introduced me to Alan Watts as it uses this excerpt as part of the lyrics. There’s no one who sings it, rather it’s straight up Alan himself speaking these lines within the song. Anytime I’m depressed or down or feel like… ending it all so to speak, I listen to that song and now look up Alan Watts regularly.
Nothingness is where everything came from, you, me and everything. And that's why Nothing can be gone forever there will always be something in which is that special Nothing.
That which is, that is nothing in particular (actual), is by definition everything in general (potential). Being aware of nothing is still being aware - of being aware.
The void is Gods consciousness and we are God dreaming in 3d living stories, where we don't know how it all tends!!! Wow that makes sense......... That's why life so crazy!!!!
Some of these comments lol.ur missing the point completely. Basically in a nut shell: u cant die. Someone else will have the feeling of "I" as u do now. Its the same as u now its always now its always i am now. Dont worry about it if u cant understand keep listening to alan watts and make sure u actually listen. Listen more than once when u get it u will never be worried again about anything i promise (Well until u die and forgot everything and then u'll be scared of dying again coz u wont remember how u sussed it out last time haha its crazy)
If you are something you could only be one certain thing with one certain form and therefore youd be limited to those things, but if you believe your existence is limitless, that it is without boundaries then realize that it would have to be nothing to fit that description. Something could only be somewhere, only nothingness could be everywhere and everything at once
If you compare Divine Everythingness with Divine Everythingness, you come to a differential of nothing, but to compare Divine Everythingness with nothingness, you get a potential for Divine Everythingness to be expressed and experienced.
It sounds authentic, risk is the precursor of faith, functioning in the negation of oneself in a physical visceral sense, a 7 year old articulated it in a poem with the line "sand castle virtues" it encompasses in 3 words the premise of existentialist philosophy. Idk ?????? Anyone???
Wonderful video.. I love the idea that we created all of this out of thin air, which is actually true because you cannot deny half the stuff in your room wasn't found here on earth somebody had to have a thought come to them and then bring that thought to reality. In fact, the best thing about this video is that it has finally proved that we are all Gods.. We own this world and no one man shall have all that power.
If you know physics matter is formed by atoms atoms is a nucleus surrounded by a cloud of electrons popping in and out of existence but not even the center of the atoms is grounded in reality because it to vanishes and reappears. This universe is a paradox simultaneously here yet not here, all things existing yet not existing. We are here yet we are never just here, but somewhere else yet we are not there. For we only observe this but connotation determine what exactly is observing. Why is it that all we are pops in and out of existence yet we only observe this single frame? The concept of Nothing is an interesting one for we understand it without ever truly knowing what nothing is.
+Fist-of-doom Einsteins e=mc^2 also shows that what we call 'stuff' is really just energy behaving in a certain way. And in a paradoxical way, you know what nothing is by not knowing what it is, because there is nothing to know xD
we actually don't exist. if something came from nothing then the thing "came" is nothing. also if we are everything then it includes nothing in it. we are not even sure that past is past that actually happened or just inside our head.
I really like these videos you're making but if I could make one suggestion for when you're editing them. Try and find a section of clean background audio that's just the sound of the room ambience from Alan Watts' lecture. This is so between his soundbites the audio doesn't abruptly cut off and instead will sound like a more consistent flow of speech. It's just something I find that tiny bit distracting when listening to these videos.
I really like the sound of him speaking. It sounds like it's been recorded on a tape-recorder many years ago. There's just something about it that makes it brilliant! :)
1. First there was nothing(no perception) 2. Nothing didnt ''Know thy self'' 3.Everything was created(which is still nothing) 4. Everything fell to its lowest form bad(Stuck in disbelief) 5. The purpose of ''know thy self'' will always guide you to nothing 6. If you dont figure it out you will reincarnate 7. if you figure out i can do all. Everything is nothing but dont realize emotion limits you cause you have to have to have a polarity for you to be real you will be in the same spot. If you dont the cycle will repeat 8. Once you realize everything is nothing no emotion then you will beat the reincarnation cycle 9. It is inevitable you will have to realize your Nothing cause that is the true purpose 10. Perception can be anything (dogs flying) 11. Your perception may be telling you you want reality but that just means you dont understand your nothing cant be beat but realizing that your nothing means no good or bad 12. Inside nothing there is everything, it is just be percieved a way meaning it has no true definition but that it is truly nothing( No perception) 13. You might have a perception that you reincarnated before, really it is just your perception it was nothing the whole time nothing needed to know its self 14. Don't be fooled choice it dont matter its happening one way or another tell you lose perception
We always think that we need 'something' to create something . What if 'nothing' is the origin of everything . Like , you need 'the right ammount of nothingness to spark a chain reaction to kickstart a big bang .
if you create something out of nothing then nothing is something and nothing was never nothing at all....so it is the same with us...we exist so we can never be nothing. We are in fact something...how we live our lfe determines whether we are something wonderful or nothing at all
It's like let's say in after 150 years from now all the people living in this world right now say 7 billion of them won't exist , all shall be dead their happiness , sorrow , achievement, failures, emotions, passion, love , money, anger, ego , healthy , sickness, fight , all would turn into dust and add few more years nobody wouldn't even know we existed at all ....... that's called NOTHINGNESS
Yes but if there is a life after death...the people who are dead are in that life right now......so its not NOTHING for them........stop judging the unknown through your eyes and limited knowledge...
I do find comfort in this. I believe in heaven, possibly hell, and God, ect. But even so i feared death, i thought "what if im wrong, what if when i die its just nothing, a void." But why should that be feared, i dont know what nothing feels like for im aware im here and have no reference. So if when i die, it feels like before i was ever born why does it matter. Itll be nothing and i wont even be aware of it. But it makes living life the fullest all the more important because in the end all we have are memories and that how we live on. In the memories of others, so why not make them good.
Jay Bird I'm right here with you. Belief in heaven did not take away my fear of been trapped in a void of nothingness at death. I ran from this fear all my life. But now everything is different. You just need the courage to do into your spirituality. Doing so does not make you a denier of your faith. If anything it strengthens it. Let me know how you are doing. Michael
It won't affect us once we're gone but it is still a sad reality to be aware of while we're here, that one day everything we had ever known, loved and experienced will be erased forever from our perspective, and nothing will ever been seen, heard, felt, smelt, touched, tasted, or thought of again. We will never know what goes on for the rest of time...eternal, endless possibilities will have slipped from our grasp and there's not a single thing we can do about it....forever...
Well clearly there’s a link between nothingness and a state of being. That fully explains the ability “to come” from nothingness. After all, nothing can continue being nothing forever without any state of being coming to be. It’s silly to think something coming from nothing is a norm. It’s like thinking a cabin can come from a forest without a builder just because you didn’t see it being built. “Of course a cabin can come from the forest spontaneously- where else could it come from?”
Nitephall I disagree. There is so much peace to be found in what he shares. Like everything else timing is everything. When each of us are ready the message will be there to be heard.
Peter A. Unfortunately you can’t get much from 3 mins of audio of Alan Watts if you haven’t listened to him and don’t know much or anything about eastern philosophy. It’s nothing against your intellect. He has hundreds of hours of audio out there frequently takes his sweet time making a point among other hinderances. Anyone listening to this and pretending to understand anything he said who hasn’t listened to a lot of him, or again, knows a lot about eastern philosophy is just that - pretending. Aren’t we all though ;) (for those who do understand). Anyway, he’s an entertaining philosopher that brings about some interesting ideas. Not much else can be said without investigating for yourself.
Ok. I get it. Void cause when it comes into the Darkness it is laid claim to beings that exist in the dark. From the Eternal Light. I know so much about everything. Wow. I would make a great Professor. 1 hour lectures couldn’t be enough.
I used to try to get myself to believe this sort of tripe. But the one thing that I couldn't get past is the reality of my thoughts, and the deep seated conviction that life has to have some kind of meaning, or else the very word "meaning" would be meaningless. Yet we all have a sense that life has actual meaning, or at least it is MEANT to be meaningful. That led me to conclude that the ultimate reality is not nothing, but a person, a mind. Because if everything is really nothing, then I am really nothing, but I am not nothing if nothing else I am ME. But I did not create myself. Therefore I conclude that my perception that I am a real person has a basis in the actual existence of the Ultimate person - God, who created me. "In the beginning God created the heavens and the Earth". Gen 1:1.
^^^this guy gets it, and I totally agree with him. Everyone else who knocks him down for his convictions and opinion, move on. Because even Alan watts would've been happy for him, not bash him.
I believe there is one sure way to not becoming trapped in this depressive state of that you're nothing and that's what you'll ever be, and that is simply being remembered before you die over the course of history. No one can ever forget about Alexander The Great, Confucius, or Michael Jordan etc. because they still live on in people's heart and create emotions to people therefore they mean something to someone thus they're out of the void.
Sorry Bud, but me and everything ain’t “nothing.” We’re something. Maybe we came from “nothing” originally and when we’re gone, we go back to “nothing.” But we ain’t “nothing” right now. We are something - maybe just barely for a brief flicker of time, but yes we’re here, we live and we’re something in the face of an unimaginably vast and complex universe. We are. We live. We exist. We be something. Nothingness be damned.
When you dying is basically falling towards nothingness(But ask yourself when your dying starts?)since you can't hit nothingness it becomes eternal fall,so yeah you can relax and enjoy the ride, you can be everything you wanna be, if you wanna be a pink elephant in Jupiter be it, nothingness allows you,but for some reason we just love being humans. Nothingness implies everything, and vice versa, they can't exist without each other, and you perceive it as separation and oneness. In all monotheistic religions God is basically nothingness and also everythingness, alpha and omega, and they all teach to focus toward them or as they say to pray,as the only way to escape the illusion, that's why God exist but it's indescribable because he is nothing and everything at the same time
Death isn't real. It's an idea conceived by those seeking to control humans through fear. Living in the moment means to live forever. Living without fear in the moment means to never die.
I want to be nothing, no sense, no being, no object, no consciousness, just need eternal peace
If you "want", you'll never realize you're nothingness. Ego always wants. No enlightened wants anything. They desire nothing. How can nothingness want anything? It can't.
And you can be. If you realize, that nothing matters.
Mooji can help you realize you *are* That nothingness. ⚫️
That's what i want
Peace is a state of mind therefore there is no peace in nothingness. Only nothing.

@@kami2676 yes everything is possible because we are the everything and the no-thing
@@jeroenm6553 that’s some deep stuff how I can that stuff I would trip balls or panic
If someone would ask me: "If you could spend a day with 1 person, no matter who, who would you choose?" I would say Alan Watts
jordy van de ven good choice
I would say Jesus.
You would not need him if you understood nothingness
I would say osho
@IIWII you not
I couldn't imagine the horror of being consciously aware in this one relatively small Human mind throughout all of eternity.
@@mism847 what does it mean to stay alive ?
@@cooking6903 I am a completely different person than I was when I wrote that ridiculous comment. Do you want my answer as I would answer it at the time of my comment, or now?
@@mism847 Due to such unexpected circumstances I would love to see both and the reason why you changed so much.
You found God my friend. You found Self.
Thank you for sharing
Alan Watts lives, evey time we listen to him he lives. He's so important to my life. I love him so much it goes beyond love it forever!
"We come spinning out of nothingness, scattering stars like dust"
To show you the contradiction in this statement, I will ask you a simple question:
What came before this something that was always there?
In the beginning, there was Nothing.
And God said, "Let there be light."
And there was light.
But there was still Nothing.
Nothingness, Emptiness, Oneness, Allness and Wholeness are the same. Buddhists call them "Sunyatā".
Love listening to Alan. He has such Great Insight into Reality.
Thank You so Much Alan.
I do.
I experienced the nothingness out of nowhere. It was awesome!
Nothing may seem scary to us
But even fear doesn’t exist here
And when u realise it, it’s the most enlightened thing our mind can achieve and it makes ur mind calm cause it is experiencing the reality
For what is heaven or hell if I remain the same, the mind can make a heaven of hell, a hell of heaven...(paradise lost paraphrased)
I may be miserable, but there are still ways to escape society's cruel grasp and live within, but as you do so, you become a ghost in the tireless march of ants in a fog of an ever-encroaching materialistic cancer.
If you reverse the statement "without death, life would have no meaning"
You get "without life, death would have no meaning" which makes no sense at first.
I vanished into Nothingness. Everything is Bliss.
You got sound is energy, but there’s one thing that is higher than energy, for those who know so experiential silence is time
This universe is just time and energy, energy the universe and time the source/oblivion of it
@@bryanbarrera9496?? How can all sound be no sound? You're not making sense. Sound is sound. I agree there is something higher than energy but energy to this day can't be defined. Where it comes from scientists don't know. Maybe it is not metaphysical in nature but it is connected to a metaphysical source. Energy is centred and focussed meaning it is deliberate in its form whatever form it takes. The concept of intention can only occur with consciousness. A mind and a being behind everything we know and even don't know.
@@jordandavis3867 because silence would be the most most vibration/sound, an infinite sound. In yoga that sound is MMM
I love Relativism and Idealism, there is so much power in those philosophies
There's no such thing as nothingness, that might be the whole reason there is such thing as something, because of the fact that you cant experience nothing meaning you'll always be experiencing something
true, but in order for something to be experienced there needs to be the other side of thr coin, nothingness, so something can be there just as much as you wouldn't know what day is without the night as it's counterpart. something dances with nothing and day dances with night, they can't be if the other part is not there.
Silence I think of nothingness as so nothing that it doesnt even exist, not as an idea or even a concept that is the "other side" of something, which is why there is existence
Wow. Interesting way to see it and it makes sense!
You cant compare nothing with something. Just accept that your mind cant grasp it. You have to experience it.
opazor you grasp the concept by not grasping it at all, as you would with anything that doesnt exist, dont even think about it
This is some deep shit right here

I would explain this to you, if you want. Books and stuff only gave me a misunderstanding of Emptiness, the Ultimate Reality.
Only by experiencing Emptiness I've got enough understanding of it.
So perhaps you'd like to experience it yourself.
Can't see your comments and my understanding of what he is saying is the mind creates its environment.
There are then no such things as categories and therefore the closest word we have to define that experience of "non-definition" is the word or concept "nothing"
That's my take. Open to discussion.
I did meditation one time and it was amazing, I feel like everything was spinning around me and I felt so relaxed, like I was one with everything else…we are definitely not what we think we are
How do you feel if all will come to nothing? I feel relief!
Maikeli7: Motovlogger Since 2007 I feel like doing everything in existence at once
Many others need to feel this relief as well. This fear of nothingness is at the root of a lot of pain many folks are walking around with today.
It's going to continue like it always has
It was Watts who said, “Problems that remain persistently insoluble should always be suspected as questions asked in the wrong way.”
This absolutely blows my mind. Amazing

Being aware of nothing is still being aware - of being aware.
The void is Gods consciousness and we are God dreaming in 3d living stories, where we don't know how it all tends!!! Wow that makes sense......... That's why life so crazy!!!!

If you are something you could only be one certain thing with one certain form and therefore youd be limited to those things, but if you believe your existence is limitless, that it is without boundaries then realize that it would have to be nothing to fit that description. Something could only be somewhere, only nothingness could be everywhere and everything at once
Great video!

Brilliant video ! i wish i had the chance to me the man himself, very inspiring

I'm looking at the philosophical implications of the ultimate reality being nothing... meaning in its self is meant 😉👍🏽
Everything doesn't matter because it's nothing
we actually don't exist. if something came from nothing then the thing "came" is nothing. also if we are everything then it includes nothing in it. we are not even sure that past is past that actually happened or just inside our head.
Agreed, Or a fade in\out of white noise. I love these but always room to improve.
thank you for your feedback, will improve this for future videos
I really like the sound of him speaking. It sounds like it's been recorded on a tape-recorder many years ago.
There's just something about it that makes it brilliant! :)
1. First there was nothing(no perception)
2. Nothing didnt ''Know thy self''
3.Everything was created(which is still nothing)
4. Everything fell to its lowest form bad(Stuck in disbelief)
5. The purpose of ''know thy self'' will always guide you to nothing
6. If you dont figure it out you will reincarnate
7. if you figure out i can do all. Everything is nothing but dont realize emotion limits you cause you have to have to have a polarity for you to be real you will be in the same spot. If you dont the cycle will repeat
8. Once you realize everything is nothing no emotion then you will beat the reincarnation cycle
9. It is inevitable you will have to realize your Nothing cause that is the true purpose
10. Perception can be anything (dogs flying)
11. Your perception may be telling you you want reality but that just means you dont understand your nothing cant be beat but realizing that your nothing means no good or bad
12. Inside nothing there is everything, it is just be percieved a way meaning it has no true definition but that it is truly nothing( No perception)
13. You might have a perception that you reincarnated before, really it is just your perception it was nothing the whole time nothing needed to know its self
14. Don't be fooled choice it dont matter its happening one way or another tell you lose perception
Best answer I’ve gotten in a while I feel the same way you go back to nothing emptiness
We always think that we need 'something' to create something . What if 'nothing' is the origin of everything . Like , you need 'the right ammount of nothingness to spark a chain reaction to kickstart a big bang .
I'm nothing and its a good place to be
true u feelt nothing before being born and u were happy u don't have bad experience with that.
if you create something out of nothing then nothing is something and nothing was never nothing at all....so it is the same with us...we exist so we can never be nothing.
When I talk to people ,they say what you say, I say nothing...
All we are is dust in the wind.
On the contrary, I would argue that everything-ness is the ultimate reality. There is no such thing as "no thing"
nah, it is only an 'ity' bit real
Becuz nothing cannot be seeing , it's not a color , sound e form etc etc and that's where life appears in nothingness expressing itself "everything"
Watts is not someone to listen to if you're seeking comfort. Wisdom maybe, but not comfort.
Nitephall I disagree. There is so much peace to be found in what he shares. Like everything else timing is everything. When each of us are ready the message will be there to be heard.
Exactly.

I suppose I could have been something but I would have learnt nothing x
I believe there is one sure way to not becoming trapped in this depressive state of that you're nothing and that's what you'll ever be, and that is simply being remembered before you die over the course of history. No one can ever forget about Alexander The Great, Confucius, or Michael Jordan etc. because they still live on in people's heart and create emotions to people therefore they mean something to someone thus they're out of the void.
why do you want to be remembered if there is no one to remember you ?
What good is remembering people in the past when the only thing that matters is the present?
True purpose realizing your nothing(No perception)
Sorry Bud, but me and everything ain’t “nothing.” We’re something. Maybe we came from “nothing” originally and when we’re gone, we go back to “nothing.” But we ain’t “nothing” right now. We are something - maybe just barely for a brief flicker of time, but yes we’re here, we live and we’re something in the face of an unimaginably vast and complex universe. We are. We live. We exist. We be something. Nothingness be damned.

FOR ME AT THE ESSENCE OF ANYTHING IS INTELLIGENT-ENERGY-CONSCIOUSNESS BUT NOT NOTHING...
Amen
Well if you want to be nothing go with it energy doesn’t die and neither do we
