It’s part of the addiction. Addicts and alcoholics lie about everything. They lie when the truth is better. It’s only after a lot of therapy,in whatever form you use. You will eventually come around and realize lying doesn’t help you. I had an addict who would snort a line and walk in my office and tell me he hadn’t. He was a good person clean. Problem is he couldn’t stay clean. I eventually fired him after offering the help he needed. He got fired 4-5 more times before he finally got it together. As someone who has overcome intravenous heroin and methamphetamine addiction, I can confidently say that people don’t choose drugs over their children, they choose their children over drugs. Drugs are emotionally addictive, psychologically addictive, and most importantly physically addictive. Your body, mind, and soul, are all literally dependent on the substances to function properly, and without them, a whole raft of medical complications can, and do, arise during the withdrawal process. And some of those complications can become permanent maladies.
My dad was an addict and alcoholic, and he was extremely abusive, he bragged about the monster he was. He left when I was 8, almost 9, and went into court and terminated his rights to me. He told them he didn't even want visitation, and as far as he was concerned he had no daughter. I was dead to him. He would quit jobs to get out of paying child support, or fired for violence. Finally the judge asked what if he was ordered to pay $5 a month for me (they was very familiar with him because of all the times he was arrested) and he looked at the judge and said absolutely not. That $5 was a pack of cigarettes I was robbing him of, or money towards his addictions, and I definitely wasn't worth that, he never got out of the partying phase. He died 10 years ago from an accidental overdose after he was partying and mixed a bun h of drugs and alcohol together. I was 12 weeks pregnant with my daughter. She's my world, and I couldn't ever imagine putting anyone or anything above her.
I know everybody is different, and not at all saying that's the case for everyone struggling with addiction, but my dad did. He bragged about the monster he was proud of it. He had no desire to change and get clean. Some people do choose drugs over their kids, and my dad was one of those people.

Hi, Mike!! Nooo, not another NAP?? Our family (husband & myself & our 2 now adult sons) always practiced, "Nap as Needed." I couldn't believe the judgement from some people . . . [Sneer] "I NEVER lie down during the day." My reply, "Gee, I'm sorry . . . " ANYWAY, we live in SoCal, so still early here. I LOVE your content & sadly, as I am an old lady, may never catch up with all I've missed.
Always enjoyed my afternoon naps, when not at work. My ex (28 years) never understood. My grown kids enjoy their naps, just like their father. She still doesn’t understand and ribs them about it.✌️
Naps refresh & revive. Studies have shown that we benefit greatly from naps & in fact naps were probably an integral part of life throughout most of human history. Most animals take a rest during their awake period. And most people's circadian rhythm includes a sleepy spell around 2 pm. Because jobs don't allow humans to be human, we get through by pounding espresso & energy drinks, then eventually have heart attacks. I'm so glad I have the option of honoring my need for a nap. I'm self employed in construction & can just go sleep in my truck for a few when I need to. When I had an office job, we had a nap couch that we were allowed to use
I have to say, I don't consider myself to be one who dumbs down their vocabulary. I'm fact, I remember watching one video where the judge used the word "colloquy" and I got excited because it's not a word used often and she just threw it off the cuff as if she uses it all the time. Honestly, though, "forthwith," while appropriate, is also somewhat uncommon and it didn't really feel comfortable here. It kinda rubs me the wrong way that you laughed because the judge had to define the word. I'm hoping it was the awkward manner in the way he said "now" rather than the fact that she didn't understand.
The court absolutely did the right thing. She’s not ready to get sober and her son doesn’t need her as a mom right now. It’s really tough getting clean from drugs, but with the court giving her consequences, and with her realizing this is real and she will lose her son if she doesn’t clean up. It’s one thing to give her a lot of help which the court originally did, but she played footsie with it and they called her bluff.
17:50 - Oh no!! Mike says it gets worse⁉️ After all that squirming and absolute drug addict bullsh+t, the judge agrees to allow her two weeks before turning herself in to jail…IT GETS WORSE??? Arrrgghh. She’s a potato! 🤣 20:05 - BOOM! He did the right thing there! He may have saved her life, although 48 hours… so she’ll have 2 days of hell while she withdraws, but guaranteed she goes and uses within the first hour that she is out. Sad. Very sad.

Why was she distorting her face??? Obviously I know nothing about drugs. I’ve never seen anyone do that
What drug(s) she is on. She can’t control herself. The mouth gaping, the writhing of her body, clenching etc. Some medications and neurological conditions can cause involuntary movements, that would be listed with her probation officer.
Hi, Mike!! Nooo, not another NAP?? Our family (husband & myself & our 2 now adult sons) always practiced, "Nap as Needed." I couldn't believe the judgement from some people . . . [Sneer] "I NEVER lie down during the day."
My reply, "Gee, I'm sorry . . . "
ANYWAY, we live in SoCal, so still early here.
I LOVE your content & sadly, as I am an old lady, may never catch up with all I've missed.
I live for my afternoon before work nap! Couldn’t function without it!
Nap when needed! 😇👍
Mrs McKenzie if falling apart right in front of your eyes!!
The Stripes guy looks like Chum Lee from Pawnstars mixed with Jorge Garcia from LOST !!!! Amazing!!
Even the stance!!!
With inflation.. we need to start raising those bonds!!
When I see someone methed up with those strange movements… it makes me say “Nah… I don’t want to try meth”.
I second that thought!
With 4 Flamingos, (I have only seen 2), I'm sure that you deserve a nap LTWM. 😴
Well said!
He just wanted out of those jailhouse scrubs.
Moving your jaw like that. Definitely. Everyone on the panel knows that.
That is Magistrat Burton
I see Big Lebowski and Donny but Walter Sobchak looks weird..
17:50 - Oh no!! Mike says it gets worse⁉️ After all that squirming and absolute drug addict bullsh+t, the judge agrees to allow her two weeks before turning herself in to jail…IT GETS WORSE??? Arrrgghh.
She’s a potato! 🤣
20:05 - BOOM! He did the right thing there! He may have saved her life, although 48 hours… so she’ll have 2 days of hell while she withdraws, but guaranteed she goes and uses within the first hour that she is out. Sad. Very sad.
She's is having withdrawal issues.. step it up!!!! Sweet Jesus, not now!!! I need a fix..
Thanks for the video Mikeo I mean Mike. Always good to have a mid day laugh Mikeo, i mean sorry Mike. Have a nice day Mikeo, oops Mike, my bad truly. 😂😂😂😂

15:14 I’m not trying to be mean or anything but I don’t think this is funny. 😮
She obviously has problems. I hope she finds the the path to Recovery and can stay on it.
WE DO RECOVER!!
We love mediocre standards!😀
Garza or Gallagher?
You folks are jumping to conclusions with the whole "tweaking" thing. I think she's just fighting off lockjaw. Maybe she has tetanus? /s
Why would the insurance company call to cancel your rides to treatment. No it was her calling and canceling her rides.😎
Polynesian singing group?
I'm just saying but if I was in a cell wearing a bug suit, the judge would be allowed to pronounce my name however the judge would like to pronounce my name
She is high as a kite.
The guy in the pink J-Lo outfit looks like bleeding gums from The Simpsons
@4:35 Jeez, the judge is taking way too much and way too fast 😕 My word have a heart ❤️ hes drunk 🥴 and cannot listen to much for too long.
