Is there any pain associated? May be a good idea to see your general provider to perform a more thorough assessment on if there is anything going on, such as a hypermobility issue. Keep me posted. -Aleks
i only noticed it today i was just curios seems to be healthy even though i had a few dislocations on that knee my lefthand side of my body always had dislocations more though
If you have had dislocations, and it affects your day to day or sporting and pain associated, best to see a Physio to work on improving the strength and stability of the muscles around your knee (hip, quad and glutes etc). Cheers, Aleks
is it normal to *almost* pop ur kneecap out of socket with little to no force? im hypermobile in the left leg and able to twist it below the knee and shove it inside my ribcage. But its only that knee and kneecap that moves like that.
Do you have a history of injuries or dislocations with pain in the past? And what do you mean shove the kneecap to the rib cage? This is not possible. Unless you’re referring to another structure? It might be a good idea if you do have a lax kneecap (with pain and/or feelings of instability), to see a PT and see if work can be done to improve strength and stability. -Aleks
hello , my knees feels locked at some level when bend and i need to adjust my kneecap with my own hand to the side so i can extend my knee i can`t remember any injuries that happened to me
Hello, locking is difficult to know the cause without further investigation and questioning. Generally, it can be associated with irritation of the meniscus or an loose body within the joint space area that affects your ability to straighten and bend the knee. Does it hurt or limit your participation in daily activities? See a medical provider to give you more information and assessment. Hope this helps! Keep me posted. Cheers, Aleks
In the absence of pain, an injury or another pre existing condition, then yes it is normal when your knee cap is in a relaxed position. If you have had a history of your kneecap dislocating or fall with pain, please see a Physio or your health care provider. -Aleks
I broke my right ankle it was in cast for 34 days, and it's 15th day of cast removal but my right knee's shape doesn't look like the left one is it normal? (Btw I can move my kneecap as u showed)
Good question. Im not sure how an ankle being in a cast would affect your kneecap shape. Unless you lost some muscle mass on that leg from not using it and now it looks more noticeable relative to your other leg. Or there was always some small variation in shape but you never paid attention to it. Generally, if it’s not causing you pain or discomfort, there wouldn’t be anything to worry about. However, if it is, then see a Physio. Not medical advice. -Aleks
How did the initial dislocation happen? Working with a Physio can help improve your dynamic stability by working on strength and progressive loading exercises of the muscles around the knee and minimize the likelihood that this occurs. See a PT to help with the return to boxing. Hope this helps and good luck! 💪-Aleks
@omeromer3473 nobody knows the answer to that. It’s similar to asking will I ever roll my ankle again if you’ve rolled it in the past. The chances generally may increase if it’s happened before. But by working on your rehab and recovery and mimicking sporting situations through your training, the hope would be that the risk is decreased. -Aleks
If your leg is relaxed then movement in standing is normal. But more so side to side versus in a circle. It can move slightly up and down. Have you had any previous injuries or dislocations in the area? If you have and it’s painful then might be best to see a physio. -Aleks
@AveryRoberts-il4kz your kneecap is supposed to move slightly when you bend and straighten your knee. However, if you mean when you raise your leg (assuming your knee doesn’t bend or straighten), rather the movement is happen at your hips (hip flexion), then your knee cap shouldn’t be moving per se. However, I might be confusing what you’re trying to say. If you have pain or history of patellar dislocations, see a PT. Not medical advice. Hope this helps. -Aleks
thank you so much i have realized i get anxious or i have bad anxiety i panic a lot so this really helped thank you so much

@@aleks_physio i had injury before in my legs because the bone in my legs broke is it related to my kneecap moving around?
