Just completed this route today! Beautiful and truly a blessing to see. I would not suggest doing this route past mid September into winter as the water crossings in the first 2 miles of Glen Almond were getting higher, especially with the increased rain lately. There was a lot of mud and the tracks were deep into water in the grassy section. It was a real adventure and had to carry the bike on the back to cross one of the streams just a bit up away from the path. Right before the gate within the long and taller stone wall. Other than that, I had to force myself not to stop so often to take pictures. Rusty, thank you for putting this together! You absolutely got my support. I used a gravel Ti bike with 42 (45-46mm in my HED rims) S-Works pathfinders. No spills and traction/control was superb, there are plenty of baby heads, knuckles everywhere and sharp rocks. Maje sure you come prepared and with proper gear.
Great video again Rusty, love the drone shots, they really do relay the sense of the surroundings so much better! (oh and I couldn't manage that climb out of Glen Quaich either, and I had a 2x chainset and no camera gear on my back!). You'll need to revisit Glen Almond with a tailwind like we had 😂
Thanks Rusty I have started at newton bridge and up to the cottage then back to newton bridge thats far enough for me as iam an old guy but love riding my mountain bike.
Hi I just came across your video and watched it last week- then my husband and I did it yesterday- what a fab route loved Glen Almond- thanks so much for this - will definitely check out your other videos too 😊
Ive watched only 2 of your videos and had to subscribe . It was that good ! thanks for sharing your rides. Its good for me to lear new routes etc . Thank you
Hi enjoying your new content as much as the old. I noted that you mentioned that a hardtail might be more comfortable I have been using redshift seatpost on my gravel bike for about a year now and id highly recommend. Awesome video and route thanks.
It's doing pretty well actually. It had a light winter so hasn't worn much. I suspect the wheel bearings will go soon - they always seem to wear out on this bike...

Good to see you back out and enjoying the gravel again . Looks a brill loop 😊
That was one of the better 1/4 hours of my day, today. Brilliant video 🌟⭐🌟
Thank you! Glad you liked it.
Respect, I'm fairly familiar with that route, that's a fair graft and to stop and film as well, well done.

@@RustyRidesGravel I tried to buy you a coffee but that must be old money now is it 😊
Ah yeah, that all closed down in the hiatus. I might bring it back if I prove to be reliable enough to warrant it 😅
Stunning route Rusty, it looks like you have the enthusiasm back again for the great rides and videos which is brilliant 👍
Looks brilliant, thanks for taking the time to film it all. A great watch 👍🏼
Glad to see you’ve got the bug again Rusty 👍

Thanks for the positive words! I am enjoying it, but being careful not to do too much this time, looking for that balance.

I must admit that I do find myself thinking more and more about getting something like that to improve the comfort on the bumpier rides!
@@RustyRidesGravel Yeah i find it just takes the harshness out of the rougher tracks stops you bouncing around the saddle.
Great video. I remember an older video where you documented the servicing on the bike. How’s it fairing up to the recent mileage?
