Found out that Akira Toriyama passed last week. One of the greatest manga creators of them all. Jacks equal? No, but a tremendous talent none the less. We all have been blessed by God with these men and women who create so much for us to enjoy. Never take it for granted.
Long live Jack The King Kirby!! This man's creativity held no boundaries! Absolutely brimming with genius from the early 1940s to the 1990s. In comics creativity and breaking new ground, the King had no equal. He kept on evolving throughout his creative career...his 40s and 50s stuff was different than his 60s stuff which was all different from his 70s and 80s and 90s stuff but still uniquely Kirby ....always learning and always the master of his craft. He stands with the greatest artists and painters of the world. Thank you Jack, for sharing your genius with the world.
Jack Kirby is THE King of comics....the story of Jack Kirby IS the story of comics. If there was a Mount Rushmore of comics, Jack would be first and head and shoulders above the rest. The single greatest contributor to the medium. A genius. A maverick. A legend.
i used to see mark and his kids at hi de ho comics in santa monica mark is one of us would like to know if mark knew that much of kirby's 4th world was borrowed for star wars
So sad they haven't done a NEW GODS MOVIE! I'd love to see PIXAR do some Kirby characters, imagine the adventure they could do with a character like KAMANDI! CGI like the INCREDIBLES, no funny kiddy stuff though, it would still have to be a serious adventure! It would be something totally different for PIXAR.

It's no exaggeration. When I was a kid, I could go to a newsstand and buy great art for twelve cents. Kirby was the art world's best kept secret.
