@@oozecloud4511 I understand that, but still they judge her just by the fact that she didn't want to fight Luffy directly and sent her sisters to do it and by her devil fruit power alone. Like, if it didn't work on Luffy, than it must be pretty useless in actual combat. But they forgot that Hancock has Conqueror's Haki. This fact automatically places her in a very elite category of characters, cause only a few in the One Piece world possess this ability. This is already a testament to her incredible power, even without taking into account her other qualities. It's very strange for them to miss such an important information.

29:23 about that - in the manga, Boa's backstory was even more limited, specifically because the horrors she and her sisters went through become more impactful as implications...something that cannot even be shown, and our minds fill in the blanks. If they'd dragged out her backstory, I really think the impact would have been reduced a lot.
Hancock (not sure why people in the comments keep referring to her by her last name of Boa) is much, much stronger than you've seen. Of the warlords I'd say that she's the second strongest after Mihawk.
@@DeadMan03 Yes but there are three Boa sisters so the first name should be being used, whether together with her family name or with just her given, to distinguish between the three.
i love the subtle stuff with the gorgon sisters. the green one has a mental breakdown as she isn't coping with the trauma as much as the orange one, who just from visuals you can tell has been EATING to deal with her emotions. these characters are so well thought out despite how ridiculous they look. i do not know how but oda manages to write some of the better woman in anime.
I feel like the fight against the Gorgon sisters is so underrated,it does such a good job at showing you how a Haki user can overpower someone in a fight and how they can also be overcome . The idea that Celestial dragons feed devil fruits to their slaves just for fun feels so gross to me,these mystical objects full of secrets and lore, and they just don't care, they are have so much authority that they don't respect the actual power system of the world. Also the brand they use is the claw of a dragon, the celestial dragons are literally saying that you are under their foot for as long as you live. Now for One Piece at a time: Now go back at the start of Sabaody where we meet Macro, a slaver, that is also a fishman but more than that, he has a SUN on his chest. FUCK Macro.
I mean it makes sense that people like Macro exist who never were slaves and just got the sun brand upon initiation into the sun pirates and thus don't know its deeper meaning. Or he is a sun pirates fanboy and just got the mark to imitate them.
Its also something that I dont get why people dont go back to more. Like people get mad that some people with Haki get beat by others without it but like this fight literally was showing that it can be done. Haki is a boost but people can still be beat even if you dont have it.
I like that the fight between Luffy and the gorgon sisters showed more than that. It also showed how while Haki is a massive advantage, it doesn't automatically decide everything. Luffy's power and speed was so high compared to the sisters, that he overpowered & speedblitzed them even though he didn't have Haki and they did.
Of course Hancock is much stronger than Luffy at this point, but that's not something that's apparent with what she's shown up until this episode. This whole comment section is showing that many people don't realize they're arguing with the benefit of future knowledge. For first time reactors, the title of warlord doesn't mean much anymore at this point (especially after Moria, who leaves a very bad impression), and Conqueror's Haki is just some unknown thing that knocks out irrelevant fodders. There's no tangible reason to believe Hancock is super strong at this particular point. Of course, then Marineford proves her strength, but at this point, she's an enigma. Also, even if the battle was stopped, Luffy did beat her sisters, they're nowhere near as strong as Hancock herself. They were using Haki, while Luffy didn't, and he was still strong enough to break their defense and move faster than they could sense. That means there was a massive difference in physical ability. It seems people are taking the Hancock-slandering a bit too hard, and its leading them to get pissed at Luffy and try to downplay him too much lol. At this point Hancock would wipe the floor with him, but he was 100% stronger than her sisters.
Hancock would have beaten Luffy for sure, but I would give him the win against Sandersonia (the green haired sister) at least. He found a counter to her observation haki and it's Marigold that's the specialist in armament. Without having to worry about Sonia, Mari could very well have beaten Luffy alone though.

Boa Hancock is one of the most unique characters. Her design prototype especially in manga its Monica Belucci, not same as Nami or Robin (unless for you every female anime char shares one face). Plus recognizible personality with own Jojo pose. Then she has terrible backstory related with the main villains. Luffy usually skips anyone's flashbacks but here he listens. Its already stated in episode 19 or something that arlong pirates is part of fishman pirates that disbanded to group Which is also why the live action literally named drop jimbei
She couldnt charm him, but she could beat Luffy up any other way at this point. Boa wins Mid to High dif even if luffy did his best. Edit: Yeah Low diff. He's gonna reach his cap early without training.
Yeah its low diff if she fought the entire crew at the same time at this point l would say luffy alone is maybe and this is being generous low dif by himself
Remember, Arlong had the mark of the sun as well, as did Kuroobi. We can actually see it in the Live action as well, if you look closely enough you can see it through his hair.
Just one thing, I know you guys are always skeptical about what things Oda has planned and what is improvised, but let's make sure to give credit where it's due: this whole discrimination/slavery storyline was thought of ever since Arlong Park. And if somehow it wasn't thought of since back then, it's arguably even more impressive that Oda would be able to create this story and seamlessly connect established dots like the Sun Pirates tattoo and how Arlong's hatred for humans is a clear reversal of the racism he felt. This is Oda at his best.
Gloriosa aka Granny Nion is - not spoiling anything for the story - one of the 3 living persons who ever had the title of Empress of Amazon Lily. That and the fact that she had the sisters in her care as childs is why she relishes such an amount of liberty against Hancock.
"Make it make sense?". Are you being serious, or is this a joke? Of course they're not understimating Kuma. Since he appeared all he did was kick everyone's asses. He obliterated all the SHs easily, it was made very clear that they only surived by his pity, and then easily disposed of the Pacifistas too, the same Pacifistas that it took the entire crew going all out just to defeat one. In contrast, what has Hancock done up until this episode? She turned some fodder marines into stone, and was revealed to have an ability that first-time reactors still know almost nothing about other than it can knock out fodders. That's it. Of course Kuma seems a million times stronger and more impressive than Hancock at THIS point, that's not even a question. You don't realize you're arguing with the benefit of future knowledge. Try putting yourself in the shoes of someone who hasn't been spoiled at all, and is just seeing these characters for the first time.
Sun pirates if im not mistaken mentioned in arlong park arc when arlong first came to namis village, its mentioned arlongs crew were splited from sun pirates or something along those lines
I don't think so, I think they mention that along was an equal to jinbei, i.e. a warlord, so it was planned just this wasn't mentioned, but i could be wrong
And these were the last few moments until Boa Hancock lost her sanity 😅 Here we see the perfect example of - Warlord as a Boss vs Warlord after I unlocked her. 🤣🤣
As much as I love Luffy, this version is getting bodied by Boa. She has control of Haki which is already a big + in combat. She does not need her devil fruit to win.
also you guys just spit hot fire on your guesses i swear you never miss except when you do but when you are right you're not even kinda right you're almost always spot on
A lot of comments around how these guys are underestimated Hancock, everything these guys have seen up to now basically suggests for the big scary enemies (Crocodile, Enel, Moria), all that's required is a way to figure out/overcome their devil fruit, either by being a bad matchup or by figuring out a weakness or something. That's what viewers have been conditioned to think leading up to meeting Hancock, who seemingly is powerless against Luffy. Oda basically flips the whole powerscale at this point, but that only really starts around Saboady in a meaningful way. Fans chat a lot of shit based on hindsight, but if you started One Piece from this arc and asked who would win in a fight Luffy or Crocodile, there's no way *this* Luffy could win against a warlord who can use haki. I think that says a lot about the inconsistent power-scaling.
I'll just echo the other commenters: while your theory of her being physically weak had ground based on what you've been shown, Boa would have folded Luffy easily had she fought him, she's dummy strong
Didn't see that anyone said that, but i think that is really funny. We got a really cool back story because it is literally the story of theirs backs. That's all, thank you 😂😊 Btw really love Boa Hancock❤

People in the comments acting like those two are silly for thinking Luffy could take her on, when the whole community persistently threw her to the bottom of the line in any Warlord strength rating for years 🙄
I think when Oda introduced it with Shanks on chapter 1, it's more like he's preparing a new technique to counter the devil fruit system, making a weakness for Luffy. But he didn't know what it is yet, nor he didn't plan for Luffy to learned it. It's just set as mysterious technique.
What other top tier woman fighters are there? I can only think of is Smoothie since she is Yonko commander level even if she is featless. Ulti is also up there. Shakky should also be pretty high up there based on her former title and still youthful appearance.
Huh, I never thought about the cloaks but I wonder if the Kuja warriors were wearing it because they admire the Gorgon sisters (wearing the cloak to hide their back) or it became a uniform
The sisters are shown to be weaker than Luffy, and power scaling is silly but... the little evidence we have of Boa is that she outclasses Luffy completely, mental states being even at this point. To back it up is spoilers sooo... spoiler warning... Mihawk, Boa, and Don Flamingo alongside the RH pirates and observing SNs are the only characters at MF to walk away without any animated injuries/fatigue. WB, WB captains, WB allied captains, Garp, 3 Admirals, Fleet Admiral, Moria, Croc, Ivankov, O Jr, BB Crew all had animated damage. Boa had been fighting and was some amount of injuried/fatigued when she attack Koby and was then ambushed by a fresh Blackbeard. He only turned on WB because of his DF... The 2 Yonko Commanders were dead (sacrificed?) to stop Boa. The Seraphim could have fought Boa... Let alone some vice admirals+ mooks of all sorts. It was a loss, but a loss against someone who beat the WB and Marines at MF through cunning and power.
It makes complete sense that Carson would be doubting Boa's strength or thinking that Luffy could beat her. At this point in the story, she has not been shown doing anything combat-related outside of Pistol Kiss. The argument that she is a Warlord doesn't hold up because Luffy has already beat a couple of them. We only scoff at the notion because we have future knowledge about how strong she is. Which, that being said, yeah she would completely destroy him right now.
"The argument that she is a Warlord doesn't hold up because Luffy has already beat a couple of them." I get what you're saying, but I don't think that argument holds up either. Yes, Luffy has encountered 4 warlords before Hancock and beat 2 of them. However, do you remember what it took to beat Crocodile and Moria? Crocodile almost killed Luffy three times and if it weren't for luck and discovering Crocodile's one weakness, he would've easily been killed by him. Beating Moria took all the efforts of the Strawhats and outside help to create Nightmare Luffy. By the end, they used up everything they had and more to beat Moria. They lost easily to Kuma, twice, and it's safe to say Mihawk would've also wiped the floor with them in Baratie. Luffy beat 2 warlords, but he would've been easily defeated if it weren't for his luck.
when I first watched those episodes I used to think that the reason boa really "liked" luffy was because he couldn't fall for her devil fruit tricks, but rewatching it now I see that is much more about luffy's confrontation against the celestion dragons and how he has able to listen to her history without any judgment abot her slavery past...
24:45 So she goes out of her way to seem cold-hearted and ruthless, like having small cute animals placed in her path so she can kick them, to dispel the idea that she could be taken advantage of or hurt.
Oh yes, Luffy would totally beat Hancock in a fight... *SPOILERish below* ...1 out of 10000 times, by a freak accident, and I think him escaping by pure change is counted as a win too. They have no clue how ridiculously strong she is.
To be fair to Carson, I was a weekly reader during this arc and most people at this time did think Luffy could beat Boa if they really fought. Powerscalers back then rated her around Crocodile or Moria's level.
17:03 I like how even after finding out about "Luffy can beat everyone" thing isn't gonna work not anymore you also found out Hancock has the same haki Luffy used and she can also control it yet you thought he can beat her because her Devil Fruit is useless against him . I don't think this is a spoiler btw because you are heavily underestimating the concept of strength without a devil fruit . Even Lucci and Kaku were a problem without their powers and we literally have Zoro and Sanji who have no Devil Fruits yet are really strong so why did you thought "The worlds most beautiful female" who is the Empress of All-Female island (Where strong are considered beautiful) and successor of Gloriosa who earlier took down Luffy can get "beat the sh** out" ? Next reaction would be amazing can't wait .
Tom did in fact have a mark... but it wasn't the Sun Pirates' mark. It might have been made for the same purpose, and it would serve to cover a slave brand, but it is distinct, and to my knowledge we haven't seen another like it. Interesting.
4:00 look its a show so it wouldnt work like this but the one piece reasoning is he got hit so hard in the chest he exhaled all the poison in his lungs that's why he wasnt poisoned anymore they saved him on accident by hitting him when they didnt need to.

Carson saying that Luffy can beat the shit out of Hancock and force her to do something is just ridiculous. I honestly don't understand how you can underastimate Hancock so much. If she was the one fighting, she would literally wipe the floor with Luffy even without her devil fruit power. I mean, guys, she is still a warlord. Or did you forget how straw hats got absolutely clapped by a bunch of pacifistas not so long ago, that were just clones of an actual warlord without haki or devil fruit powers?
@@killer_queen792 its because the show put some comedy in her character, so audience wont take seriously
much like the onion warlord
Luffy already defeated 2 warlords at this point. Warlords power level varied greatly from 1 to another. Don't get me wrong I know that they are wrong but listening to their theorizing for the past few episode I can definitely see why they came to the wrong conclusion.
i mean who can say? it's not like we're ever seeing them fight at all ever, so we'll never really know
@@oozecloud4511 I understand that, but still they judge her just by the fact that she didn't want to fight Luffy directly and sent her sisters to do it and by her devil fruit power alone.
Brother they haven't seen her fight yet, that's a perfectly reasonable thing to assume. Fucking powerscalers I swear to god
"he lead fish men and hated humans. that doesn't NECESSARILY mean he was a fish men."
these are the words of cope. Just accept you were leaping at shadows XP its more reasonable to assume a dude who hates humans and leads fish men was, himself, a fish man. After all, you wouldn't say "hates humans" if the person was himself human.
Fr
@@sarafontanini7051 it's literally stated "he freed his fellow fishmen" too, Carson just didn't pay attention to the subtitles

@@royalfun1031 You going to say that in all of the other comments which often said much more?

St. Bartholomew kuma a real dawg
Don’t we all? lol
His theory will somehow end up correct in a weird way in egghead arc lol
i love the subtle stuff with the gorgon sisters.
the green one has a mental breakdown as she isn't coping with the trauma as much as the orange one, who just from visuals you can tell has been EATING to deal with her emotions.
these characters are so well thought out despite how ridiculous they look. i do not know how but oda manages to write some of the better woman in anime.
because for all his flaws, Oda TRIES, he doesn't jsut give up or half ass it, he gives his best

Let's put it this way Luffy rn is level 20 shes like LVL 75 😂

I feel like the fight against the Gorgon sisters is so underrated,it does such a good job at showing you how a Haki user can overpower someone in a fight and how they can also be overcome .
The idea that Celestial dragons feed devil fruits to their slaves just for fun feels so gross to me,these mystical objects full of secrets and lore, and they just don't care, they are have so much authority that they don't respect the actual power system of the world.
Also the brand they use is the claw of a dragon, the celestial dragons are literally saying that you are under their foot for as long as you live.
Now for One Piece at a time:
Now go back at the start of Sabaody where we meet Macro, a slaver, that is also a fishman but more than that, he has a SUN on his chest.
FUCK Macro.
I mean it makes sense that people like Macro exist who never were slaves and just got the sun brand upon initiation into the sun pirates and thus don't know its deeper meaning. Or he is a sun pirates fanboy and just got the mark to imitate them.
I read the last line and I was like whoa, what, and why plus isn't that name a spoiler, but then realized it lol
Underestimate hancock at your own risks 😌
he really thinks that Luffy is stronger than Boa he doesn't even stop.
luffy didnt even defeat the sisters they just stop fighting
While I agree with both points luffy was beating them. Gear second was overwhelming them , it just stopped cause luffy is a good dude
True.. I can't watch that so I just read the comments to see if they are still on that train
@@jackjacques7495 The only people we saw using King's haki are two of the most powerful people we know, so underestimating her strength is wrong
She doesn't need her devil fruit to beat him
The only Fish-man to join the Warlords was Jinbie, the current captain of the Fish-men Pirates. Who was mentioned at the start of the Arlong Park arc.
Trust me when I say you guys are severely underestimating Boa. Luffy has a 0% chance of beating Boa here. Don't use Gokco Moria as a catalyst for the other warlords, he was easily the weakest, even far weaker than Crocodile.
Exactly, Crocodile would have murdered Luffy if Robin didn’t have the antidote AND saved him so many times.
@@curtmcyeah but he still lost to a pre gear luffy, so he definitely should be the weakest but the current potrayal really tells us to ignore everything before the summit war saga

Boa achieved cool title both for beauty and pirate reputation. She has all type of haki. In this huge saga she has so much impact. Her relationship with Luffy is so fun and entertaining.
Hm
Fun char
Boa could literally demolish all of straw hats if she wants what are you talking

Its already stated in episode 19 or something that arlong pirates is part of fishman pirates that disbanded to group
Which is also why the live action literally named drop jimbei

Yeah low diff. just remember stuff that happened after this.
Remember, Arlong had the mark of the sun as well, as did Kuroobi.

Agreed,if he didn't think of it at the beginning, which I think he did, that would be even more impressive.....
fishman are stronger than human that's why fisher tiger can climb in redline
Gloriosa aka Granny Nion is - not spoiling anything for the story - one of the 3 living persons who ever had the title of Empress of Amazon Lily. That and the fact that she had the sisters in her care as childs is why she relishes such an amount of liberty against Hancock.
Ngl after this arc every enemy is strong so i wonder what would they say when luffy encounter one
Hm
Kuma is also a warlord but y’all don’t underestimate him but underestimate boa. Make it make sense. Yea he’s defeated 2 but he struggled with those
"Make it make sense?".
Tom's one has one actually not the same brand as the sun pirates. Its still a mystery tbh 🤷♀️😅

Sun pirates if im not mistaken mentioned in arlong park arc when arlong first came to namis village, its mentioned arlongs crew were splited from sun pirates or something along those lines

There’s a surprising amount of “so he was paying attention” when it comes to Luffy
As much as I love Luffy, this version is getting bodied by Boa. She has control of Haki which is already a big + in combat. She does not need her devil fruit to win.
Yeah not in a million years at this level luffy can’t even touch her, the gap is too big
I love how Carson was linked up with Luffy about the mark. They both recognized it for the same reason! 👍🏻

always love the reactions, big thanks guys!~
I love how in the anime he tells them his name is Fisher Tiger and their minds wander to him being Kuma or something similar xD
The only reason Luffy could get away from this island is becouse Boa FALL in love with a Man.

People in the comments acting like those two are silly for thinking Luffy could take her on, when the whole community persistently threw her to the bottom of the line in any Warlord strength rating for years 🙄
Smh
Yeah and those were silly too
I think when Oda introduced it with Shanks on chapter 1, it's more like he's preparing a new technique to counter the devil fruit system, making a weakness for Luffy.
But he didn't know what it is yet, nor he didn't plan for Luffy to learned it. It's just set as mysterious technique.
Why wont he😊

Love the observation Carson 😁💖 also are they really sisters? (Boa, Sonia and Mari)
I think Kuma knew that Amazon Lily would aid anyone that punched a Celestial Dragon. Interesting that Kuma seemed to know Boa's secret.
Boa is way stronger than luffy here. Not even close.
It's that the Boa sisters are better Haki users. But in terms of raw physical performance. They are out classed by Luffy when using GEAR 2.
Sandersonia and Marigold, yes. But, Luffy’s not taking Hancock with just Gear 2.
"The argument that she is a Warlord doesn't hold up because Luffy has already beat a couple of them."
I get what you're saying, but I don't think that argument holds up either.
Boa is a warlord for a reason 😅 She’s not just a display in the navy just because she’s beautiful
I love luffy 🥺💖 and also love you guys ❤

when I first watched those episodes I used to think that the reason boa really "liked" luffy was because he couldn't fall for her devil fruit tricks, but rewatching it now I see that is much more about luffy's confrontation against the celestion dragons and how he has able to listen to her history without any judgment abot her slavery past...
24:45 So she goes out of her way to seem cold-hearted and ruthless, like having small cute animals placed in her path so she can kick them, to dispel the idea that she could be taken advantage of or hurt.

To be fair to Carson, I was a weekly reader during this arc and most people at this time did think Luffy could beat Boa if they really fought. Powerscalers back then rated her around Crocodile or Moria's level.
dont worry guys they will probably learn how strong Boa is once they get to Marineford
Carson as usual is absolutely cooking
