@damian To give you a more analytical, opininated reply, "London's Burning" is an old nursery rhyme from 1580 after the Burning of Edinburgh in 1544. The change of lyrics is mostly known for the 1666 great fire of london when london had a really big fire that crossed miles. A lot of people died and it took a lot of time to rebuild the structure that you see today. "You can't duck this smoke" refers to people shooting and stabbing people in london. Its a tight knit community, (metaphorically similar to the houses back in 1666) all the gangs that are beefing each other live 10 minutes away. Since civilians who are not affiliated with a gang live in close proximity from members of other gangs, we can never truly avoid/"duck" the mayhem/"smoke" around us. He asks you "can't you see london's burning?" because there's a big crisis with gun and knife crime and it's like people can't see the fire when its crossing the nation. You can tell its about gang crime because the next line he says is "Man know about serving, man know bout the pot and stove" which means serving under a gang and cooking crack to sell. I hope that makes the imagery clearer. It is just what I intepreted from it and from the replies, londoners know exactly what he was talking about.
Not from the UK but this hits home. Did 11 months and got out. Switched my life around. All of these friends and shit, nobody is real. Only ones who kept it 100 were my girl and 3 of my buddies. Lost one 4 years ago. My girl always reminds me that it could've been me. I dont know man, i miss these times sometimes you know? Made 3 to 4 k a week. Now i'm on 2300 a month. Still making more then most people i know but there's always this hunger. And songs like this remind me of who i am and where i came from you know. You know how fucking hard it is when your having a smoke with your girl after the movies and some fucking idiot comes walking by talking shit and acting like he's going to pull something out of his bag. Cameras everywhere. City patrol as wel. Can't afford to go back in and i sure as hell dont want my girl to see me in that fucking state again. Could only tell the fucker to keep walking. He did but i still feel like a bitch to this day. This was last year and i still think about it and still keep an eye out for him whenever i'm in the area without her. Touched my ego and pride in a way i cant even describe. And thats one of the other reasons i dont want to go back to that life, people who arent worth spending years for are always giving you reasons to.

MOM'S SAYIN STUFF ABOUT OPENIN UP BUT THAT'S WHAT THE BRO'S ARE FOR -- and the fact that he closes the song rapping about the missed calls from his mum and sayin "man i should've went home" is actually a pretty accurate description of a pattern you find way too often in our society. the lack of child-parent connection and children opening themselves up to their homies without realizing that this role is reserved for their parents/adult of trust is root of a lot of crimes happening nowadays. You won't find the love and compassion you need to feel some sort of security and intimacy in people that are looking for it themselves/are not yet aware enough of themselves to give it to you in a healthy and mature way. connections like these are as beautiful as they are dangerous because they are instabil and make you dependent on each other. I like how knucks is adressing this pattern in such a subtle manner

How has this not blown up? Cold tune 🥶
Too nuanced for dumb kids.
Because this generation is full of neeks that like neeky music
he will but there's a downpresser man overseeing the underground's expression and that has something to do with it all
Because it will make people think lol
First time hearing him. I'll just say that this is gonna blow up real soon... 🔥🔥🔥
this song is 10/10 visuals are just as good authentic London. this guy needs to blow what more can he do
thats the best UK Rap i ever heard
I can understand like 40% of it but it still bops
I can’t believe I’ve only just come across this guy, I’ve just listened to he’s album and I am getting massive “Reasonable doubt” UK style and that is saying something! I’m saying it now in 5 years time this is guy is going to be a global superstar!
Same in my recommendations
amen
Brilliant stuff
Enzo One you need to listen to his older stuff if you like this! 21 Candles, Breakfast at Tiffany’s etc
@@iMaskyy yeah I only knew him from breakfast at Tiffany's, so good
"can't you see Londons burning, and you can duck this smoke" hardest bar from London in 2020
U are stupid

Can't *
Can't take my own voice spanga
thank you subtitles
and they said "bri' ish rappers suggs". they haven't listened to this masterpiece.
This already a top song of 2020. The instrumental, storytelling and video (both narratively and aesthetically) are excellent. The UK has not disappointed me personally for the last 3 years I've been on it. Pure brilliance, that country is flooded with talent.
Im not from the UK, but if this guy knew that ”Anna” (short for ”animosity”) is American/Memphis slang for ”Beef”, and used that as a metaphor, instantly makes this song a hundred times better
Doubt he did but good to know
james505ism nah g hannah is a common like the female version of jamal
bruh people call the CANT YOU SEE LONDONS BURNING AND YOU CAN'T DUCK THIS SMOKE the best bars of 2020 when it's the simplest shit, don't think he knew shit
@@Fllemingo ffs just enjoy the music man
@@anond5754 I am dude, song is great it's just that people overhype bars too much and it's kind of sad with so much other good music around
Bro I want a part 2 of this story, man could make a Netflix series or sum shii hahahah💯
prolly the best song in uk
whoever made this beat is the goat.
EDIT: KNUCKS IS THE GOAT
what kinda goat?
@@RawliglatX Greatest Of All Times
can anyone tell me what piano sample he used, if he did use one
prod. tamz OTB [GU] he probs did it himself, the whole thing is based on one bare easy chord. 9-8 suspension w dominant. Play Cb Ab A at the same time and you’ll get it
“London burnin and you can’t duck this smoke” and I’m from the us that shit snapped
London has a crazy murder rate
@@jean-paulbelmondo3773 myth 😂
I'm seeing a lot of Americans here, how did you lot find this?
@@Zeeshanbeats I'm from Germany. A german rapper named Luciano did a song called "Mios mit Bars" which is UK Drill. He also has a feature with Skengdo & AM called "Flex". And so i searched for more UK rap.
Zeeshan Beats RUclips
People that don't understand the London's burning line are defo set 8
Heard this live at the Kid Cudi concert 👌🏽
Too underrated. This man deserves more recognition
I like how knucks is adressing this pattern in such a subtle manner
pffff true shit brother very well said
Underrated comment
Proud to say I knew this song before it hit 500k
this gotta be in the new top boy series!
