But imo the UK over the last decade has been absolutely murdering hip hop. Knucks to me is one of best lyricists and rappers of all time anywhere. Everything about him and his work resonates with me. His beat selection (and beatmaking), rhyme schemes, voice, storytelling ability, video direction. Everything. The man is a wrecking ball. I get the chills off his sh1t. Much love to the UK from the US for work like this.
I cringe at people hyping K dot or Drake like they are geniuses. So lucky US is in love with complacent trap rap. K dot might have good meaning but doesn’t mean the guys lyricism or flow is top notch. Knucks and sainte blow Kendrick and Drake out the park with real rap with lyrics and flow.
