    Nice explanation. One question: have you ever heard of kuhli loaches crawling inside sponge filters through the holes at the top?

      It hasn't happened that we have heard of. But if you had an oversized sponge with small kuhlis I could see it happening

      Yessss this Top Fin air pump I bought today is so loud! It’s louder than my 250 gallon canister filter. I can’t even hear that one. This is ridiculous! I thought something was wrong with the air pump.

    I got a new triangle shaped sponge filter and I set it up but it has too much pressure and I don’t know how to slow it down!!! I want to get my betta soon but I want to fix the filter

      Try to put on an air control valve, so that you can control the air pressure going to your sponge filter. Another alternative is a smaller air pump

    Lol why doesn’t my sponge filter sink ? It floats ?

    • @rancoraquaticswholesale2225

      when its new ,its full of trapped air bubbles ,just squeeze it out under water and it should sink. you may have to do this a couple times when the sponges are new. also make sure not to crush the inner parts of the filter when squeezing.

    Are there any benefits to having an air stone inside the sponge filter?

    • @FishAddicts
      @FishAddicts  4 года назад +1

      Air stones will reduce the bubble size which creates less noise, and a constant lift of bubbles rather than more intermitten but a disadvantage is you may have less surface agitation. We run all our filters without airstones as we find the surface agitation to be of more use to us.
