for me, challenging myself to read on average a book a week has helped me make time to read instead of choosing to waste away and i often let others pick my next book (by picking a color or number and then i check my shelf or excel sheet) bc i have some books that have been unread for over 10 years and that also gets me to read them and making it a challenge helped me enjoy it more actually BECAUSE i get to read tho i also read really fast in my native language and english so i can read several books in one week and then dont feel like im falling behind if the book im reading takes me longer than a week (like im currently reading a book in portuguese bc im learning the language and am obviously waaaay slower)
I did the same thing you did in aquarium in my zoology class in college 😭 we had fish to identify and I was saying to my friend «I have no idea how it is called in Polish (our native language), but in Animal Crossing it's *blank*»🤓☝

Time kinda smears lol. But yeah. A kid made a bomb threat, we werent allowed backpacks, and this guy patrolled our hallways for like 3-4 months. I dunno if he counts as a police officer either. But it was wack.
