- Denmark’s captain Simon Kjaer ensured Eriksen didn't swallow his tongue when he was unconscious, gave him CPR, told the squad to form a protective shield around him, consoled Eriksen’s horrified wife & led his team back into the game though he was not able to continue to play for so long. You, sir, are a hero!
Kjaer and his team created incredible scenes that will go down to football history! If it wasn't heroic acts of Kjaer, Christian Eriksen might have gone there, too!

September 4, 2021 at the age of 43 I suffered a heart attack. I went into cardiac arrest in the ambulance to the hospital, then again at the hospital after a stent was anchored in my LAD, otherwise known as, "the widow maker". Prior to my heart attack, I was in good health. Since, I can't sleep for fear of not waking up. I'm afraid to be alone, when before I never feared it. Watching this clip and learn that Christian is play soccer today is.....inspiring to me. I'm not a soccer fan, but I am a Christian Keriksen fan. Thank you...for showing that I can live without fear, and to keep pursuing my goals. I might even try to watch/learn futbol.

Hello. You need to sleep. IT is not possible to stay healthy physically and mentally without sleep. NO sleep and fear leads to aniexty and depression! Which should be avoid. PLEACE Seek help along the ways of confort not medication and also get controled for sleep apnea. Sleep apnea unknown can case heart problems.

This man got nominated because of this behaviour....he was also one of best defenders in SeriA last season.... A captain , leader,hero ...but also he was phenomenal with AC Milan....😌❤️
He was the one of the best defenders in Turkish league when he played for my team. We still miss him to this day.
He is still playing for Milan, however he has been out since December with an ACL injury. Recently, there have been photos of him returning to practice, so hopefully he will be ready for the pre-season games

We just came this day from our Denmark vacation and we looked so forward to this game. The game started 30 minutes after we arrived at home and we crossed our fingers for Denmark. I‘d never pray so hard as in these minutes.

Don't watch football, one of my best mates does.. remmwber watching this on screen and my heart sank for a lad a didn't even know, watching the defibs on the the field etc, but the team were genuine champs. Really showed their love and respect for their friend and team mate.

I wasn’t watching the match live. I got a notification from OneFootball confirming the news and I took to Twitter to see what was going on. I still recall the terror rising in my stomach at the sight of Eriksen’s lifeless, blank eyes and body lying on the ground. Even with nearly a year passing, this still sticks with me.
Simon is a human first of all. He is there for you and the best to have next to you to have your six! Thank you simon we have yours too!

I remember watching this and was horrified for his poor girlfriend to have this play out while the cameras were on her. At the time, it was thought that there was very little hope.
His teammates were exceptional. So happy that he was recovered.
Not all captains do this but this is a true captain he would rather help his teammates than just sit there and do nothing he is the most deserved captain
