just wanted to say I recently found your channel. as a very mature data analysis enthusiast, lead and coach prior experience, your breakdowns really appeal to me. not the "please the crowd" that some others do. it's Raw. just as someone who wants to improve should want. and as other teams scouts will have you the player for their opponents. now I don't just say crap for attention or to get approval, I have dove into you a bit as to know your experience. and so far it's checking out and explains why I am liking what I see/hear. just wanted to say good job.
We need a VJ and Alijah arenas breakdown coach. Didnt know Alijah was better than cooper flagg, would like to see what makes him this good and see your breakdown of his game.
I agree with everything u said but I think he’s going to be one those guys that he’s so electric that if he goes to the right team, the flaws in the end won’t matter and he’ll improve on them when the time comes.
Man literally showed why the spurs passed on him. They not tryna waste any time with wemby and just from watching this his timeline wouldn’t match with wemby. Summer league he looked pretty good but he fits better with the timberwolves who lacked that kinda guy off the bench and they don’t necessarily need him right away. This is a REALLY insightful vid
after watching this video, I really hope rob watches it, he’s been my favorite player since i’ve watched him live at big shots in 2021. Most film breakdowns don’t get on him enough about the mistakes he makes even when the play is an highlight like how you do. If he watches this video and takes the constructive criticism the right way, he’ll become a lot greater than he is now.🔥
You are like ThinkingBasketball but for individual skills and techniques. Your insight is valuable. It would be great if you did content showing what players do well as using the same format. The graphics you use really make clear the huge variety of situations and choices players face, that I don't think most other channels do as well.
Love seeing a defense magnet on the floor that the defenders chase - but that magnet better have some good passing skills. Spurs will likely only draft good passers from here on out based on all the frustrations this year.
Poise. Basketball IQ. Leadership. How fast he makes reads. When does he make reads. Ability to create separation. Jumpshot. Ball screen passing. What elite defensive skill does he possess…then I start niching down from there.
haven’t watched the video yet but i keep telling people his game is fitted for being a 6th man. i could see him being a 20 clip off the bench and running a second unit
Great breakdown. Would you compare Rob to Jordan Poole? Also: Unrelated but another set of questions I had for you. How many shots would you make a day for aspiring college players? How would you count those shots? What are specific examples of game-like shots to work on? How would you correct bad habits like a crooked or slanted shot path?
Great questions. 1. Poole is in his prototype as well. He’s a good example because he was the #1 option in Washington and he is averaging less than when he was the 6th man in GSW. Some guys are bench mob. And they win titles. 2. Making 500 shots a day, everyday, however you want to break it up is a realistic goal for anyone who wants to play college. If you want to hit 500 layups, practicing different angles and spots all over the backboard repetitively for a high number of makes is how Kyrie has his layup package. You know your own weaknesses. Work on them and then save working on your strengths for later in the workout to preserve that late effort confidence boost. 3. Anytime there is a problem with your shot, go shoot free throws. Use that time to adjust any technical issues. Once you can consistently make 10 free throws in a row, you’ll be able to use that as a mastery gauge for any adjustments to your shot.
@@DorianGroup82 Thank you so much. Ever since the Cooper Flagg video, I’ve been watching your breakdowns to see what I could adjust myself, and they’ve been very helpful and insightful for me as a player. I really appreciate your perspective and I’m going to work hard to apply every single thing you’ve said. Keep going and God bless ✊🏾
I feel like as im watching this he has more talent than skill but his talent is so good that if he worked to fixed these errors he would be a much more complete pg
I never watched him much but if bro was coming in in 2018 when the position was more open, and that's not saying he's not bad like we'll look at him as even a great second option but why I feel like guys his size ( he's not even that undersized league just getting that large) almost everything got to be on point, be a do it all PG which is real tough
He’s always struck me as more of a Lou Williams type. He’s gonna be a bucket in the NBA, but he’s also likely going to be getting flamed on defense pretty consistently.
A more dynamic Immanuel Quickley, Tyrese Maxey, Bones Hyland! the good and the bad! This much ISO dribbling won’t work much in the modern nba ! He’s gonna need to simplify his game! His current skills are still EXTREMELY good and valuable tho! But yes, he’s got ALOT of simplifying and cleaning up to do! Seems like KU loves these extra fast PGs! Quickley and Maxey !
At 10:15 look at the clock. They are trying to get threes as they are down 11 with close to a minute left. He probably wouldve drove to the basket there if they had more time in the game.

I said the same thing about his comparison being Malik Monk. Also, kind of reminds me of Bones Hyland.
@JaehaeraTargaryen_ I agree, Monk is a score-first guard. Rob has the ability to be more of a true combo guard than Monk.
Bones is the first guy I think of when I see Rob
I think the most realistic player comp is probably a Bones Hyland, really crafty and shifty scoring but with lack luster playmaking and defense.
