How lovely. I have been a fan of Flores for about 25 years, even when the "big 3" were on the go. I love his voice and this performance: tempo changes, dynamics and interpretation. Lovely accompaniment for most part. Saw him live at Classic Brit awards moons ago and have never forgotten him. JUST A LOVELY PERFORMANCE.

Juan Diego Flórez gusta al que no sabe y vuelve loco al que sabe. El auténtico tenor ligero belcantista, maestro del legato y el fraseo, de fiato inagotable. Elegante y correcto en todos los registros que toca, el mejor tenor de nuestro tiempo, probablemente el mejor ligero grabado. Un peruano enseñando al viejo mundo cómo se hacen las cosas. I heard him sing that on Saturday Afternoon at the Opera on CBC when he was singing in L'Elisir d'amore. OMG! The audience shouted "Encore!" And he did! My heart was going pitty pat. I saw him in recital once in Vancouver. He's just - he takes your breath away.

Yes this is what I call a natural tenor. He can sing open much higher than other tenors, and he covers much later in the register. As a result he has such easy high notes. Yet the draw back is they might be very well projected but they will never have the dark and round sound of a "less natural tenor." His is a voice that is an act of nature. I love it. Must be what Schippa or Valleti sounded like in their prime.

Tenore leggero is not more tenore than a dramatic one.

Hay muchos tenores ligeros maravillosos, pero el timbre de JDF, lo ha hecho único, por algo no es el mejor del mundo. Tiene el récord de haber cantado de manera casi exclusivamente lo más difícil de Rossini, por 22 años seguidos, los grandes tenores se preguntaban: hasta cuándo podrá hacerlo?

Agree! She’s an artist as an accompanist. The best love her as she not only plays beautifully but comprehensively understands the music and singers. Recently heard her accompany Benjamin Bernheim (delightful young lyrical tenor) who I understand she coaches.. Juan Diego has a voice which simply melts hearts (voice like honey) Together with his articulation I find him most mesmerising.

Heeeeeey - he's gotten better! I have an "old" recording of him doing this song, and his vibrato is so over-the-top and badly controlled that he sounds like a goat. Now this is what I call a turnaround - he has gone from doing my least favourite version, to now being one of my favourites. Well done, Sr Florez!
