+Matthew Rigby: Ok I saw their updates, wow! that's a cr*p ton of updates. but they have been updating for 3 years, but still. seems like they have working prototypes, where did you say they didn't ... Did you not get your product yet?

no product they have told us that they won't be able to continue research basically for two reasons. 1 they spent all the money and have non left so even if they had a ready to produce product they have no money now to produce it and would try and do another crowdfunding or get someone to give them money to continue trying to make it but that unless someone gives them money and specifically says it is to refund us there is no way we will be refunded. Also the working prototypes have to be assisted by string and a small propeller otherwise they crash within 10 seconds also they break within a few mins of use. I will never use crowdfunding again it's a disaster. Anyway people also paid for a Google pad or some equivalent tablet and they spent that money too so supporters aren't even getting that. I'm sure there were issues with delayed money with PayPal and indiegogo but that is just excuses. they could have told us from the word go that it was delayed and would mean they can't start work yet. They didn't communicate that until over a year in probably because they were worried we would cancel our payment within 3 months. I wouldn't have I am many others put 100% faith into Jayant that he and his team knew what they were doing. they asked for only $110 000 to complete the project they got over 1 million. so obviously they couldn't even start it on $110 000 let alone any more money.

+Matthew Rigby Having funded as much as I have, I know campaigns don't put a high ball number for minimum they need, they put a lower hanging fruit so supporters can get them over the ledge. I think they did the same. I'm pretty sure they knew their requirement was much higher. People tend to fund more when they know the project is over and above it's minimum threshold. Wouldn't be surprised given the complexity of the product those guys tried to do, that they would have atleast needed a million to even start. tinycomb.com/2009/10/08/harvard-grabs-10m-to-build-robo-bees/ (just a random search)

+TheRobHacker I've heard of notorious infractions by PayPal, maybe the kids from school got scared they will loose their money or something. bet couldn't be easy for people to deal with giants like the PayPals and the Indiegogos... i'm going to search some on Indiegogo's history as well, I doubt they didn't know about their mess before they landed with the Dragonfly lottery on their website
