@@jjrealestategthose aren’t called water spots. The water is beading as intended and will trickle down easier than the left side after a short time of driving. Looks like the ceramic coated side will be getting tonnes more water spots than the non-coated side. What is the actual benefit thst ceramic coatings provide that make them worth dealing with those water spots?
Waterspots happen on uncoated cars as well. Rain does not cause water spots. Coatings have many benefits, chemical resistance, extended life of the paint, easier maintenance, higher resale value are some of them.
in the case of snow, it's not so much beading that you're looking for with a coating as it is the panel self cleaning and having less snow on your paint during winter:)
@diydetailofficial thank you. So it's kinda like a layer of paint the ceramic coating? And will it break down/ wash off after so many washes? Or years? ..thxs again

@@diydetailofficial I have not used a ceramic coating yet. My car is 20 years old and the paint is severely faded at this point. Never garaged and parked in the heat and sand storms of the Mojave Desert. However, I've used McGuires carnauba wax on the car roughly every 2-4 weeks for the life of the car so far. Never buffed the car and only clay barred the car 2 times. The paint held up very well for the first 18 years despite the weather conditions I subjected it to. At 18 years old, the car looked like it was new. Most people never believed me when I told them I like it sit through sand storms with wind gusts of 30+ MPH. The paint truly looked far better than cars half its age at 18 years old. However, looks are deceiving so some extent. The clear coat was being baked from the sun, blasted by the sand and even gentle washing with good car care products had its effect over time. Nevertheless, I give a lot of credit to the wax for doing an outstanding job for so many years. Unfortunately after the 18th year, wax is doing little to protect the car anymore. The clear coat is definitely gone on the hood, roof and plastic components (bumpers, mirror caps, door handles, etc). Later this year I hope to garage the car, disassemble it, refresh everything under the hood and under carriage and if all of that works out, I'll get the car repainted. At that point I'll make a decision on PPF/ceramic coating and the car will be kept in a garage from that point, forward. I appreciate your reply.

Cerakote ceramic isn’t very good. I like their plastic protection though.

Excited to try out the coating! Is the coating SiO2, SiC?
Si02.

The person applying it has the most effect.
Yes it does have an effect on it...
More water bead clinging on means more water spots when the sun dried it?
Yes
Gotta get a coating that sheets ie. Carpro finest
Does it protects the paint form scratches and ageing?
And please let me. Know how to remove this coat over a period?
No scratch protection, but prevents fading.
Removed with polishing.

It does prevent small scratches
New to this. Was the ceramic on the left or right?
On the right where the water is beading is where the coating is.
does this protect from sun damage? i park my car outside in the sun while im at work
Yes
There is more water staining on then ceramic side - more water clinging
Actually the opposite, on the coated side it’s gathered up in beads, on the non coated side it’s a full sheet of water
Same thing happens with basic wax

Look on the trunk lid, where the water is beading (right side) is where it’s coated
More water on the coating
The side with the coating has beads, the non coated side has a sheet of water.
I don't think you know what a sheet of water is guy. @diydetailofficial
Will a sealant such as quick beads provide similar protection? So long as I don't mind applying it every couple months?
Yes, it will provide good protection.

Why is ceramic coating better than carnauba wax?
A wax lasts a maximum of 3 months, a coating will last years. A coating provides much better chemical resistance.

Ceramic coating is a scam cause scotty said so
Some are actually. The ones you see advertised as miracle products that you never need to wash your car again, I agree with Scotty
You'd see the same thing with a cheap wax job... so.. NOT a good demonstration
Not after 6 months and 70+ car washes
