    NOTE: Reaction Ay was solved as -664.9N in the first part of the problem, so at cut E, the direction of the reaction is changed to remove the negative sign!
    Sorry for not explaining this in the video, I missed it while solving for the video. Once again, thanks for watching and leave any questions below!

      @@_YNO Hi, I hope I can explain it simply here.
      Basically, when using the equations of equilibrium for forces in the Y direction, we have a set Y convention, where upwards is positive and downwards is negative . When we finish initially solving for Ay at 3:30, we are left with a negative answer. This means that since we initially drew Ay downwards, we actually have an upwards reaction! Therefore, when taking the cut, I change the way Ay is drawn by directing it upwards. This removes the need to work with an additional negative sign.
