Im going to be completely real, its probably the best Metal ive heard since Maidens Senjutsu a couple years ago, it feels good, Blind Leading The Blind is my personal metal song of the year, just in my opinion of course, and Do Or Die is just as good, so im beyond excited for the full record, im not as lucky as you to have heard the album yet hahaha, but im planning to buy the CD 100%. Thank you for this interview, Mr Faulkner is one of a kind
One of my oldest friends and ex bandmates Tommy McWilliams co-wrote and produced this album with Richie.. so am I biased? Well guys, I'm a metal guitarist for life, so yeah, of course..(and Tommy is my soul brotha) but seriously, what I've heard so far (including some ultra-top-secret demos) is hair raising head banging metal goodness in the most grand tradition.. in short? This album kicks ass. Blind Leading the Blind is like my morning coffee track..I can't stop singing that chorus!
The immediate pace at which Richie won over Judas Priest fans just on his first tour with them alone was just crazy. He always comes off as such a decent guy and his skills and style are a great fit. He didn’t really imitate KK or anything either, he just did his own thing and ran with it and it was great. Really impressed honestly given how the KK and Glenn combo is such an iconic duo.
@@EattheApple666 And he injected some new life into the band to the point that they even recorded more records with him. Richie was originally brought to fill in duties for Priests retirement tour. Sometimes things just happen and for the better. Now we have two amazing Priest bands with KK's PRIEST
What a really nice guy Richie is. Great guitar player, very respectful, extremely knowledgeable, funny and interesting. This was a really good interview. 🤘🤘
Holy Sh*t!! I was also at that Costa Rica Iron Maiden concert (my first time seeing Maiden!) and I also had the same reaction seeing Richie! You have to tell the story of how you ended up in Costa Rica! It was a magical concert, the first time that any band that big ever went to Central America, me and my brother drove 10 hours to be there. It was a dream come true and just an insane crowd.
WOW! I'm 53 years old, I've been a hard-core Priest fan since I was a kid. I've seen them in concert at least 25 times and I'm really happy they are still around. (GOD BLESS KK.) I am thrilled that they found him. He seems like a really great guy, and fits in perfectly with the band. If Priest is only around for a bit longer, they are better for bringing him in when they did. Great pick!! Great interview
Honestly I am soo hyped JP's new album is gonna be released soon its unreal. Richie is a huge composer and guitarist that's for sure. Definitely gave this band new shot of life
Richie, youre the man! Such a brilliant guitarist, perfect fit in Priest, one of the best metal bands, yet you are so humble and such a down to earth gent. Thank you metal pilgrim, great channel. Good to see youre strong and healthy Richie, so good.
I love how Richie is still just a fan at heart. And although I love Priest; Maiden is my favorite. So , this interview makes me love Ritchie even more… And yes, I hear the Murray influence in his playing.
The coolest part about this is how much of a fan Richie is, as well as being a sick as hell guitar player. It's like the perfect bridge as a fan into the insights of the big metal bands in the world. Thanks for making this happen, it was nice of him to give you the credit you also deserve too!
Excellent interview. It's so cool seeing how your channel is getting such mad respect in the metal community. Giving us such amazing Metal information. 🤘🇺🇦
Richie is a great person and guitar player. He has been a perfect fit in Judas Priest. I am so glad he is okay now after his heart issue he had onstage. His playing was outstanding when i seen Priest live. Thank you Richie for keeping Priest young -strong -and dominate in the world of metal. You are a true hero and legend in your own right. Elegant Weapons is so awesome and badass! They will be huge if they arent already. Godspeed to them all.
Judas Priest will always be my favorite band. 43 yrs now I have been a fan. They could have searched for years and not found a better fit than Faulkner. He stepped in and made a impact on the music. The band seemed to be energized again. I’m a Faulkner fan and even when the sad day comes that Priest calls it a career I’ll keep up with Richie going forward. He is a great guy and insane guitarist. Big fan👍
I do hear some Dave Murray DNA in there which I think is wonderfull!!! As kids when we first discovered Maiden, we'd call him Frog for the faces he made playing! It was like the chords were tied to his facial expressions! Love him and Maiden to this day! Wishing Ritchie the best! Beyond great playing, he seems like a good guy.
Loved it! You're a great interviewer. One tiny complaint, though: I wish you had found the time to talk about his collaboration with the legendary Christopher Lee (RIP). But apart from that, awesome job!
Though SiT was not the first Maiden album I listened to, it was the first one I bought on my own as a teen. Ever since then, it’s been my favorite Maiden album, and probably my favorite album overall. Love seeing him fanboy out like that!
Fabulous LP I purchased the gold vinyl and managed to get it signed at Steelhouse Festival South Wales when I met Richie and the band and managed to get 2 of his plectrum down the front. I have videos of the show on youtube. 😁
I totally agree with Richie Faulkner. You don't want to be repeating yourself over and over again. And Judas Priest has never done that, which is awesome and why we love them.
Well EVERY band did and does this tbh. Its logical and inevitable in a certain longer time. You DO want to walk a successful path of proven topics and albums
I'd much rather have Ken in Judas Priest but no one but Ritchie could take Ken's place in Priest. Excited for the new Judas Priest album but Ritchie's new band is excellent as well! Glenn also made solo albums, Baptism of Fire etc. With John Entwhistie on bass as well. I still listen to both! I remember Ritchie playing lead guitar on Christopher Lee's Metal album and producing it before Priest. Piece of Mind and Shenjutsu are my favorite Maidens and Piece of Mind is my first live tour with them, im old ...lol
I saw you play with lauren in Canada and you were an extreme standout on that stage. A total pro and it showed. The rest of that band not so much. Not being mean it's just the truth. I hope Ritchies career keeps on progressing. Good luck dude
Could not agree more with Richie on "Painkiller No.3, Firepower No. 2 etc" Priest definitely does not need to repeat themselves. Their catalogue is so huge it is not necessary at all. Firepower was a huge record and very successful one, but it is time to move on so far. What I have always loved about Priest was that they were not afraid to innovate and incorporate new elements into their music. I'd love to hear some Ghost elements in their new music, some instrumental kinda Nostradamus and much more. Richie and Rob are a guaranty it is gonna be superb album too. I totally can't wait for their next album and hope the very 1st teaser is gonna be released this year at least.
You's guys could always get Metallica to press your album at their facility. Right? "Sin After Sin" wouldn't be a bad album to revisit! (If you were goin to do that kind of thing - virtue signal)
*What do you think about Richie's new band Elegant Weapons?*
I'm a huge fan obviously 😎
Richie Faulkner demonstrates how Jimi Hendrix would approach Heavy Metal.

Not very good. I'm not a fan of that cheesy try-hard singer - he's as bad as Ripper Owens. Richie is great though.

I think it was so easy because he is a Priest head like the rest of us.

RF is a nice guy. I wish him a long, wealthy and healthy live. Priest FOREVER.

Got a chance to see Elegant Weapons opening for Pantera in Prague and I was blown away, can't wait to see more of this band!
I fucking love RIchie... I think he must have been one of the VERY best replacements possible that took KKs spot. Hes phenomenal!!!
Honestly I am soo hyped JP's new album is gonna be released soon its unreal. Richie is a huge composer and guitarist that's for sure. Definitely gave this band new shot of life
What a Great Interview🤘🤘
Really a guitar beast! Amazing player!

Awesome interview ! 👍
Really fun hearing him talk like an Iron Maiden fanboy like the rest of us!
Great Interview as always. Stay safe man 👍
Thanks man! Glad you enjoyed it

Ritchie always had his own sound.

Great show long live Rock and Roll 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘♠️♠️♠️♠️🥰
Absolutely amazing dude. Sounds very sincere in everything he says. I hope, it is truly the case
Great interview, really enjoyed it.
Thank you! So glad you did!
Can't wait for the next album.
Painkiller record encouraged me to learn guitar.
Awesome!

Richie comes across as an absolute top boy. Clearly watches MP and loves the scene!
Love the interviews you've been doing Vlad. Class and no egos. The Metal community is in good shape. Be interesting to see how pop interviews compare.
Thank you so much! So glad you enjoy these!
I have that exact same lamp that Richie has behind him! Cool.
Mate he’s a top bloke & he’s got a great sense of humour 🇦🇺👍
UFO story was cool!
Loved it! You're a great interviewer.
One tiny complaint, though: I wish you had found the time to talk about his collaboration with the legendary Christopher Lee (RIP). But apart from that, awesome job!
Ahhhhhh hes a Somewhere in Time geek like me thats dope!

Piece of Mind is a fukkin amazing Maiden record and probably their best one. Revelations could single handedly be the best song eva
Love schenker who is still touring and releasing new music
I saw you play with lauren in Canada and you were an extreme standout on that stage. A total pro and it showed. The rest of that band not so much. Not being mean it's just the truth. I hope Ritchies career keeps on progressing. Good luck dude
Richie is such a cool guy and an even hotter guitar player 🔥incredible guy and player I’ll be checking out his band
hahaha first time i saw faulkner was with lauren harris opening for maiden in 2018. my pals and i 100% noticed the killer leads coming from stage left
You mean 2008?
@@MrDantres ah yes, not sure what happened there-i saw him with priest in 2018 haha

╚╬╝ JUDAS PRIEST ╚╬╝
The greatest band in the history of music. Period. End of story. No contest.
19:50 Okay, we know now that the next single would be Horns for a Halo xD
Great interview as always, have to check out hes new band asap.
I think Nostradamus is a masterpiece, Slava Ukraina.
Cool dude's both of you. Slava Ukraini. Love from the U.S
😍😍😍
So where did the idea for the pilgrim name come from
Next? Maybe Adrian Smith ?
2 Real Deals!!!
Hendrix was his main influence.
Did ya'll know that Richie can speak fluid Swedish??!....😂
Fun fact....
That's my last name
Nice geezer, dodgy syrup
Richie's dream is to play in Iron Maiden. Priest was an (happy) accident in life. His riffs are all in Maiden's way.
Ehmm...sure man. It was STEVE'S dream to have Richie in IM at a certain point
You's guys could always get Metallica to press your album at their facility. Right?
"Sin After Sin" wouldn't be a bad album to revisit! (If you were goin to do that kind of thing - virtue signal)
So what do they have in the water in BRITAIN the best bands in the world come from there PRIEST MADEIN and SABBATH
The reason he dropped on stage was the covid injection, so if he doesn't get any more of those, fingers crossed it won't happen again
Bingo!!!!! Too many people having heart issues after Covid shot…
