*Are you planning on seeing Judas Priest on the 50 Years of Heavy Metal Tour? If so, where?*
Unfortunately I live in Europe but I would totally go if I lived in the US🤘
@@bobberyrob7973 They are coming to Europe in 2022! It's confirmed!🤘
In Oct in NJ, Prudential Center.
Tickets in my pocket.
Budapest waiting
@Metal Pilgrim LETS GO!!
It's amazing how Rob managed to save his voice to these days. Freaking legend.
We will wait for Judas Priest in Kyiv!
Rob is a walking ICON. His music is the soundtrack of my whole life. I could not imagine my life without JP. With KK and Glenn they were the best band to ever exist. -Period. Robs voice has dominated the metal world for 50 years +.and still today! No metal band will ever match the legacies of Judas Priest -Black Sabbath -or Iron Maiden. I love German metal as well but British metal will always rule.
Dude I was 15 in 1980 say no more.. it was all killer for the time ..immediately i got hell bent, unleashed and point of entry then bammm screaming then defenders what a string how could it continue..... ...........
@@zandig666 Those were the golden years. Metal was king and we were rock n roll children. We will all meet one day beyond the rainbow bridge and rock once again. Keep on defending the faith brother!
Rob!!!!!!!
Glenn and k.k is THE best guitar duo in history.... nobody even comes close to their sound
They complement each other soooo good... Individually they're not the greatest guitar players, but together they're Magical....
@@AnnWahlquist right?
I’d love for Rob to give “Blood Stained”, “Bullet Train”, or “Cathedral Spires” a try. This is the 50 Metal Years tour, and that era is part of that legacy.
I agree!
Cheers from Portugal 🤘🍺
Yeah, it's a blemish on that legacy.
Absolutely! Cathedral Spires and Bullet Train are 2 of their best ever songs. Ripper did a spectacular job and this part of their history should be represented in the setlist.
@@hinjurock70 and why do you say that? Please elaborate.
@@SethWorsham
Because Ripper is an annoying try-hard to poser with a fake-sounding voice and the songs on those albums were pretty B grade.
I wish Glen and KK were still touring in Judas Priest.
Won’t happen again unfortunately, but KK’s new band sounds badass, so there’s at least that.
@@sadboi7537 The album's already released?
@sc Ian will still be head bobbing on stage somewhere long after all of us are dead ! It's like they formed around him.
@Y my Dad has Parkinson’s . Unfortunately I doubt there will be a cure any time soon. It can be controlled with medicine some what. But that just delays the inevitable. These guys are kinda long in the tooth. There isn’t a whole lot of time left. That’s why it’s such a shame they haven’t reconciled .
@@sadboi7537 I heard one of their new songs on RUclips, dont remember which one, but it literally sounded like 2 Priest songs combined into one! I couldnt believe how similar it was! I have been a Priest fan since 85 and LOVE JP, but I dont at all dig what I heard from KK.
I doubt Rob reads stuff here but I just want him to know that his vocals on "the last rose of summer" are sublime.
Yes Last Rose, but equally top tier from Rob is Run of the Mill
I played this song for my mom, she did not like Judas Priest after listening to that she said it was okay to continue buying Priest albums , Tipper Gore Days ! Gee my mom is COOL ! 😆😆😆🎸🎸🎸🌚
Yes. And Dreamer Deceiver/Deceiver and pushing some incredible vocals.
My favorite song from the Painkiller album & my all time favorite Priest song is definitely A TOUCH OF EVIL
I just finished watching this and I loved every second of it...and there's something I want to say...Thank you Rob for your words about Glenn. Every word you said about him moved me to tears. I've been a devoted fan of Glenn for as long as I can remember...more than 30 years for sure...and the news about his illness left me devastated. But there's no illness that can beat him. He's ...OMG I have no words to express what I feel...He's ...brighter than a thousand suns. Once again thanks Rob for every words said about Glenn. And thank you Metal Pilgrim for this interview which is a precious gem. Stay metal you all. 🤘
This was an excellent interview that was more like a casual chat between friends. Rob is so genuine and his love for metal and Priest fans is still as true as ever. I’d like to say this about Glenn Tipton: A) He is missed on that stage. B) He is nearly as important to the development of heavy metal as Mr. Tony Iommi. Glenn wrote the majority of Judas Priest’s music (which is why his name appears first on all those songwriting credits) and his riffs and solos set a very high bar and influenced countless guitarists over the decades. His contributions to metal can’t be undervalued and I hope he knows how beloved he is by Priest fans the world over. While I’m happy to see the band carry on touring, even without his constant presence, I don’t think anything can possibly match the intensity, professionalism and sheer majesty of seeing Priest in 1982 (with Maiden opening). That band was a fine-tuned wrecking machine and left every member of the audience in stunned awe, as we were leaving the venue. Thank you, Rob and Glenn, for the many years of amazing music, both on record and on stage. I wish you and the whole band continued success and the best of health and happiness. Same to you, Vlad, and thank you for another stellar installment of Metal Pilgrims. Two horns up! 🤘🏼🤘🏼
I love Rob Halford! Just finished his autobiography.
It is one of the best rock books I've read!
Yes Glenn Tipton you are loved so much--"literally unmatched" as a guitar player; and you too Rob Halford. And you too KK Downing. "We're all in this together." Great to hear Rob expressing Glenn's greatness, to hear of Glenn's grace, and of Ritchie honoring Glenn's solos. Thank you!
I met him about 20 years ago. I got to tell him that he and Judas Priest helped inspire me to love music and play guitar and all the rock instruments. Seemed like he loved to hear that and thanked me. He was a super nice guy. To this day my wife tells people we met the singer of Iron Maiden!!!!! 😳😀Don't worry, i correct her every time
An absolutely amazing interview with a pure Metal God! I really appreciate the opportunity to observe what’s going on “from the balcony!” )
It was an absolute honour to welcome Rob on the channel
Wow… just wow. What a great interview with Rob. I love the fact that Glenn is still a part of Priest.
I have a Glenn story in fact.
I was 3rd row floor with a girl I had been hot for for months. Scored the British Steel tour tickets, asked her to go and BAM, there we were. We were having a great time when Glenn points at my date and a big piece of muscle comes from stage left, picks my gal up and hauls her back stage! I was, to say the least, a little perturbed. I went home after what was a great, but frustrating show.
I go to this girls house the next day to ask her WTF happened? She started getting sick to her stomach as soon as she got back there and vomited through the rest of the set. When Priest came off stage it was KK who brought her a cold towel for her head. Classy move KK.
We only went out a few times but I still think of that girl and the night that Glenn Tipton thought she was hot too.
Rob is still the METAL GOD!!! he is like 70 and he is still kicking ass, (vince neil take notes and learn) better then ever!!! cant wait to see the Priest Sept,8 in Reading, Pa. \m/\m/\m/
Wince can take all the notes he wants, but Rob has the one thing he’ll never have: NATURAL TALENT. You’re comparing a turd to a flawless diamond.
Right on Rob....yall did invent heavy metal....from the smell..to the spell....yall did it brotherman..72 and still doing it...thats gr8
Rob Halford. What a man! What a lovely man. Our childhood superstar. This video was great!
+Rock And Roll thank you so much for the feedback! It was an honour to welcome Rob on the show!🤘
Priest was my first concert on my 15th birthday in 1984. My sister brought me to the concert, may she RIP since she died way too early. He rode out on a motorcycle and I was a heavy metal fan forever after that.
I am far from being a metalhead, but right now I started listening all of their records, concert videos and everything else I could find - and I'm stunned that they really was and still is the best band. Not in the metal kind, but for me, music kind. A new door opens before me, and I stepped in with gratitude. Thanks for the Metal God and his army for the excellent world they created to all music lovers!
70 лет Rob Halford отметил 25 августа, а он КРАСАВА ещё как зажигает! Long Live Rob Halford!
The landscape of the midlands seemed so important to Priest. With the guitar work by kk and Glenn there was a real gestation in their lead that really became locomotive like, the way they did those runs that sounded like gears picking up in horsepower. It is truly unique to them. I deeply appreciate how they’ve all spoke of the soundscape imprinting on them. It works so well with the “not to distant metal future” they developed lyrically and visually. I’d be fascinated to hear robs thought on the Detroit music scene as sort of the American counterpart to the midlands. Can’t understate how much priest has enhanced my life for years.
Glad I found this interview. Very good one and great to see the man, the legend, the Metal God, Mr. Rob Halford doing well and still enjoying life! I can't wait for the new LP to be released and hope to see them live again someday!
What an excellent interview. Your style of questioning and selection of questions, combined with an obvious enthusiasm for the subject are spot on. Also as usual Rob is very good as a subject, truly the “Metal God”. Thank you.
A great joy to watch 👌👍
Wow thank you so much for the feedback! It was an honour to welcome Rob on the show!
Man, one of my first owned albums was Screaming for Vengance; got a second hand vinyl (shortly before Painkiller came out)
Many years later I rode 4 hours through a mostly dark highway with tight corners after a 13 hr work day... Got to see them play at very small venue (a casino in Cucamonga), they were fantastic! Tipton was to me, a metal Eric Clapton, and Halford was in perfect form. Rickie Faulker was a complete surprise, to me he was like Randy Roads in Priest, just amazing and he absolutely killed it.
Still remember just how small the stage was, and they still brought out the Harley. Priest is really amazing!!
Personally, glad KK's Priest is also doing things in parallel. As far as I'm concerned you can never have enough Priest and both are just top notch
I love Painkiller, and love the metal God Rod. I listen to this thousands of times and I like breaking the law too. Rob looks different with that beard, looks sharp. One of the toughest songs to play on Guitar Hero games. Judas Priest drummer, guitarists are Rob are true legends in music. You are awsome. 🤘🏳️🌈 👍
@Metal Pilgrim / Vlad,
Thank you for that well-presented interview with Rob Halford. I watched it in its entirety (as well as most of your episodes). IMO, your content is some of the best in the Metal community.
Based on video that I have seen of Rob Halford performing (sporting the white beard and before the Pandemic), I think he is struggling at that ripe age of 78/79 and really needs to retire. He can no longer hit those legendary notes much last an entire 1-1/2 to 2 hour sets.
I am certainly OK with singers/musicians, athletes and artists in any discipline retiring when it is their time to do so...especially when what they are able to produce is far less than what they did in there heyday.
As far as my TOP 5 Judas Priest studio albums are concerned, here they are (in order...least to best...and a list you will see from no other JP fan):
5- British Steel
4- Ram It Down
3- Screaming For Vengeance
2- Defenders Of The Faith
1- Point Of Entry
Rob, you are my favorite favorite vocalist ever!!! You’ve always inspired me. But please think about bringing back KK. My best, Vernon
It would be good to see KK with Priest again.
Awesome interview. Rob halford is a true legend
The best Rob’s interview ever! Thanks man!🤘👏
Thank you so much for the feedback! It was an honour to welcome Rob on the show!🤘
This is one of my favorite recent Rob interviews. Thank you! Can’t wait to see Priest this September! 🤘
Thank you so much for the feedback! It was an honour to welcome Rob on the show! And yea, waiting for the tour!
They are coming to San Antonio Texas in October
I've been a Judas Priest fan since 4 years old! Long live Heavy Metal!!!!!!!
Judas Priest and Black Sabbath are the founders of Heavy Fuckin Metal! Big Facts! Enough Said! Priest f'n rules!
Black Sabbath - Heavy, Judas Priest - Metal!
Actually Jimi Hendrix started Metal !!!!!
Amen rock on
Blue Cheer.
Priest is definitely on top of that list, but don't forget about Motorhead
Awesome interview. Rob Halford rules. I love Judas Priest forever...
Thank you for the feedback! It was an honour for me!
The Priest saved my life! Such a gift to the music world! They give voice to the people… full of energy, love, passion, intellect, Rob is the M.G.!!!
So appreciate his honesty and shared life journey with the masses! Generous Loving Role Model. “Pushing back into the light!” Eternally grateful.
wonderful and thoughtful questions. well done pilgrim and light and love to rob, metal and the priest
I'm a 80s metal head. That was the best decade for it. I'm still listening to old school heavy metal including NWOBHM. 🤘 Keep head bangin' all you fellow metal heads. Keep the faith always.
I wish you would do "Epitaph" from Sad Wings live --- my life would be complete if I hear that slower song with the piano and your voice with those lyrics. BY FAR my fav non-heavy song. I've listed to it 30 times in a row on multiple days of my long life :)
That would be absolutely awesome! Would love to see it live!
I have been listening to Hellfire Thunderbolt 20 times a day for the last month. So Priest are an amazing band.
Unfortunately, they never do some of the best songs...they just do the radio hits...that part sucks...but still fun!
Man did I love all of Rob's leather, spikes, screaming, metal and motorcycles thing - all of that was the coolest - thank you for the interview
holy shit man, I've been a priest fan my whole life, and Halford has bee my inspiration for most of my life too. I never met him in person and I don't know how you kept your posture hahahaha, I'd be just crying the whole time I guess. Thank you so much for this interview and I wish you are safe and well man. That this shit passes soon. keep strong and know that you have a friend from Brazil.
Fascinating interview! You've done a great job bro.
Thank you so much for the feedback! It was an honour to welcome Rob on the show!
One of Britian's greatest rock singers of all time. FIREPOWER, grrreat & ROB's book an absolute MUST! New JUDAS PRIEST album coming, fantastic!
Right on. Man I love to see Rob still bouncing around. My favorite band of all time for sure. I still have the concert poster you all signed for me at the Ft Lauderdale hard Rock in 2014 hanging in the studio.
Keep rocking Rob.
Rob Halford my favorite Metal singer! Love Judas Priest!
Man I was introduced to Judas Priest back in 1979 right after I saw my first “rock” concert in Dallas which was Nazareth and Thin Lizzy and a week or so a friend said check these guys out. And was Stained Class. Omg my mind was blown! Holy shit who sings like this ? Who plays and writes like this? I was hooked. Had to go backwards and forwards to previous and later albums. Being a musician guitar and vocals at 16 cutting my teeth on blue grass, Chet Atkinson, Johnny Cash, Chuck Berry, Elvis , Jackson 5 ,Earth Wind and Fire, The Eagles, Thin Lizzy, Nazareth etc… and the natural progression was enlightenment The Metal God. Lol.
Robs voice was like nobody I had ever heard. So versatile, so powerful, so visual. Rob and Elvis taught me how yo really sing. To project and to sing from the ground right up thru your balls , thru your chest and as the pressure builds, it explodes out your mouth like you’ve just struck oil , and it’s shooting or shouting right to the heavens!! Hallelujah amen! A victim of changes no doubt. For the better.
Thank you Rob Halford for the gift of your voice and music. 🤘🏻😎🤘🏻
Hey, that was the BEST interview with Halford I have ever seen!
Great job!
Thank you so much for the feedback! It was an honour to welcome Rob on the show!
Rob basically confirmed RAW DEAL will be played when they tour, that is great news.
That would be absolutely awesome!
Hell yeah, that's great news, looking forward to it ! 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Take On The World, would be another badass addition to the tour....
@@dalelangley1604 Would love to hear it live, that would be awesome!
Judas Priest my favorite British heavy metal bands. Love all of their albums from the first album to Judas Priest Live CD. But my favorite Judas Priest CD is Unleashed in the East the original and expanded vetsion.

Could you imagine the metal god halford wearing air pods? Could never imagine in the 70’s and 80’s i love it
The interviewer is great, so much respect for the subject. And Rob Halford is just a great fella, I've always liked him. I'm not really much of a metal head these days but Judas Priest are curious in that they both exemplify the genre and manage to be highly accessible outside of it without really compromising their sound. 'Breaking the law', 'You've Got Another Thing Coming' are brilliant rock tunes regardless and 'Exciter' is like a blueprint for metal. They are a national treasure. And they always did the best album covers imho.
Very interested to see if interviewer dares to ask Rob one or two questions about KK. Which would seem pretty logical questions to touch upon.
It's the elephant in the room at this point.
Yeah, unless Rob is being weird about it and refusing to take the questions, I don't know why you wouldn't ask. They're all adults
@@libertyprime6932 because he always avoids the topic. No guts to really confront it
I agree and how Dynamic the new songs from KK are. I listened to Redeemer of souls last night, the double album and it really misses KK as does Firepower. I always thought Ritchie was more of a Randy Rhoads player.

Ah I hate I missed that I'm in Wilmington nc myself. The internet makes the world so small haha.
Confess is quite the read. I have nothing but respect for Robb H
So awesome!
I have on tape an interview with Halford and legendary Los Angeles DJ, Jim Ladd, from 1980. Ladd is still alive at 73. I have on tape a Rockline interview with Rob, KK, and Glenn, promoting either Screaming or Defenders from around '83. It was the first time I ever heard a rockstar use the word "amalgamation". That was Glenn.
In same show a girl called in and told Glenn she'd heard he was married. He then denied being married. In ironic fashion. With mock outrage, yelling, "LIARS, LIARS!"
I remember in Junior High and High School, girls really dug Glenn. More so than KK believe it or not. KK was the blonde pinup. But the cooler girls went for Glenn, realizing that he was actually the best-looking of the two. Plus he was darkly menacing. Some girls are drawn to that. The cheerleaders were Team KK. The scary burnout girls were Club Glenn. The guys who held up the cheerleaders were Team Rob.
Some stoned kid called into the radio show. (This is all from memory). He could barely talk. And KK says, "Are ya avin' a party John?" As a 13 year old American kid, I never understood why KK thought the kid was having a party. The kid sounded boring and there was no party noise in the background. When I grew up I realized "party" means "illegal substances" Anyway, I still use that phrase to mess with friends when they sound f**ked up. "Are you having a party Steve?" But I say it KK's accent. It sounds funnier that way.
Please get that transferred and posted
That sounds fantastic!!
@@MLBFCollection I never thought to do that. But when I get time I will. When did you get into Priest?

It's funny because Nostradamus is my favorite JP album. It's like Judas Priest meets Nightwish and very emotional. Had it been released earlier in their careers I think it would be a classic.
If guys remastered this album (and added live orchestra, better sound , shorten overlong songs and add audible guitars) the whole album would be fantastic.
Wonderful interview man! Hope you are safe bro.
I also want a cat shirt! Rob, legend, and class act. JP was my first concert ever in 1984, never stopped listening to them or Maiden.
