It's stuff Cassey, stuff to be baught and sold. It's product so it's ok, some folk invested their time , to various degrees, with beme but they would have to be muppets not realise the simple fact that this was just like all the other brightly coloured candy in the candy store;) So you have let no-one down , no one . Carry on creating because that's what you do best :)!

Great review, boys. Really interesting to see the blending of styles, a refreshing way to consume news outside of your typical platforms. It's been a major topic in my journalism classes. In fact, my professor created a new class for next semester where all they do is vlog news stories. Excepted to see how this model plays out.

Holy! Yes this is it! I knew i needed to „build a relationship“ with the hosts to feel more comfortable and that would make it better (even though i already enjoy the videos to a certain extend) but i never knew how. This is genious though. Bring the hosts on the vlog and present them to me from other angles so i can „get warm“ with them. That closing statement really sold it for me. Awesome video overall too but that end really was an eyeopener :D good job!

Wow. I have to say, you guys hit the nail on the head! This is exactly what I would like to see. They also should take this a step further and interlace Beme News with their personal YT Channels, as well as Casey's. Just like how Peter McKinnon and Casey did a few videos together and it made it seem like you needed to watch both videos to get the full story.
I think Beme is awesome. I wish they had a video everyday. I am sure that is the goal and will see it shortly?! Keep up the good work

I love the Beme News channel and the Panels app. I can't count the times I learned something from these for the first time only to hear about the same topic on other news sources a couple days later. They have become a great resource for me on current (and some obscure)topics

I think you guys have some great ideas about beme. I wholeheartedly agree with getting to know the on-screen hosts better. I also think that the panels is a good way for commenters not to be anonymous. Maybe that'll bring a little civility back into online discussion.

I love Beme Videos. I like the personal stories and I would like followups on them also. Getting to know the people telling the stories is a great idea!! Let's do it! Just so you all know... I am one that people might consider me a Senior bit I am right with you guys. There is more to Beme than just a younger audience.

I like beme. I have watched many of the vids. I used to have the beta app but I can't get active on the new app as I am out of the age group targeted. I love the news on chipping and 2 of her other vids on spain and houston flood. I think you are on to something about the hosts getting on Caseys site. I like the in the moment of what is being done at beme. It is not age but attitude on the videos. Coolest video out there today? the Space X launch just after dark this past week. It is the best launch since the 60's when I used to watch the mercury capsules go up. The Doug Ellison video was the best. Be neat to interview. It is an aeronautical masterpiece to see the physics of a space launch with a returnable 1st stage.

There’s no community interaction on panels. Nothing compelling to draw you back in. It’s very limited but it definitely has potential. And I know they care about the development so that’s somewhat promising.

Some good suggestions here, although using Neha as a lab rat is a bit far XD She did some good work covering disaster zones too. Being from Vice I would assume her skills could potentially include the know-how to get the ridiculous levels of access Vice has to cover sketchier/controversial topics first hand.
I think the issue with Beme News is that it's so scattershot at the moment covering so many different topics, it's hit and miss. Compare that to Vox which I would consider to be top of the class in internet news, they also cover a very wide range of topics but go in depth with all of it, all well researched and with a high-production quality.
Interesting point about how many topics they are covering. That's something Samir and I talk about a lot. Do you need to be niche or focus on one type of topic to have a successful channel? Like with our channel, should we just talk about tech and cameras, or just vlog, or just tell documentary style stories, or just talk about boardies....curious on your thoughts here.
It's a frustrating thing I know. I'm sure you want to cover a lot of different things, I have a lot of interests and things I'm passionate about as well. The disappointing reality is that the majority of people don't care that you can do everything well, they want to know the one particular thing you excel. On my Instagram I do travel, portraits, landscapes and all sorts of different things - I get a lot of compliments from friends and anyone I show in person, but after putting insane amounts of time into it and tons of hashtag research etc, I still only have 687 followers on there, whereas tons of other photographers with worse photos have bigger followings. People just like it when you have a niche.
There's a guy I follow @wonguy974 and literally ALL of his posts are just pics of Paris during golden hour. He has 213k. They're nice pictures, sure, but also quite repetitive. It's the same thing all the time, but people like it. People can share his account to their friends with a one phrase pitch - "This guy posts amazing sunset pictures of Paris". That's vital I feel. When people ask what mine is about I say a myriad of things, or something really broad like "travel". It's hard to describe what I do for a living as well.
I think the way to go is have a niche, build it, exploit it (to a reasonable extent, just make all the good content you can from it), and if you can sustain that for long enough people stop coming solely for the content but the creator(s) - ala Peter McKinnon. When you have a sizable, steadily growing audience who is there for _you_, you can branch out and say "oh hey, that thing I'm good at? I'm also really good at this too. And this. And this as well" and then you can go about doing whatever you want. But you still need to be known for that one thing first.
Kind of like what Donald Glover has done. Started as a writer/comedian, then actor, got a following from Community, then quit to fully pursue his rapping career (I'm really into this too guys), and now he's directing Atlanta and all sorts of things - and people view him as a man of many, many talents. If he came right off the bat saying he was a rapper/writer/actor/director (his rapping sort of built up alongside to be fair, but it was under Childish Gambino and he had separate fanbases from separate things) then I don't think he would have gotten anywhere.
It's tough when you just want to jump into being a Rennaissance man but the world won't let you.
I initially thought it is a smearing video before i watched it, now I'm surprisingly impressed. I like your perspective on beme. keep on the good work!

Looks like what they wanted was Cassey not beme ! The thing is it appears that Cassey the brand is none transferable, he is the only one that can be him ,whatever logo/ name gets put on / around him. Interesting stuff. I think he has met an unmovable object..... HIMSELF ! WOW
Great video. Watched all the beme videos so far except maybe only 2. Agree with you on the hosts, knowing them more would engage more people into watching them and make more people feel invested in them to hear what they have to say. Although I still watch it because I like the RUclips feel to news they bring.
And I love the panels app, feels like an exclusive club at the moment. Would be awesome if they add to it and develop or more social side to it. You can give people props on their responses which is cool, would be interested if you could check out people's profiles who have given you props so there's another level to the community feel
All in all I'm a supporter, I'm subscribed, and I love it

I also think it would be cool if panels was more real time....So for example, if something newsworthy happened..they could immediately start taking responses from people who were in the immediate area of the event and could give a firsthand account of what was going on. -C
