    Hi.
I was sleeved in April 2022 at 405 pounds. Today I stand at 170 pounds! I also reversed my fatty liver disease!
I’m here to say ANY intervention takes a commitment!! I cannot tell you how I always thought surgery was a quick fix or a cheat!
I’m here to tell you, for me obesity is in the mind! Every day I struggle even though my belly isn’t even hungry! I’m devoted to this!!!
I would also like to add that down here in Florida, a very prominent lawyer is taking cases for Ozempic due to mainly gastroparesis.
YOU HAVE TO CHANGE YOUR LIFE FOREVER!!!!!

@@v3ra I’m not sure if you are asking me or not but I’ll share anyway… lol. I struggled for 18 years trying to get out of the 350’s. I would lose 80 pounds and “fall off the wagon” and gain it back in a month. This surgery is a tool like any other intervention. So to answer your question, No, I could not have had the mental strength to lose 235 pounds without intervention.

@@v3ra Ps…I’ve not once had acid reflux either. Prayers for you on your journey!

@@junanneownbey623 yes!! You were the one I was hoping would answer lol. Im stuck at 375 lbs and the reason Im so undecided about the surgery is because everyone keeps saying how its just a tool and that they still had to do all the work so in my mind I was like well obviously im not successful now so why would it be different with the tool if the final result is fully dependent on my own doing if that makes sense. But you provided clarity in how the surgery helped which really is to force us to remain consistent when we dont feel like it so yes still gotta diet and exercise but the surgery is like someone standing there with a ruler for when u wanna give up. That helps :)) thank you!

I had GB four years ago. I never was able to get a sense of fullness (never had before it either). But I went from over 340 to 180. I gained some of it back (but have also been lifting weights/building muscle), so some of it is muscle. But I definitely started gaining fat as well. I started semaglutide recently. I think it compliments GB well. I do not regret the surgery one bit (I had no major issues with my surgery). Good video. :)

Had RNY bypass august 2021. Went from 255 to 170 lbs on 1 year. Over 2 years gained 15 pounds. Couldn’t lose nor gain weight at 184 for last 2 years. Still good restrictions . Zepbound started June 2024. Now down to 160lb. Goal since beginning 150-155 for 5’5”. Was a good weight for me early 30’s. Now just turned 60. 130 pounds too boney on my large bone frame.. Still glad had RNY. Grateful for Zepbound..

I am an RN. II did extensive research sleeve vs RNY. I had to ask for RNY because doctors keep bringing up sleeve. I take bariatric vitamin and calcium for rest of my life. My labs perfect. Bariatric advantage 1 capsule daily. Loved your video. Keep informing

I used semaglutide I lost 65 pounds. I’ve been off of it for a year now and gained 25 pounds back. I’m considering a gastric sleeve but I’m terrified of it. The thought of having complications and the .19% mortality rate. I know the odds are low but I’m the worst case scenario guy. I think what if I’m that 1 in a 1,000.

I had a sleeve one month ago today. The first few days are rough as you recover from surgery, but I feel much better now. Talk to an experienced surgeon. Good luck!

Hi Dr. Hodges, love your videos! This one especially spoke to me as I'm considering gastric sleeve and weighing the options of surgery or whether to go the route of injections, as I will be self pay for each. Of your patients that may have come in with a 37 bmi, has there been a better outcome of one vs. the other?
