I love this. As a Bari patient, it took me 12 years to get to goal. GLP1s got me there. I've been stable for 2 years after plastics. What a wonderful ride. I'm now a CBN
Im nearly 2 yrs post RNY i lost a total of 150 pounds im in maintenance now. I use your book a pound of cure i exercise 1 to 2 hrs daily ie 40 mins to hour resistance strength and the rest is briskish walk designed to keep cortisol nice n low. Its working for me. I have to say i changed my relationship with food. I now eat to live i used live to eat.
This video was fantastic! I didn't know the term multi-modal but my bariatric team has used this with me. Gastric bypass (12/20) lost 65, late 21 added Wegovey and now I'm down an additional 30 for a total of 95lbs. Went from 217 to now I teeter in between 126 and 128 consistently now. Keep the videos coming, I've watched you faithfully when I started considering weight loss surgery in fall of '20.
Dr Weiner did my sleeve surgery in 2016. I lost 85 lbs in 6 to 8 months. In 2018 I had a tummy tuck and ended up gaining some of the weight back and struggled losing that weight until Dr Weiner reached out to me and told me to try Ozempic or a GPL-1. Shortly after taking Ozempic I was back down to the weight I lost from the sleeve. I am holding steady at 150 and I am down to .25 a month with Ozempic for maintenance. thank you Dr Weiner for being an amazingly, caring doctor.
I had gastric bypass surgery two years ago but only lost 72 but have gained 30 back in the last two plus months. Doing everything right. Between menopause, lipedema, hypothyroidism and insulin resistance, I just keep gaining weight. My Drs have prescribed Wegovy but can't get it. Been waiting at least 4 months already. I was on metformin for years before surgery because of PCOS not being a diabetic yet nobody will give it to me even though it's a treatment for lipedema and insulin resistance
I totally get what you are saying. I've had bypass. Done the phentermine, the contrave.. now I'm doing wegovy. It's the only thing I've found to actually really work. It works better than the surgery or anything else I've tried. The only thing is that I've had a hard time staying consistent on getting it, cause of the shortage. I'm now on the 1 MG dosage and I hear the higher dosage you go, the easier it is to get the medicine. So im hoping that's the case. Also, another thing is that you can only be on it for a year, so I'm considering this as my last resort for really loosing the weight. Food addiction can be such a struggle. To me it's the worst addiction, because you need food to live. Drugs and alcohol can be just as bad, but those aren't needed to live. I know everyone has their own opinion though. I hope you find something to truly help you!
@@bowlofpuffs523 same… nothing remotely worked except ozempic.. and it wasn’t even a huge weight loss over a year period like 28lbs- been off it since April & basciallly have regained it all back - my insurance stopped paying for it since it’s for weight loss 🤷🏼♀️ so yeah I can’t afford to buy from these med spas or private drs for 1,300 a month- it’s literaly pharmaceutical fraud- and big companies know it- but they take in the $ & ppl will do whatever it takes to lose weight. So.
I am 4.5 years into RNY. Lost 35 kilos all up was my second weightloss surgery. Ive put 10 kilos on in the last five months 😢. I dont think i am doing anything differently. I am on lithium and insulin and just started an anti depression anti anxiety medication im 52 and going through the change of life. Im in AU and due to my diabetes im able to see a dietician for free so its time to take the offer up. Feel like such a failure...
Sounds like it’s the insulin and lithium, and perhaps other medications, not something you did. If you can get Tirzepatide or Semaglutide, it will help a lot

Thank you for your kind words. So happy you are doing well!
Since glp1 allows the food to stay in your stomach for longer, does that mean more nutrients are being absorbed in a vsg patient?
Great question! I’ll put it on our list to be answered, in-depth, on an upcoming episode of "The Pound of Cure Podcast.”
How soon after surgery would you start/resume GLP-1 medications?

How soon after surgery would you introduce the medications (e.g. GLP-1, etc.)?
What about smoking
I’ve got other videos about this, not covered in this video
Thank you 👍
I’ve had it all. Sleeve- ozempic- phrntermine- contrave…… NOTHING has worksed for me

Try Ozempic with berberine. I thought Ozempic wouldn’t work for me until I tried that combo.
