"They got the state record" "Oh whatever" Haha just shows how elite this group of boys truly are, well done!
I was just about to say that 😂
Laughed so hard when he said that too 🤣
Lmao true
You know your the goat when you here “you got the state record, oh wherever”
frfr
Dropping a 4:04 and a 3:01 as a highschooler is a dream. Doing it with no taper is just amazing. Great job guys.
I was so proud of myself for my 4:48 mile today, and then I come home and watch these guys casually beat my PR by 40 seconds
hey that's an awesome pr
Dude great job! That’s a solid time.
Is this horeb from districts?
What grade are you in?
If you were on my team you would be top varsity.
The 4x400 is by far my favorite relay. Although actually running it feels terrible, with the inability to breathe or even move for the last 100m, it just sucks to run. But it's always the last event of a high school meet, and that's when everyone is finished with their events so there's a big field of spectators and people cheering you on. It's just so amazing watching other people run it, too. Seeing your own teammates just zip around the track like it's nothing is so cool... And in the 4x400, the anchor leg is always the most stressful for your own team because when running 400s, everyone will probably end up finishing within 3 seconds of each other, so the anchor leg is always the most competitive leg; Something that isn't seen much in relays longer than a 4x400, because in longer relays like the 4x800, the time between you and the person behind you will most likely be twice the distance than finishing a 400, so there's less of a strong finish imo
For us we do 4 x 800 and that’s usually last
@@massimopicca Oh wow, either way, any relay at the end of a meet is always the best, solely because of the amount of cheering from the spectators and other competitors that are finished with their events.
@@jameshenry6655 unfortunately the 4 x 800 does not get much attention from spectators because usually one team ends up running away with it early then the race gets boring
@@massimopicca the 4x8 s my favorite too (to run), but for us it's the first event and not many people watch, the 4x4 is last and its super fun to watch because it's usually super close and everybody is hyped because they get to leave after it, plus it's dark and the stadium lights are on
Unbelievable. Even with Leo not participating and the busy schedule you guys still managed to do so well in the DMR. Great job on the 9:55 dub!!
Wow, this came up in my youtube suggestions. I'm a member of that national record relay team from South Lakes and I ran 3:02 on that 1200 leg! Great attempt at it. 20 years... later can't believe it still lives.
Damn you where with Alan Webb , that's awesome
My favorite relay is the 4x800 because it is extremely fast paced and exciting
the irony.
favorite race for me in high school was the DMR because since I was a xc runner with a background in sprints, I was always thrown in either the 800 or 400 so it was cool to take a crack at 56 or 2:05 depending on which one
Hope Leo can get back to racing soon and great job to the rest of the your team! Keep up the great videos!
Perfect timing. I’ve got two relay meets coming up in the next couple weeks including a DMR. I just anchored a 1200, 800, 1600, 3200 relay and that was a blast
@Grizzly21 So did you anchor the 3200?
they got the state record" oh whatever. that's when you know a team is godly
Thank you for putting out these amazing videos! So inspiring.
Yall are awesome love watching the vids and can’t wait to see what you all have for the future
Love the dedication and hard work you put into making these videos. Thank you so much!
Great race guys! So inspirational 💪🏽
videos keep getting better. love it
Great content. You guys are serious athletes!! Fun to watch. Way to work hard.
I really liked the behind the scenes look at the video editing! It's good to see that you guys have hobbies outside of running. It's good to have something else you can fill your time with, and making videos lets about your running lets you explore your creativity, market yourselves, and grows the sport! It's a win for everyone involved :)
I got to see you guys run at the hunstville meet where y'all shattered records and that was insane!!!! You guys are my inspiration to keep on working hard!!!
Awesome race! Good luck in the future.
DMR is my favorite relay guys! Keep up the great vids I look forward to them!
YESSS YALL DID AMAZING!!! im running in the DMR this weekend!
Another amazing video as always, keep it up!!
i love lex and leo ❤️
4x4 is personally my favorite, although a 4x8 never disappoints. Both are super hype races and thrilling to watch and run
It's amazing, they're awesome performers a still maintain a really healthy approach to the sport and enjoy it so authentically. When you see L&L videos you don't see bitter overtrained boys, you see guys you would like to hang out with, it's just incredible. Keep up the amazing work, and make sure to reach out in case you come to Brazil haha we do have good food and running spots 😄
I can’t wait for this vid!!!
Always a good day when l&l posts
u guys got me addicted to snowcrash lmaoo
YESSSSSSSS LEO AND LEX POSTEDDDDD
As usual you guys are beasts! My first track race was 2 weeks ago also my only race so far so only ran the 4x800. Tomorrow I’ve got a 1600 and 800, then Saturday under the lights I’ve got a sprint medley that I’m anchoring in (100-200-300-400) and a 3200. Also it wasn’t cold for you tomorrow for the race is going to be like 45° or less
When we ran we had a relay called distance melody, Two guys ran the 220, one guy ran the 440, one guy ran the 880 and the last guy ran the mile. I always ran the mile. Most of the time I had to play catch up as well which made it more fun. Keep up the good work guys.
4x4 is the best I love the pain and when you have a pretty good 4x4 it’s fun taking home the wins
yall just be livin my dream life
DMR is my fav. fun variety and exciting to watch. 🏃♂️🏃♂️🏃♂️🏃♂️
Awesome and Congrats.
bro you guys are my actual role models i’m a freshman and this is my first year doing track and cross country i’m in the mile 4x800 800 and 2 mile I’m striving to be like you guys
The baton you touched was the baton of my teamates!! LMAOOOO Great race to lex, aaron, colin and zaki though. Great vid btw!!
DMR is for sure my favorite relay, running the 1200 is such a fun and unique experience.
Another Awesome Video
4x400 relays are cool. Great job guys.
state record and they aren’t even close to potential. that’s crazy. lex could run 3 flat, they definitely have someone to split at least 51, aaron can run a 1:48, and colin can run 4 flat. these guys are insane
How does a 1:48 guy split 1:56?
@@deltagamma7564 They didn't taper at all. They had workouts x2 during the week. Aaron is a sub-1:50 guy for sure; almost beat Colin in the open 800 at the Azusa Meet of Champions last month.
Way to kill it, guys ❤️💯
Good luck to you guys in postseason I hope you guys can bring home a title in track to Newbury Park
The lap thing in the top left is so cool
binge watching all the old episodes again until they post^
Favorite relay is the 4x800! Running one this weekend in the penn relays🙏🏻
I don’t even run competitively but I love the videos. Keep it up💪🏻
Great effort!
4x4 is top tier. It’s just the last event so I’m tried from the 1600 800 and high jump bt then but it’s still so much fun to race
Youll are insane! :-)
All of u are inspirational
the way leo fondles that baton😏😏
You guys should do a video about your routine before runs, and races. Stretches, warmups, etc...?
you guys are insane lol great video
4x800 is definitely my favorite. I have my league meet this Saturday and my teammates and I are hoping to each hit a split of 2:20.
Very excited to see the record get smashed!
4x1600 is my fav relay!!! and you guys are so insane congrats !!!!!
same!!
@@bailaashe764 oh yea we slay in the 4x1600! fav anchor💪🏼💪🏼
Legend
By far, the most exciting relay is the 4 x 400 meters.
Amazing channel
fav relay is the 4x4 bc its the last race at most meets and in my opinion is usually the most hype
My favorite is the DMR because it shows the depth of the team
🥶
4x800 defiantly my favorite relay
Fav relay to watch 4x4
Favorite relays:
1. DMR
2. 4x800
3. 4x1500/1600/Mile
4. Thrower's relay
My favorite is the 4x800 because it’s fast paced and fun to watch, and I’m better at the 800 than the 400 so it’s more fun for me to race. Also I would love it if you would show more of your race prep for the different kinds of races you do. Is your race prep (diet workout the day before, etc.) different for an 800 race than for a 3200? I love learning about the kinds of things you do to help you race well. Thanks for the great content!
If they had a fast 400 M guy that record would be even closer
Dang so close to it, if the 400 and 800 guys just ran a little faster, Lex and Colin were right on pace
you guys should do a summer training documentary or multiple part videos
I have two favorite relays, the 4x2 because my team is so fast and we’ve broken the school record and are looking to win state next week. And the 4x4, I’m the first leg and I don’t use blocks and i wear tennis shoes not spikes for the 400 so at my regional meet everyone was looking at me funny but I went out and dusted them all splitting a high 50 second split.
state record!
Lex- oh whatever
That was leo
Luke, Are you aware that for Mt Sac relays, you can get a press pass very very easily? You apply online and apply in advance of the meet. It’s a tradition that they grant a pass to basically anyone who applies. This way, you can move around more freely in the stadium and even be down at the track doing photography.
You guys are a huge inspiration for me and I was wondering if you have any tips for breaking 5 minutes in the mile, I’ve been stuck at 5:02 for a while now. Ty so much!
Get out as hard as you can
Well I was a 5:20 guy last year and now I'm running 4:30, All you got to do is get good base miles in the winter, do miles everyday and slowly build up how many you do to prevent injury. You should aim to try to get to 40-50 per week If you are focusing on the mile. Then once you're about a month or two away from the beginning of indoor season start doing a couple to three workouts every week. One of these can be a tempo where you run four to five miles at a hard effort, around 6:00-6:30 for you I would guess, and another could be a speed work session where you do something like 8x400 with one min rest. Fartleks are also good, you can research good ways to do those. Make sure to do a long run every weekend of 12 mi or so, and do strides as much as you can, especially in the days before races. Get a long run in every weekend of 10-12 miles. Finally make sure your pre-race day is easy with a 20 minute run + strides. That is the formula to drop crazy time.
i rlly want to race more relays ugh. the only time was one 4x4 at the beginning of the season. and I don't even know my split since it was just a scrimmage.
Y'all would go crazy in a 4 by 8 🥵🥵
Exactly idk what they waiting for
You guys should do a day in the life video.
L&L,how many miles do you normally run a week?
I think 4x4 is cool cuz after doing tons of more distance based training being able to just go hard on a lap is nice, win or lose
Hey I love your videos so much. The amount of quality you put into your videos are unreal. But I have a question for you. What type of camera do you guys use?
4x800 is my favorite relay!
Good job
I love dmr
4x800 is the best relay imo it’s short enough to not get bored but long enough to make comebacks
Appreciate your vids! Running a mile a day keeps me around 18:30-19 minutes when I run 5ks. Any advice how to improve while keeping mileage relatively low?
carrying youtube rn
i love your videos
“They didn’t beat the record”
“They got the state record!!”
Him not visibly giving a damn like 😐😑😐
😂😂 (we know you’re proud but also how badly you guys wanted that national record!)
Are you guys still doing the 4 X Mile on Friday at Penn relays?
you guys are crazy, think about how fast you'll go in college
4×400 is my fav if I get to run anchor but if not 4×800.
While people who watch your videos know you are very cool and humble kids, I would recommend putting your team’s name in the title of your videos rather than just your own. Just a thought.
Are you guys gonna attempt it again? I think with Leo in the race the record goes down by a few seconds.
they can easily beat it if they did it again which im sad they didnt. lex or leo probably could get 2:57-3:00, aaron could probably get 1:51-1:52, they could have a 400 runner who is close to 50 flat, and colin could run a 4:00. I think they could have gotten 9:40 or low 9:40's.
Nice vid
Old timer (1970 Track) commenting here. Other than 400m, these times are astronomically better than I ever ran. No doubt Newbury Park is the GOAT for cross country based on last year’s national championships. I think they are letting a golden opportunity slip away by not capitalizing on the once in a generation talent they have with the Youngs and Sahlmans. NP has some individual national records but these records don’t have overwhelming time differences and may lose the records soon. What they do have is a host of great long distance runners and should use them to set records in relays solidifying them as greatest distance HS track and field team. No one will touch their indoor mile relay record (broke it by 30 seconds). 6 seconds away in DMR outdoors and 2+ seconds indoors. Youngs will do great in 1200 and 1600 already proved with times approaching 3 and 4 minutes respectfully. In a school of 2400 they should be able to find a 400m runner faster than 53.7. Need a 51 to 52 runner. In 800m they need Aaron to run 1:50-151- not 1:56 and they’ll break it easily. Great opportunity at the Armory - new balance this year. Then set outdoor record in Spring
I want to watch you run 4X Mile. Also, I like the music.
4x1 mile is my fav
Got the state record and you guys can try for the national next year.
