Mad respect. There's a difference between movie star and actor, I think. A movie star would've done it because $$$. But Keaton has artistic integrity. He already had a lot of money and didn't want to ruin the character of Batman. Schumacher killed Batman films for nearly a decade.

Some could argue Batman 1989 started this whole craze that continues today.
It wouldn't have started anything had it not had the greatest cast with Jack Nicholson and Michael Douglas with their amazing performances.

When it comes to the Superhero movie craze, Batman (1989) started it, Batman (1997) and Steel (1997) killed it, Blade (1998) did first aid, X-Men (2000) revived it and Spider Man (2002) elevated it to new levels.
You guys are missing the superhero movie that came an entire decade before Batman and showed the world that you could have a hero in tights and a cape yet still be a GREAT movie.
Superman: The Movie.
Superman was great but it didn't launch a comic book craze. At least in my opinion. Batman 1989 was dark and gritty. They eventually went off the rails and forced a pause in the Batman franchise but Spider-Man stepped in. Then the Nolan Trilogy and all the Marvel films.
So to be clear I am not stating that Batman was the first comic book movie. But it breathed life into the genre that continues to this day. Again. Just my humble opinion.

it was actually bale that started the whole scruffy voice thing before that batman has never been heard with a radically different voice than their own voice. All live actions batman's never did anything with their voices and possibly the best voice actor for batman kevin conroy still does not do anything scruffy with his voice either. So I don't know exactly what you mean by the least batman voice ever why just because he did not say it like he has throat cancer or a voice modulater?

No matter how much time goes by, Michael Keaton will always be Batman! Personally, I think Ben Affleck kills it but the moment Batman floats down at the start of the 1989 film and takes out the two muggers on the roof, that to me is perfect.

Affleck is certainly not the best Batman ever. He's not bad though, but it's a little distracting when he's out of his suit and becomes the alter ego, Ben Affleck instead of Bruce Wayne.

Sahib As much as I like the Nolan trilogy, the older they get, the more hokey and over the top Bale's performance becomes (especially in contrast to the villains). He should've dialed back the "Batman voice" several notches. It pains me to say these things, but this is genuinely how my recent viewing of the trilogy made me feel.
But, entertainment is subjective and varies from person to person. So, nothing I've said here disproves what you have said (or vise versa).
Just dial back that Batman voice and the trilogy instantly improves.
Nolan's take on Harvey Dent and Catwoman is pretty crappy too. Felt rushed and pigeonholed. But...that's a conversation for another thread...
