      The Southern Apron with Tiff Wilson I am transitioning as well.. I will be one year post relaxer in two weeks and nervous as well about cutting my hair. How far along are you in your transitioning hair journey?

    • @thesouthernapron
      @thesouthernapron 6 лет назад +2

      LadyJ Kelley Same!! One year in. I have a ton of new growth and have slowly transitioned a very small amount of my hair as it appears to be 4a and possibly 3c.

    • @nellygurl9
      @nellygurl9 6 лет назад +2

      I transitioned for almost a year the cut off the relaxer around May last year and I think my hair did well growing FYI I did a lot of crochet before and after cutting my hair plus I was pregnant

    • @AlishaWilliams
      @AlishaWilliams  6 лет назад +5

      The Southern Apron with Tiff Wilson honestly, my advice is to just cut off the perm here ASAP lol the earlier the better so that your natural curls can start to grow in strong and healthy! Also, protective styling will be your best friend but just know he awkward phase doesn’t last forever ❤️

    • @ashleycaddy2736
      @ashleycaddy2736 6 лет назад +2

      The Southern Apron with Tiff Wilson I agree with Alisha! My BC three year anniversary is coming up in a few weeks ago and I’m so glad I made the leap. My hair is the thickest, longest and healthiest it’s ever been and it grows so fast. During the first few months post BC when my hair was only an inch long I wore wigs until it got about 3 inches long and one day decided I was going to embrace my TWA. You can do it girl, cut it all off now! 😉

    Hi Alisha I just discovered your channel. I was so glad to see someone else has to remoisten-their hair regularly between wash days. Is this a routine you do every other night and can you tell me how you maintain your hair while it’s down in it’s curly state? My hair is so highly textured my roots tangle and my hair shrinks so bad when I don’t retwist every night. Do you have any suggestions?

    I love your hair! I’m a newbie to this natural hair thing and I’m getting frustrated. My hair type I would say is 3c/4a. The problem I’m having is the sides of my hair tend to get dryer then the rest on my next day hair. I know I have to be patient and continue to try different products until I find what works. I do deep condition, but I think I’m gonna start sitting under my dryer. My hairdresser does a perm rod on my hair bi-weekly and it comes out the BOMB. She only uses the Nirobi Foam Setting Lotion and that’s it. After taking out the rods, she just adds some Jane Carter Nourish & Shine to separate my curls and it looks so moist. This will last me at least a week. As soon as I have to do
    my wash & go at home, it’s shiney the next day but the sides feel and look dry. Can you suggest something that I may be missing?
    I forgot to say I was originally using Coconut Oil but switch to JBCO & Almond Oil
    Any help you or anyone else who reads this post can give me is greatly appreciated😊

      Zenaida Lucas Use a moisturizer before the foam.

    • @carllouis438
      @carllouis438 5 лет назад

      Make sure to put a moisturizing leave in before your gel. I recommend shea moisture coconut and hibiscus. I also like spritzing my hair with water and glycerine to each section before applying the leave in. Also through the week if I fill my hair getting dry, i will apply the water and glycerine mix. (seal with oil if needed).

    can someone help me? I wear my hair in a sleek bun (with gel) every day to school, but when I come home do I rinse the gel or just put products in it (so moisturizer and stuff)? because if I did I would be washing my hair monday to friday.. 🆘
    btw I have 4b/4c hair

    • @whatithoughtyouwere
      @whatithoughtyouwere 5 лет назад +1

      this is the exact same as me. I'm at Uni now and i've been slicking my hair for at least the past 4 years. I usually wash my hair once a week with shampoo. I use olive oil and any choice conditioning lotion underneath the gel to protect my hair. through out the week i only apply water and conditioning lotion to my hair before slicking down with gel. At the end of everyday i very very carefully use a mid size tooth comb to break up the gel and comb it out . i emphasise carefully to avoid any kind of breakage especially at the front of the head.
      Best tip is to just do whats best for your hair, if there is too much build i.e. in winter when moisturing your hair, i rinse it out mid week and carry on as normal the next day. Also never take down your hair in a rush, this will lead to breakage
      hope this helps

    I used your last twist out pic this morning for my stylist to see for my devacut but it was a fail 🤦‍♀️😆 she shaped It correctly but couldn't style it. I am not a wash and go person, I need rods, a twist out, or braid out. She was not listening to that part so I have a big fro.what stylist and salon did you use in the past? Or maybe it was your sister? I just remember it wasnt far from me
