      Yeah man someone was asking about it the other day and I forgot about it and then last night I remembered so I'd thought I'd make a post in a short little video about it.

      12FE! With the large bore 2 needle carburetor 12ss cylinder head. It runs so dam good. It's the TOKI made HPI From Japan

    Very nice, I have an original rs4 3 type ss bought new in 2002, it came with the HPI 12r ss engine. It's a little screamer for sure and a ton of fun. It came with the aluminum header but the plastic pipe, so far I've had no problems with the car. ❤❤

      Nice! And this is the RS4 2 model with the 12FE engine it makes less power then the 12Rss model the pipe was an upgrade kit from Is Racer's edge. It actually goes not to bad! Definitely a fun little rig

      Unfortunately we have nowhere to do that you can't run on the street as it's illegal here we have no RC tracks here that will let you run nitro anymore. Top speed 47 mph not very Exciting hence the reason this car hasn't been in the videos for several years.

    Need your help here.
    I bought a HPI Savage 25 off of Ebay. It looks to be in great shape. I did replace the fuel tank and fuel lines. When I use the roto stater it turns over fine and the piston looks in really good shape. The thing is the fuel is not making it to the carburetor. I am covering the muffler
    Any ideas?

    • @thebug4046
      @thebug4046  Месяц назад +1

      In that case you can run the high-speed needle all the way down and out a few times just count the amount of half turns it takes and that should unplug it also make sure the exhaust gaskets at the back of the engine are not damaged for missing or it won't push fuel

    • @williamoleary9330
      @williamoleary9330 Месяц назад +1

      Thank you ver much. I’ll try the high speed need first and if that doesn’t work
      I’ll get the engine out and start looking at the gaskets

    • @williamoleary9330
      @williamoleary9330 Месяц назад +2

      It was a clogged carburetor. Took it off, put it in a cup of nitro fuel for a couple of hours. I then put a fuel line on the carburetor and blew that sob right out.
      When I took it out today it started right up.
      Whew!

    That header is similar to the trophy header that fits the savage it's has less of a hard bend vs the savage header. The trophy pipe doesn't fit the savage but the header does. It's 19$ for the hole unit. 🫡💯🤙👍✌️

    • @thebug4046
      @thebug4046  Месяц назад +1

      Nice and that's pretty cheap this one is a flying style so it looks similar but it's quite different in the way it mounts with 2 screws but it's a whole lot better than the tiny little muffler that these cars originally came with

    • @josephsaucedo8691
      @josephsaucedo8691 Месяц назад +1

      @thebug4046 that what I think about the stock trophy header over the original savage header. For a hpi stock up grade the header more of a sweep then a hard bend. I used the actual trophy pipe on a red cat 4x4 avalanche it was also a direct fit. Wich worked out nicely. All the engine are .28 sized .😁🫡👍✌️

      @@josephsaucedo8691 I actually haven't tried it yet but looking forward to it it's 75 bucks here though if I wanted one and if it is shorter you should get better top and performance

    • @josephsaucedo8691
      @josephsaucedo8691 Месяц назад +1

      @thebug4046 dang that quite a bit more id say outrageously more it seems to perform better but not for that kinda of money . When I ordered it I figured for the price I'd give it a shot all aluminum sense i had a few rc that were similar style I don't own a hpi trophy. I figured sense they were for .28 the parts would fit something. Also thanks for let me know the power band range . It's a little hard to tell the difference to me while running it in power range but it definitely was running all lot healthier throughout when hitting the throttle it's on a aluminum hpi savage x pipe. I also had to return it. When I swap to that header and pipe set up. 💯👊✌️

    • @thebug4046
      @thebug4046  Месяц назад

      @@josephsaucedo8691 Hey man no problem but yes when you have a shorter header you will have your top end performance come on earlier if that's what you're looking for and it definitely does help. As for aluminum parts I only went with a few upgrades where it was necessary like bulkhead braces and the throttle arm and 1 or 2 little pieces and that was about it only kind of the important stuff I'm not a fan of putting too much aluminum on because it makes the truck too heavy and breaks easily. And a good pipe combo really helps it. Much better then the plastic can they come with
