@Jose Molina I have literally been homeschooled since fifth grade and I will have passed every single grade of elementary/middle school up until my first day of highschool, so I'd like to hear you're argument please 😏
And then when people actually come out about being anxious or depressed about school or homework, people don’t think “Hey, maybe the education system isn’t the best and we should fix it!”. Instead they think “Kids these days are too lazy.” WTF.
I hate being underaged and having to be poorly educated because everyone is so condescending to me like if the world they learned about never changed in the time we both got to this point in time Adults are just bigger experienced smugish kids
school made me into a total mess. i used to be super extroverted, curious, happy but now im just introverted, anxious and everything is such a pain school is literally draining me. i have good grades, but i honestly don't know how. everyone expects me to be perfect though. it's just all awful!
I used to smile... at least twice a day i don't remember the happy thoughts i would have before Highschool, that would drive me to always find a positive side and even manage to make myself laugh out of nothing ...I however remember not thinking of any reason to fear making friends I remember nosebleeds being my most painful moments, and when they were only by accident I remember feeling lonely just when one of my family members took too long to come pick me up It was great, to be able to bleed, and express pain, and be supported instead of laughed at and neglected sometimes kicked while still in the ground sometimes punished by the teacher for letting it happen
Well i am not teacher but imagine what happend to you and you became teacher and you will have that feeling of making student study so hard but then you remember all what happend to you at school and actually help them and be good with everyone on the class let them cheat form time to time give them just lil bit of homework and most importantly you when one of them is bullied or sad you just go and ask them even if they don't wanna tell you but still they trust you as like you are his father or mother
Ya, most don't care and are only in it for the money. There is only a select few teachers I had who genuinely wanted to help me and others in the class learn and succeed, and I have the up most respect for teachers like that.
To be honest, I can remember good enough to pass my classes, but then since I have all this unnecessary information from school, I can’t remember simple things like names, dates, and etc.
The education system in Europe is pretty broken too (at least in my region). I'm someone that does well in school but hates it so very much. I love learning...but I don't learn anything useful in school. At this point I'm just memorizing facts and concepts for exams and forgetting them right after. I'd personally love to be homeschooled (because of my anxiety) but since that's not possible where I live, I have to be in regular public school.
Even the American system sucks. And I'm in higher level classes with good grades. Yet, none of this will help me in life. Instead of learning how the stock market works, I'm stuck learning about the Pythagorean Theorem.
Even without the need to pay for college I feel like it is expensive to maintain myself in school, my anxiety got worst now that school starts in 5 days...
"Everyone is smart in their own way. However, if you grade a fish on its ability to climb a tree it will live its life thinking its stupid" -Albert einstein
For a surprising amount of people that is actually true but honestly it feels like it gets forced onto you as something you "must" do to get a "good future". Honestly though, a good future doesn't necessarily mean going to school. A good future just means succeeding to the best of YOUR ability at all of the good things you've tried. At least that's what a good future means to me
Actually, I am watching this to although I Guess school is for me, but only subjects like science and math. My best subjects are always the subjects that are not important, in terms of final results, but my worst subject, English, is the most important one. Like why????? I really want to drop English as a subject in Year 3 but of course I can’t as it is the “most important” subject. 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️😭😭😭😭
I haven’t really liked school at all since 1st or 3rd grade. I just like having the freedom of actually having control over what I want to memorize & how I mange things, not like how school does it.
I've understood at a pretty young age that school was, on top of being not suited for me, toxic. Instead of making me learn anything Its just ended making damage on my self confidence and killed all pleasure in learning something new .. I dont know if I'am the only one that think that... but the educational system should be totally revisited to not only focus on the result but instead, focus on how can we achieve something similar with our capacity and mindset.
Agreed, and it was even worse for me since the teachers seemed to ignore my cries for help with bullying until the wish for someone to vent, someone to talk to manifested horribly and into bullying people myself, THEN the teachers did the same thing except when someone says I hurt them they made sure I was punished. But the girl who stepped on my face while I was going down the slide trying to BREAK MY GLASSES because SHE wanted to climb? Didn't even have to sit out at recess for FIVE MINUTES while I had to sit at the front just to have a chance at seeing something. Thank god I'm homeschooled now since this even isn't the worst of it.
You're not the only one that thinks that, I think the education system really needs to be entirely redone. It doesn't work anymore for the world now. Not only that, but if it's causing teens to hate themselves and want to die, it's a problem.
I honestly don't enjoy to process of school but getting grades that are good and other people think they're good, gives me more self a steam. Idk, I feel like people think I'm dumb so when I get a really good grade or my teacher reads my paper to the class, I'm showing to them I'm more than just a nobody and I'll go somewhere when I'm older.
I used to be really interested in science but middle school killed all my desire to learn anything more about it. I don’t want to learn about condensation three million times over, I want to read articles about black holes! And not have to annotate them!
Definitely. I never used to have any mental health problems. I was raised lovingly, and I was full of joy. Now, I’m depressed, anxious, and have trouble doing anything really. I’m almost math, but I couldn’t care less. I could learn so much easier online, though a DL course, or Google
My school (and I’m pretty sure whole state, don’t remember the details tho) had a mental health and well-being survey asking people if they wished to seek help, if things were going on in their life troubling them, etc. My friend stopped self harming because of it. Not all schools are bad like that lol
Matty I’m not nosy with people’s personal lives so I can’t say that for sure but as I said my friend stopped self harming after it when we couldn’t do anything to stop her, so I assume others were helped too. The fact that she had said in the survey she needed help and received it shortly after from the school’s counsellors is proof enough for me that most students are given the resources and opportunities that they need by the school for help, and if they still don’t get help that’s most likely not the school’s fault. Can you find any examples that would directly fault the school for a student not getting help?
When people try to blame depression and suicide on things besides beside school. (and work, drugs for manly adult depression) I think school causes a lot of anxiety and uneeded stress
6th grade was a literal war for me. It was the year I had went from naive, generally happy person to extremely unhappy & stressed person to the point where there were more hours in a day when I would contemplate living a life. That grade was a massive turning point for me, hope your year doesnt go as bad as mine.
You can't imagine in what stress i have been. I need to have a good graduation so i can also get a good job. Like i have been in pain and stress for many years and got good grades. But now this the most important year, i am failing because my mental health said enough.
@@whatsair2 Omg, I also started in 6th grade to turn from a super naive kid that was not caring for their grades to someone who is afraid to fail and got mentally sick.
For me, it's when I quit music school is when I really started to prosper as a musician. I wasn't stuck now learning stuff that didn't want to. By nitpicking stuff I enjoy listening, or a challenging song that I want to learn how to play, I actually enjoy now playing music. Back then it felt like a chore, and then parents told me to practice. If you force someone to do something, it can NEVER wield out a good result. Sure, school is good to know the basics, but then there comes a point when you have enough knowledge and skill acquired to venture out in different paths on your own, and school then feels like a clamp.
I think the best point to stop school is elementary school to maybe just the first year of middle school and ready, do whatever the hell your heart desires. But then we have something call parents and worst if we are less than 13 years old
Uncle Podger Yeah, I tried going to art college and dropped it for the same reason. It made me completely miserable. Besides, it's so easy to find online tutorials for free if you're trying to learn a new technique, and being self-taught gives you a better working pace and more motivation. At least that's what I've found. Now I'm happy painting portraits for a living.
Art is difficult to teach. I had professors unconsciously say on their own "this is hard to explain" before attempting to explain a lesson... Even after 3 years of college I felt like only 5-10% of lessons were new information. 50% I already know or recap of previous class. 40% do it yourself. Which seems to only benefit the older students there for a break in their lives. I'm currently taking a leave from school. It just feels awful after spending money for college and realizing how little was useful.
Fact: the Western modern system of education was created during the Industrial/Gilded Age (1870-1900) and was designed to teach children how to follow instructions as they were likely to work in factories. This system has not changed much since that time and is failing to compensate for technological, intellectual, emotional, and educational advancements
I just don’t pay attention anymore in school, I do the necessary things to pass but later realize school was not teaching us how the world works or allow diverse ways of learning, it was solely made to make kids/students into more intolerant obedient 🐕 that can’t even use the bathroom if the owner doesn’t let us aka teachers. I never really cared for grades too much for which i think it’s a fools game to care only on grades like all the As students and get stress if I didn’t get a grade higher than a B all the time. 🙈
It's not just outdated. It was manipulative, stifling to creativity, and was part of maintaining the wealth and power of the robber barons and the authority of the military and police. It wasn't about creating informed freethinkers who would pursue their passions, it was about creating obedient workers and soldiers who are reliant on the directions given to them from above. Just compare a high school history textbook to historical reading material required for college.
Exactly! It's really kinda stupid because society doesn't want those who are smart in general, they want the morons who are paper smart. It's all built around one piece of fuckin paper that you waste basically your entire life to get.
_I want to leave school and be a volunteer at an animal shelter, or an illustrator or writer; photographer etc. I want to be someone that inspires others to be whoever they are and do it because they want so and put their effort on it_
I want to be a content creator that inspires and entertains people, but I have to learn useless things and I feel that even the teachers feel bad for us, at least at my school. The only reason I’m still going is because I’m expected to be the “straight A’s” child and find a job. In elementary school, only one teacher in the entire school actually did anything to help me against my bullies and I’m almost 100% sure that I have social anxiety because of it. Honestly, my middle school was better simply because it treated us like actual people with dreams and aspirations and was so welcoming. That’s it. Besides maybe a few interesting concepts in certain classes, there’s nothing interesting or useful. I honestly just feel bad for some of the teachers at this point, they hate it as much as we do, yet they have to “follow the curriculum” so we end up stuck with it. For anyone that says I’m whining, I’m not. These are serious problems in our education system and while some have it better or worse than others, I can say as a near straight A student, that I have no motivation for school and I just wish the system would improve... I honestly don’t even know what to do with my life... animation I guess? I think it’ll be fun, but I’ll just have to see for myself. I wish you luck, we can make it! Whatever it takes...
Think about this do you want to be another person who: -Went to school -Got a job -Raised a family -Retired -And died How many dreams will die along with you?
Since I left school for JUST 6 month’s I started loving to read books about financial wisdom. Now... 8 months later... I am more safer on my finances than most students on high school / university EDIT: 2 years later. I still tried different colleges in the meantime and still find myself loving to learn but not to go to school. There’s a danger of not getting a decent job without a degree, but I recently got a job offer on university level. So there’s hope I can quit my university at any time and noy even worry about the consequences, as long as you have some relevant job experience and a good amount of motivation and sometimes you’re set.

I'm not even planning on going to college at all, or if I do, it will be at least 1 or 2 years after graduating high school. I know that this will definitely crush my family, especially after being labeled the "smart" kid for all these years since kindergarten.
Me: I would rather sit home and study from google/youtube/etc. instead of being stressed and graded by remembering useless and unoriginal information to have a “bright future” My parents: *So you have chosen death?*
A week or so back I transferred schools and now I study at home. The whole point in this school is for students to learn and use their ability to find information and to say their opinion (you can use everything while doing the tests and you are given 3 h to do it). Where as at a regular school you are meant to learn everything by heart for a test, cheat on the test and after that forget everything which isn't helping anything.
But what I wanted to say with this was - my parents when I told them I wanted to be home schooled were like "so how are you gonna achieve your dreams without learning? How are you going to get into high school/college without education?"
Google and RUclips are the same thing, also if you really think you're going make a career from a corporation feeding you filtered garbage then you're one of the Neanderthals that belongs in school. Try non bias sources for your information and maybe one day you'll be smart enough to ditch school.
@tattiboi It’s also good to use common sense when doing so - and using the technologies provided by our earthly lords instead of dusty-ass textbooks all damn day. Well-rounded doesn’t sound good. In fact - that word makes me queasy just thinking about it. If you know everything you need and WANT to know already - what’s the point in expanding the knowledge when you’ve already assured yourself you’re fine at the moment? You could learn anything you wanted and stick to that one thing your whole life and be fine. That’s what happened to one guy (his name wasn’t recorded or I dunno his name anyway). One doesn’t simply learn because they feel it is right - rather because they feel the NEED too. It’s a proven fact that people perform better while not being told what to do 7/5/9/13.
@@Nefare1781 ok so the textbook thing isnt accurate. Unless ure unfortunate in 1st world countries ull have a teacher using a board and explaining shit most likely or using the internet. Textbook lessons are nearly always tge last resort/ substitute lesson. And if ure talking about using ur phones that is possible but its really risky bc they can be rlly distracting especially with the internet now Also no, its good to know as much as u can so u can be prepared for life which hurdles as much as it can to ur face. Its like a head start instead of a last minute. Like would u rather learn how to for example solve problems before they come at u (or have enough exposure to them so that u hace a solid idea) so that ure more prepared or would u rather face that same problem with no idea how to solve it and have to stress start from lvl 1 when u could've done it earlier. Its called thinking ahead. And if u only learned things bc u needed to/ bc they were problems that came in ur way, ppl would be really divided bc we all lead different paths and run into different problems so do u think its best that we were separated into groups or have enough knowledge and relateability to pretty much be with anyone. Also we can't rely on kids especially teens to just learn what they think they know. They dont know what they want. They have ideas but strong or not they dont have the cognitive ability to assess them and act on them safely. We kind of just want to have fun. But for some kids they do feel the need too bc they know the significance of education and their future.
School has become so stressful, changing me from a person who was careless about judgment to a socially anxious person. So I don't know if school is or is not for me since my parents expect me to attend
I just wanna ride my skateboard, read Treasure Island, and watch Flamingo. I would have time for all of that in a single day without school and homework.
Me too. I felt like a waste of space after being told constantly that your value as a person is dependant on your ability to pass exams, go to college, and graduate (in 4 years). I seemed to excel in every other area outside of academia, so that really chipped away at my self-esteem. To the extent that I was planning on taking my own life in my sophomore year of college. If school is not for you, It doesn't matter how hard you work, how many hours you stay up studying, getting tutoring or doing extra credit work, you will most likely always fall short. You can't force success in something you weren't made to do. Find something you're good at, be serious about it, and you'll find that you can thrive in ways you couldn't if you were spending hours in a classroom.
I have depression, it's because the stress of everyone expecting to be perfect, especially since I'm a A student. I can never make mistakes without being called dumb, I start to fall behind and having to do a lot of extra credit. I start to hate myself for making mistakes and I almost self harm but my insecurity is so high that I can't, or I'll just stab myself with my sharp nails and no one will care. When major testing comes around I become a literal zombie. I look dead, not sure where I am, and just... following everyone. I loose thought of who I am and what I'm doing. Ugh, sorry, rant/ story over.
Mad Rad Hey just wanted to let you know that if you're a straight A student you're already doing more than anyone else does. Those people can call you dumb or whatever they like because you know that you're talented and they can deal with it. You're doing wonderful, don't forget to take some me time every once in a while. And it's okay to mess up, you don't have to be perfect -coming from a perfectionist myself.
Mad Rad its ok. I can only imagine what you feel like. Please font self harm. I have done it before and I know thr meaning but it sometimes makes matters worse. Try talking to anyone that you trust and maybe that will make you feel better. Or try wroting down feelings or draw them out. It helps alot more. Let me know if the suggestions work. Thank you
School has mentally messed me up really bad. Not only the school system is bad but sometimes teachers can be harsh as well. In 5th grade, my teachers would yell and pressure me too much to the point where I would always feel suicidal and guilty of myself. I'm still like that today but the guiltiness and suicidal tendencies are worse. She would even yell at me for no reason. I also really hate when I get forced to talk in front of class, it's horrible. Even homeschooling stresses me out.
I hated every second, every minute, every hour, every day, every week, every month, and every long backstabbing year of school. School hasn't helped me at all. I don't know what to do anymore, I wanna drop out but my parents wont let me i wanna get on an online school but my parents wont let me. I try everything to pull up my grades but nothing works. My energy is completely drained because of school. I have presentate a project infront of my entire class next week but I can't cause I have so much anxiety. The education system is really bad where i live. I can't wait to leave school.
I can totally relate. I want to drop out too, but that's not a option since online schools or homeschooling isn't allowed in my country. I also have really bad anxiety in public too, just walking through a crowded hall sometimes makes me nervous.
I'm from Germany accualy, and I also just discovered that indeed you can attend an online school, but only if you have an illnes or someting similar because of which you can't go to school. So still not an option :/
That's exactly how I feel. School "teaches" the "necessary" things that are, according to them, "what you need for a good future". A good future shouldn't mean going to school. The reason I say that: A good future to me means that you have succeeded or at least tried to do good things. A good future means you have done at least one good thing you wanted to do and a good future can start at any time. I have been told before that "I've hardly had a life" and sure I'm only 16 but I'm old enough to decide on what I want to do with MY future. A lot of my family have told me I'm "just a pathetic child who has no idea what a lot of things mean". Yes I'm telling the complete truth when I say that. They're always ordering me around and telling me I have to do certain things and that I "don't get a fucking choice because you're [me] just a child". I feel like a lot of people have turned against me in my life so far purely because of my confidence in believing in freedom and independence. A lot of people have told me that I HAVE TO go to school and get good grades and anyone who says otherwise is blindsided. I have come to realise that a lot of people have succeeded through other "methods" than going to school and getting good grades but I feel forced to go to, what will in less than a week be, college because otherwise I feel like I will have let my family down and wouldn't have lived up to what they wanted me to be although I KNOW I shouldn't have to be what someone else wants me to be. If someone could give me advice about this then please do. It would be greatly appreciated. :)
Yeah exactly, school is a daycare and if your not being watched then what do you do? Get thrown out, because parents can’t handle you, it’s the schools job to watch you.
@@Alibern7 I'm way too stupid to remember everything i have learned. I cant remenmber what I have learned in 5 years of math. Like when i am going to graduate there are telling me "You have to know every thing what you have learned from middle school to high school".
every single day, 12 fucking years of repeating the same thing, i love the concept of school but oh do I hate today's education system with a passion. some days i dont know if i can keep up with it anymore and i begin having dark thoughts on whether i should end it all because i lack emotional support, im mentally stressed and depressed, and dont have the motivation to continue working and studying on topics that i wont ever need in my fucking life because i already know what i want to do with myself. *Sigh* it's like a slow Death i tell you what
Jude Soria dont, sxhool is dumb,I just dream of what is outside and what I’d get when I’m done with high school.Todays education is dumb but the govt of course won’t change it.
Jude Soria Ending it is never the option. You've come way too far in life to give up my friend. I'm in my Senior year right now and I'm taking three optional classes and two mandatory ones. I decided to start failing the optional ones and focusing only on the mandatory ones. Sacrifice what is useless and focus on what's important. Oh and by the way to anyone whos in highschool reading this know that our last year seniors who took AP and honor classes end up in the same colleges as the C's and B's students.
Jude Soria We got this, we can win. Oh by the way one thing that saved me all throughout highschool is music. If you're depressed, anxious, or angry popup some music. I personally listen to metal and alternative rock like Sabaton. Aggression can be a good thing it could drive you forward. That's why I listen to songs like that. But, if course everything has limits control your aggression into something positive. Always have logic ahead of emotion.
Same here, I just feel numb by going to high school, last year it was my 3rd time trying to take my own life (I´m kind of glad I chickened out), my parents always are asking me if I won something, if I had any papers to prove my skills or soemthing, because they want me to be succesful, but tehy don´t understand that I only want to be happy.
School killed me even before i started to do something with my life. Teacher telling student that they've nothing special and that their idea is going to fail. Now i'm trying my best to just... stay alive. If someone would have said me something like that now i wouldn't care but when you're young these kind of words can destroy a person...
I have anxiety and was depressed in fricking 4th grade because of no friends and a horrid teacher. I had one friend who wanted me all to herself and she manipulated me for a year.

I feel like I could teach myself stuff healthier and faster without going to school. It’s just so tiring that people needs to be stuck in this system. I don’t feel like I belong in it.
Once you're a couple years in high school you slowly start to realize half of the things they're teaching you don't mean sh!t and will never mean sh!t to you. And the worst part of it is: it's mandatory. No matter what kind of job you want to have, if you don't forcefully learn things you will probably never see or use again, your efforts will mean nothing (I don't know if it works the same in other countries, but where I live, if you don't get high enough grades (less than 5, basically don't fail the exams or you're dead) on 3+ subjects, you have to go through that same grade all over again while all your friends move on to the next). I'm on my last year before college, I've had to put up with stuff like math, physics and all the things I don't give 3 cucumbers about ever since I started school; the basics are important, obviously, but why on Earth do they have to teach us what exponential equations are? Why dig so deep into those subjects and make them mandatory for everyone? I'm not a science person dammit! And half of my class isn't either, yet we all have to go through that. Right now we're being taught geography (fun stuff, we're on the humanities branch which is supposed to be about history, literature, art...) Pretty useful, huh? Especially because I have a passion for languages. The school system is pretty messed up and once you realize how pointless everything is there's no turning back... Things you are not supposed to care about as you grow up will affect you negatively now, and that sucks big time.
I always knew that most of the stuff would never be applied to my life once I became a miserable straight-A student in sixth grade. I seriously cannot wait to be completely done with this garbage system once I get my bachelor's degree. I would rather worry about paying the bills than grades any day, frankly.
Story of my life I too had a very stressful time when I was still in school. When I left I finally felt free I became happier and I got better at my gift which is cooking and not to mention that a cooking doesn’t really require no stupid degree nor does it really make a person a better cook either

Because if you look at everyone that's successful it's because they're a specialist or, in other words, good at what they do and know their subject well. And if you know your subject well you have a better advantage over people trying to compete against you trying to take your spot. Even if you don't go to college you're still gonna have to develop skills others won't be able to match otherwise you'll be a Jack of all trades but master of none.
if you think that school may not be right for you and you are feeling depressed and having suicidal thoughts it would be best to talk to your school counselor, your parents, or some other trusted adult. Hopefully they can get you in contact with a psychiatrist who can help you with your issues. Depression doesn’t just go away on its own or because you want it to, sometimes you need some more serious help.
The sad thing is I did a few months ago, I told my mom I felt the need to cut myself because of school(I have huge scars on my hands now), and my parents just put even more pressure on me to get even higher grades than ever before.....I want to die so badly....
Lavandere Fox You know, this is relatable. I have marks from cutting on my arm. I regret it. I suggest that you stop cutting because you'll regret it too.
I have a problem since I was little, I can't go to sleep at night because I feel very energized. But in the day time I feel very sleepy, and in the evening I start to feel better. In some weeks at school I was sleeping just 3 hours/night, I was very tired and if I take a nap after school, even if is just for an hour, I can't fall asleep at night, but even without taking naps, I can't fall asleep anyway, just after 2 AM. So I just wait to be weekend. And for school I have to wake up at 5- 5:30AM everyday. There are times when I can't sleep the all night
This is so relatable. I have scoliosis and because of that, I usually have to wake up at 4:50 am for 4 days of the week and my school starts almost three hours later. I would feel exhausted in school after lunch and sometimes sleep through my classes. This cycle has been repeating for about almost 2 or 3 years and I'm sure I have to do this for another 4 years.
Sometimes I just don't sleep at all and I still don't fall asleep in school because I'm scared of getting in trouble or getting unwanted attention. Seriously, fear is how I live, and it's miserable. Once I outran a dog half the size of me because I was so scared, and that was when I was a little kid.
Students who earn excellent grades in school/college aren't learning. They are memorizing. School is a waste of time and energy and no person should suffer through it.
Brian Robben How? It teaches some important stuff like math( at least some of math ) and history... Those who do not learn about history are doomed to repeat it...
ScootNessMonster You do realize that many careers revolve around skills you learn in school. When you say things such as trig it gives me vibes you’re referring to high school and not college. College is more open for attendance but by skipping high school you’re in a sense stabbing yourself in the leg and blaming the knife and not yourself. Even as a soldier you still need skills in Mathematics, English, History and other core classes. I get that some classes don’t fit your needs and you would 100% do classes in which you forget the second you pass and never have to worry about again. The issue with agreeing that school is a joke is that you don’t realize school is not made for only you but many others with many career interests. Some people will find useful skills that you wouldn’t need and vice versa. Simple as that and saying school is a joke is ignorant to the idea of others and even yourself
Epese I'm sorry shool isn't for me. Thank you very much. And I'm on college right now and I'm trying waaaaay too hard to learn and still nothing comes out of my brain.
Me too 😅 from india . Me : Mom, I'm passionated with entrepreneurship . So i dont wanna waste my time in college . So i won't go to college Mom : So you are interested in entrepreneurship. Better complete college degree and do what ever you want . Me : 😑 idbdmsodgsbsmskddge
I know a lot of my mental health is dying out due to school, but I'm still considering going to college. I don't think there'd be a better way to learn psychiatry. Right now, still being young, I'm teaching myself some basic knowledge for the job and teaching myself animation for something to do on the sidelines.
Okay a little backstory, I have Ehnlers Danlose Syndrome (EDS look up the Hypermobility type) when I was really little I had met my step-dad. He was nice and all, but as the years went on he would yell more and more, later we found that he has Bi-Polar disorder, and would smoke around me. He even had my mom go back to smoking inside since he would. And when I turned 12 Mom found the term Gaslighting. Please look it up, it's very important. And a little bit before that I had drawn myself hanging from my ceiling fan and my friends were saying "Good ridence!" And my step-dad had spit on my corpse. My ghost saw this and was crying, and in 7th grade I moved into my grandmothers house and had to change schools. My friends had found that I had posted a video with music drowning out what I was saying and a depressing description. I had told one of them before about the depression, self hate, and suicidal ideations. They hey had told the school counseler and I was tajen to the hospital. I had spent 9 days there until I was allowed to go home. I had joined a group counseling session and met new kids and saw my old friends and a kid that I had met in the hospital. Okay, so now to a bit more recent times. I moved again and found myself in a new school and my joints hurt more and more. I had a small group of friends and people to talk to. But bevause of my EDS I had to carry my school things in a luggage bag. And eventually Mom took me out of school because I had started showing signs of worsening depression again. So now I'm homeschooled until the new start of a school year, turns out I also have PTSD and anxiety from my step-dad, I take medicine to help me, and I'm taking care of a beautiful black cat. So, that's kinda my story *shrug* sorry for bothering you... have a nice day
I’d love to drop out of school because I know for a fact that what I want to do isn’t part of the curriculum. I somewhat talented at drawing and would love to make comics, make plushies, learn taxidermy and do on. But my parents would murder me if I did so, they are hardcore believers that a good grade equals to a good life.
Maybe pursue a degree that leads to a well-paying job first. At the end of the day, you need to find a way to get a roof over your head independently. Making comics and plushies are completely fine but it's very difficult to get recognition and gain a profit. In my opinion, it's safer to pursue those creative fields with a good back up plan. You said you're somewhat talented in drawing, perhaps you can look into fields like graphic design. Sure, it isn't as "appealing" as studying to be a doctor, engineer, etc...but it's still a degree that can make a decent living and you might enjoy studying it. This is all just my opinion. I'm currently working to get into the design program at my university all the while planning my comic when I have free time.
You really sound like me, art school was a good thing but they would never accept fantasy or comic as art. I draw, make plushies, hats, cards and i now have an Etsy store with goth and kawaii handmade jewelry :3 you will find your way trust me!
Same here. After graduating high school I wanted to be a writer. I told my mom and she was like: "You could get a degree in something else and still be a writer." Sometimes, I wish I never listened to her because what I wanted to be fits my personality better than the major I chose.
There are people that work well with the conditions school sets in place and it does help some people, but for most people I don’t think it helps enough to make up for the downsides
I've transferred from a school to another because the last school situation was getting worse every year and my peers ask me if I still want to study. My reply is "I cannot take school seriously because I don't think they took me seriously too, it's been a lie" Update: I'm hoping I can pass my applications also the exam for a new school. Pls pray for me
H A Z H I M congrats, you just won my reply for this, I used to be drawing a ton and now I have no imagination because of school. Sure, grades are more important than my happiness and creativity.
1. Your a night owl 2. Education system 3.collage is hard to afford 4.you have a big idea 5.your dream doesn't require a degree 6.colalge doesn't prepare you for the real world 7. Job market looks bleak 8. Your degree might become obselete 9. "Safe" route safety 10. You're self made Thanks me later
Larry Panozzo Yes. Because you don't have a choice. When you supported by your parents who want to finish High School and get a university degree. And you see they have an unrealistic view of the world. But you can't do nothing about it.
Yea, I’m a night owl that wakes up at 5:15 AM and go to school at 7:20, it sucks and with how tired I get, I feel like just staying up longer and longer, going and pulling all nighters
I wake up at 3am (not even on purpose, its always these weird dreams about falling) and go to school at the same time, but end up staying awake the rest of the night cuz it's hard going back to sleep immediately
VoltX Videos same like I have to use medication to sleep which doesn't always work since it requires liquid to down it which makes me go to the bathroom all night
School is not really for me. I like the social aspect but I don't want to spend loads of money just for that and fail classes and waste money. Not worth it I think.
BoioBen I was a waste of resources for my parents, before trying college i was a helper on a workshop. I was easygoing, optimistic and fit. After college i became a cartoon of Sirius Black in azkahban
@@rubyfire9666 I’m busy with setting up 2 businesses right now. Those should finally be up and running after some delays. I’m also making music cus that’s something I also enjoy doing
I remember when my mom dragged me to a local community college to see if I wanted to go. I talked with the counselor lady at the front of the building, and told her, "Look, my mother dragged me here, and I don't want to be here." It kinda annoys me that the notion of 'you must go to college' to get a better life is forced upon some people... I don't find it 'fits' for me. I don't want to deal with that kind of stress again
I want to become an animator when I grow up. School says that what they teach you will be useful in life. I never knew that knowing how to divide decimals will help become an animator We can all agree that school sucks
I want to be an animator but the thing is parents, shading, school, useless stuff, anomtony, backgrounds, thinking of my semi job (either my dream as an animator or a job that suits me) animating.
@@alilgirlwithfamilyissues2348 I f***ing hate biology. I want to become a book and movie writer, video game creator and animator (stop-motion too), but no, I have to read about Mitrochondria and s***.
I wanna be an animator too, as well as a musician. Wow I didn’t know I need to learn how to solve x to be able to make a beat or a drawing for an animation.
My parents say that if i dont go to college I have to move out within 6 months of graduating highschool. This is a predicament for me because I just want to be a house wife. I see no point in going to college, even for a basic degree, if i'm not enjoying what i'm doing.
Perplex U_U was not for me. I had drama with a horrible friend and no friends because I was in a class where nobody else liked what I liked and they all used social media.. I don’t.
Honestly I just want to be an artist and an animator, I can take care of myself, I'm 14, but I have really bad social anxiety. I honestly know I wouldn't be able to get any kind of job (due to not being able to talk to people)to save up for college/Uni, so I'm learning to animate and draw on my own. I'm not really learning anything useful in school, and I mean anything I need to know as an adult I can litterally just Google and teach myself! I'm not trying to sound annoying or rude, but it is true- nowadays anyone can learn anything because of the internet. Like if I ever need to go away to another country like America or somewhere (which I WONT because I'm terrified of traveling; I'm happy at home thanks-) and for example I need to know what the change for pounds to US dollars is I can litterally just type it into google and I'll have an answer. And also if I need to go shopping and I need to know how much money I'm spending I can just get out my phone which has a calculator on it? (My maths is pretty bad but hey cant be good at everything) In my opinion, school isn't very useful once you get to year 9. I'd say you stop learning important things once you finish year 8, because after that school is just a pointless mess of GCSE maths questions, poetry revision, and chemistry symbol equations.
I'm just like you but I'm 13. Drawing is mi passion and I also want to try voice acting, but school just keeps me so stressed I barely have time to develop my art and voice acting skills. I think the gov is aware of all the people that are unhappy with the school system. But they don't care
I remember when I was in first to third grade I had such a creative mind. Every time a put a pencil to paper I would draw swirling mazes, intricate maps, and dazzling images of animals. There was this one time where I drew a blue whale and it amazed my fellow students how much detail was put into it. But my biggest creativity lied in the words I put on paper. A teacher would come up to me when I needed help on my story assignment but instead of helping she would show it to the principal and then the principal would read it to the whole school how great of a writer I was. But in fact I wasn’t a great writer at all. I just had an imagination. It turns out that once you grow up teachers would just bombard you with homework, tests, and assignments, not giving you another chance to show your creativity. And when they do give you writing assignments, they don’t incorporate any creative at all. They tell you to write about something that you don’t even want to write about. Days after days my imagination gradually faded away as I never imagined anything anymore. What was once me visualizing an image and putting it on to paper became me visualizing tests and putting words on paper only to end up failing. “You’ll do better next time” they say. I want everything to be perfect since that’s the mindset they put into me. #fixtheeducationsystem
in reality, they're striping away what they are trying to make us from, ironic how we go to college and school for our careers and passions, but school actually takes away that passion while forming into numbing unmotivation along with several mental health issues
You told your story very beautifully, i had the same thing but then with dancing. I completely lost my interest now cause i never had time to do what i like to do because of homework and etc
Hahaha. Try telling that to my parents. A large amount of relatives and family members are very successful, wealthy, and happy and didn't go to college. They legit make more and are better off than my parents but my dad is like "Nonono. College is the only way!" and "You see how they DON'T have degrees? I don't want you to become like them, degree-less".
I'm scared to tell my parents that. I'm almost graduating (in a year/half) so I don't think it's worth to quit now anyways, because I have to honour the money they've invested
I Am Squidzy I always tell my friends to remember their ABC: Albert Einstein, Bill Gates, and Charles Darwin. Three successful men who made names for themselves without the need of college. If this doesn't prove that a degree is just a piece of paper then I don't know what will.
The first point sold me. I have anxiety and depression (manic depression) right now along with Schizophrenia and I'm literally only 14. I almost switched my entire sleep schedule around in only one week (it was Christmas break). I was basically awake all night and slept through most of the day.
I'm 14 And I'm The Same I Also Have Anxiety Depression And Schizophrenia And My Sleep Schedule Is Strange To!! I Slept Through School Today And I Couldn't Wake Up I Have Been Diagnosed With Autism Tho That Surely Isn't What I Have
Oh god I wish they'd get rid of the stupid essay system. Its so dumb, idk how other countries are with essays, but in the US we have to follow some dumb format and its so stupid. Honestly, if it weren't for band and my clubs im involved in, I would have begged to drop out asap
So, I’ve been removed from school at the moment because of my mental health, so this kind of helped me feel a lot better about it.. like I’m not an idiot or something- so thank you.
Osoro Shidesu hey sorry I wasn’t clear- I’m in my last year of secondary/high school however my mental health was degrading so much I was in hospital multiple times leading to my psychiatrist signing me off till September- so I was removed from school but I’m also taking a break- so both- yikes does this make sense?
Sophia Browne yeah absolutely! Maybe this is for your own good. You should give yourself credit for taking care of yourself. A lot of people are even scared to seek professional help.
I went to college and graduated and thought I'd miss school. I actually don't miss it at all and find the challenge of the real world much more rewarding. My advice to anyone about to graduate or even taking a gap year: find a job. Any job. Work experience trumps over anything else
That's funny because whenever I try to tell my dad and stepdad that school is really stressful for me they'll talk about how life after school is always worse and I'll miss it when I have a job. And that really is terrifying because I'm almost always tired and sometimes I want to kill myself so the thought that getting a real job is worse is too much to handle. So I really hope that your right.
Alexis Lyle Yes and no. It depends how you look at it. Things were stressful right after graduation, but that's because I wasn't able to secure a full time job in the beginning. Sure, things are more carefree in school, but your actions have consequences later. Learn how to budget while you're in school. Know how loans and interest rates work. Get as much work experience as possible to be a more marketable applicant. After a while, you don't miss the stress of constantly staying for exams every few weeks
Me: Hm...I really want to convince my parents I may not be mentally well to keep going to school... 1 minute later this pops up in my notifs I really wish my parents could understand that school just isn’t going to help me too much.. Edit: I’m in high school (Grade 7) and I plan to drop out, parents are super against this. I personally prefer learning by myself through experience, which is how I started drawing. Hm...but thank you to the ones who tried to help :’) Edit 2: Parents managed to understand homeschool would be a better option, currently figuring out how it works Edit 3: Things are going downhill again, which is expected. It always does..
I mean... when studies are showing that mental illnesses such as depression and GAD are skyrocketing in younger generations... Isn't that a red flag somethings need to be taken seriously and changed, rather than made a joke of?
school took all of my motivation away and killed my dream of being an artist. my 10th grade year is almost over and i dont know if i wanna go to college anymore because a lot of them dont have astronomy majors which is like the 1 thing left i care about. i'm probably just gonna go to trade school or something but idk cause i'm kind of afraid of backlash from my family bc i decided to not use the savings put towards college for me but then again idc because it's my life and they're all old anyways. i still have some time left to decide what to do with myself, not alot but there's still some.
I feel like school is this big leash on my dreams and goals as I waste the majority of my time at the same building for 8 hours, it also is a place where you are expected to get right the first time which isnt the case since like as the vid said we make mistakes in our life. I wanna be my own boss one day but the american school system trains me to be a employee. I am also a night owl, I just like the dark peaceful night while everyone else is asleep, it makes me more productive. I honestly think the U.S. gov made the school like this on purpose to train you into becoming a great employee , not a boss. Sorry for me writing a lot, this is honestly something I have very strong emotions about.
My French teacher makes it impossible to make mistakes, no matter the reason. You get one simple grammar thing wrong? She ridicules and humiliates you in front of the entire class. You try to present a valid excuse? Too bad, you still have to get 100% on your quiz. My parents are wondering why I’m dropping out of French
It's ridiculous how they judge your answer to a question based of only one aspect. They should know that all of us have different aspects of things and that is why I only appreciate literature and music but I'm forced to learn things that I hate doing. But the school doesn't understand that. They base it of the system and expects everyone to go to the routes they designed. Well no I'm not doing that
aaah this video fits too well. i "dropped out" last year from high school. no matter how many times i changed schools, my depression kept going downhill. my parents expect me to go back one day, but thinking about going back and having to go to college gives me so much anxiety. sadly, here we don't have homeschooling- definitely would've taken that if possible. after leaving school tho, my mental health has been better- still have my days but it's been better
Hey I'm online homeschooled. This is my online school: interhigh.co.uk/ Check it out. I've been on this school for almost 3 years now and I'm finally gonna do my A levels this summer :)
Hey buddy! I just wanted to tell you that, if you're on the verge of committing suicide, at least talk about it with someone ;) It might be hard, but we never know what wonderful things can happen :)
I do too. the U.S education system had similar effects on me too and I wished that I didn't have to go. and if you need to talk to someone ill happily talk to you. I know how hard it is to deal with school and the anxiety and depression that comes with it, but I guess it could be weird talking to a random stranger on the internet. 😁 anyway I wish you the best of luck with our dumb school system.
I'm in the same grade. I absolutely HATE the school system too. Even with watching this video and getting more nervous with the future, I still want to go to college though. I know what I want to be in the future at this moment, and I really hope that I'll finally get SOMETHING that goes my way. (Also, I'm sorry about your mental health. If it gets too bad PLEASE get some help. I have a few friends in the same position, and let me tell you it breaks my heart.)
School was definitely not meant for me. School hasn't taught me much. I'm in 9th grade currently, and I haven't learned much. So, I dropped out. School gave me severe depression, terrible anxiety, bad suicidal thoughts, still dealing with these thoughts too. Being bullied literally ruined me, I have a terrible self image, and I can't take a picture of myself. It's been about two years since I've taken a serious photo of myself. School didn't teach me anything really, other than I'm worthless. I learned programming in the past year, and now I'm a game developer. And along, school didn't teach me how to write good, and spell good. I taught myself this shit. Yet, school made me wanna die. I still have to suffer through bad thoughts everyday, I'm lonely, I always act happy too! Good video, as always. Just.. Ugh, I wish I could die. Haha.
Elementary- u can be what ever u want when u grow up Middle school- make sure u pick a job that u would like to do instead of hating it find ur passion High school- u better find a fing job and make a but load of money so ur classmates can look at u and see that u became someone instead of no one…
School is not about learning anymore, its about passing...
There was a time when it _wasn't_ only about passing?... Oh my-
Yeah, school is definitely about passing alright, passing away from suicide. >:(
Really i like school oh well
SO TRUE
@Jose Molina I have literally been homeschooled since fifth grade and I will have passed every single grade of elementary/middle school up until my first day of highschool, so I'd like to hear you're argument please 😏
And then when people actually come out about being anxious or depressed about school or homework, people don’t think “Hey, maybe the education system isn’t the best and we should fix it!”. Instead they think “Kids these days are too lazy.”
WTF.

school made me into a total mess. i used to be super extroverted, curious, happy
but now im just introverted, anxious and everything is such a pain
school is literally draining me. i have good grades, but i honestly don't know how. everyone expects me to be perfect though. it's just all awful!
i feel this exact same way
I used to smile... at least twice a day
i don't remember the happy thoughts i would have before Highschool, that would drive me to always find a positive side and even manage to make myself laugh out of nothing
...I however remember not thinking of any reason to fear making friends
I remember nosebleeds being my most painful moments, and when they were only by accident
I remember feeling lonely just when one of my family members took too long to come pick me up
It was great, to be able to bleed, and express pain, and be supported instead of laughed at and neglected
sometimes kicked while still in the ground
sometimes punished by the teacher for letting it happen
me too bro
OMG same tho!!
I know how you feel:( If you ever need help or support, you are not alone. I will be here for you if you ever need to talk.
The schools, teachers, and staff, act like they care, but in reality they don't
Most of mine don't even bother to act
You can tell when a teacher is actually passionate about what they are teaching and care about their students
I wish development was kept as an abstract concept instead of a letter.
If not including homeworks then i am in

The education system in Europe is pretty broken too (at least in my region). I'm someone that does well in school but hates it so very much. I love learning...but I don't learn anything useful in school. At this point I'm just memorizing facts and concepts for exams and forgetting them right after. I'd personally love to be homeschooled (because of my anxiety) but since that's not possible where I live, I have to be in regular public school.

Everyone watching this video: *no*
For a surprising amount of people that is actually true but honestly it feels like it gets forced onto you as something you "must" do to get a "good future".

School: We want students to be happy
Also school: doesn't give a F about bullying and gives a TON of homework each day
That's the reality....
My school (and I’m pretty sure whole state, don’t remember the details tho) had a mental health and well-being survey asking people if they wished to seek help, if things were going on in their life troubling them, etc. My friend stopped self harming because of it. Not all schools are bad like that lol
@@peabrain1369 And how much of them got helped? :)

Yeah, I already feel empty even though I’m only starting my sixth year.

But then we have something call parents and worst if we are less than 13 years old
Ikr. Art takes time to be done.
Wynn basically the only way you can learn art is by isolating yourself from the rest of humanity and observe the nature around you 😂
Fact: the Western modern system of education was created during the Industrial/Gilded Age (1870-1900) and was designed to teach children how to follow instructions as they were likely to work in factories.

U shouldnt just know one topic its good to be well rounded and to have broader horizons. So do ur best at everything you do
@tattiboi It’s also good to use common sense when doing so - and using the technologies provided by our earthly lords instead of dusty-ass textbooks all damn day.

And if ure talking about using ur phones that is possible but its really risky bc they can be rlly distracting especially with the internet now
Also no, its good to know as much as u can so u can be prepared for life which hurdles as much as it can to ur face.

That's exactly how I feel. School "teaches" the "necessary" things that are, according to them, "what you need for a good future".
A good future shouldn't mean going to school. The reason I say that:
A good future to me means that you have succeeded or at least tried to do good things.

That's awesome, hope it's all going great for you. See, this just shows you don't have to fully do school and have great grades to be good in life
Once you're a couple years in high school you slowly start to realize half of the things they're teaching you don't mean sh!t and will never mean sh!t to you.
Hey just wanted to ask, did you pass you exams?
Yes I realised that on the last year of highschool and guess what, my grades dropped 😂
Oh my god this is the comment I relate to the most, Im only a freshman and this phase is already happening to me. Four more years to go 😡
I always knew that most of the stuff would never be applied to my life once I became a miserable straight-A student in sixth grade. I seriously cannot wait to be completely done with this garbage system once I get my bachelor's degree. I would rather worry about paying the bills than grades any day, frankly.
I've realised this in 5th grade last year.

Some times I prefer not to go to school because I hate the idea of working in a very specific area, I want to do a little of everything but I know how lazy I am, school is the reason why I do something, without it I will probably be doing anything
Naya Alhenai The same thing happens to me. Exactly, like you said.
You'll be more successful if you're a specialist in something.
Sal V that's what everyone say but it wasn't always true
And personally it's not what I want
I ask this with complete respect and am not looking for an argument but how is it not true? Genuine question.
I mean, you can still try out different things to find out what you're passionate about if that's what you meant. Then, once you find it, master it.
if you think that school may not be right for you and you are feeling depressed and having suicidal thoughts it would be best to talk to your school counselor, your parents, or some other trusted adult. Hopefully they can get you in contact with a psychiatrist who can help you with your issues. Depression doesn’t just go away on its own or because you want it to, sometimes you need some more serious help.
LifeStyle Therapy thank you for that! I appreciate! :)
Mymy Bélanger You're welcome 👍
The sad thing is I did a few months ago, I told my mom I felt the need to cut myself because of school(I have huge scars on my hands now), and my parents just put even more pressure on me to get even higher grades than ever before.....I want to die so badly....
Friend No please don't there are people that really care about you
Lavandere Fox You know, this is relatable.
There are times when I can't sleep the all night
omg fucking same i need to wake up in 5:15 and right now for me its 5:14 and ive been awake since 3:09am
Same I want to die
Sometimes I just don't sleep at all and I still don't fall asleep in school because I'm scared of getting in trouble or getting unwanted attention.
Seriously, fear is how I live, and it's miserable. Once I outran a dog half the size of me because I was so scared, and that was when I was a little kid.
You have to try to go to sleep sooner. Even if at first you can't right away.

agent cupcake History is fine. Math? I dont need to learn basic trigonometry if I want to be a soldier.
ScootNessMonster
Some math, not all.

Knowledge is power, but experience will be more valuable when you obtain it.

(My maths is pretty bad but hey cant be good at everything)

Yesss

Sophia Browne Same
You’ve been removed? Or did you take a break?
Osoro Shidesu hey sorry I wasn’t clear- I’m in my last year of secondary/high school however my mental health was degrading so much I was in hospital multiple times leading to my psychiatrist signing me off till September- so I was removed from school but I’m also taking a break- so both- yikes does this make sense?
Sophia Browne yeah absolutely! Maybe this is for your own good. You should give yourself credit for taking care of yourself. A lot of people are even scared to seek professional help.
Ristar85 Your mindset must make you a great friend and supporter in this day and age, huh.
@@smolson8471I think that's only when you get a job you don't like is when it'll get more stressful after high school
Me: Hm...I really want to convince my parents I may not be mentally well to keep going to school...
1 minute later this pops up in my notifs
I really wish my parents could understand that school just isn’t going to help me too much..
Edit: I’m in high school (Grade 7) and I plan to drop out, parents are super against this. I personally prefer learning by myself through experience, which is how I started drawing. Hm...but thank you to the ones who tried to help :’)
Edit 2: Parents managed to understand homeschool would be a better option, currently figuring out how it works
Edit 3: Things are going downhill again, which is expected. It always does..
i dont think anybody wants to go to school..just saying.
Ahh modern youth well everyone has some sort of mental problem.
I mean... when studies are showing that mental illnesses such as depression and GAD are skyrocketing in younger generations... Isn't that a red flag somethings need to be taken seriously and changed, rather than made a joke of?
Definitely, especially the way we look and treat those who are mentally ill. Thank you Eclipse !
relatable af
school is just a game where nobody likes it. now internet is somehow teaches you
school took all of my motivation away and killed my dream of being an artist. my 10th grade year is almost over and i dont know if i wanna go to college anymore because a lot of them dont have astronomy majors which is like the 1 thing left i care about. i'm probably just gonna go to trade school or something but idk cause i'm kind of afraid of backlash from my family bc i decided to not use the savings put towards college for me but then again idc because it's my life and they're all old anyways. i still have some time left to decide what to do with myself, not alot but there's still some.
I'm trying to find a way to be able to pursue my dream career without spending another 4 years in school
N.E.T.A 66 good luck!
*shows to everyone I know*
I’m going to do the same thing
Well no I'm not doing that
Tbh I ask myself if I should drop out very frequently, I don't want to disappoint my parents, but at the same time i hate going to that place
bc they are, we are their slaves along with them enforcing propaganda in schools, it's very discreet but that's the point
patricia ptak Yeah, I call them “enslavers” in front of all the class.
aaah this video fits too well. i "dropped out" last year from high school. no matter how many times i changed schools, my depression kept going downhill. my parents expect me to go back one day, but thinking about going back and having to go to college gives me so much anxiety. sadly, here we don't have homeschooling- definitely would've taken that if possible. after leaving school tho, my mental health has been better- still have my days but it's been better
eurasia Homeschooling. That would great. If something like that existed in my country, I would definetely take instead of school and/or college.
What about online classes?
online classes don't exist and are considered homeschooling here :/ would love to have that option
Hey I'm online homeschooled.
This is my online school: interhigh.co.uk/
Check it out. I've been on this school for almost 3 years now and I'm finally gonna do my A levels this summer :)
aaah that’s exciting! i’m glad it’s going great for you. don’t know if it’s available for germany here. but i’ll check it out, thanks!
Im in my last year of junior high (8th grade) and school makes me depressed and somewhat suicidal. I despise the US school system.
Italy is even worst i think
Italian Schools=American Schools - free time
I'm in the same grade.
Haha.
Marked Maps I feel you
Yeah, school destroyed my self image too. I haven't taken a photo of myself in 10 years and i actively refuse others taking pictures of me.
Society: Don't stress there are others are there for you
Also Society: YOU NEED A DIPLOMA TO HAVE A JOB AND BE SUCCESSFUL
Exactly
Elementary- u can be what ever u want when u grow up
Middle school- make sure u pick a job that u would like to do instead of hating it find ur passion
High school- u better find a fing job and make a but load of money so ur classmates can look at u and see that u became someone instead of no one…
