Love em both for different reasons. Dickie’s got a crazy grasp on techniques like tunnel throat and zombie vocals, he’s also got those really gravelly lows and wild stamina. Ben has the smoothest and most cavernous lows in modern deathcore and imo the greatest breath control, just the pinnacle of having the basics mastered to a T, also one of the best lyricists in the genre.
If I did have to choose though. Ben. His enunciation, power, and stage presence are leagues above Sir Dickel

Ben has an amazing tone with his lows. Super full sound. Dickie on the other is more varied and all his voices are still brutal as fuck so I give him the edge. Both absolutely insane vocalists

Dickie Allen. If you listen to the end of blasphemian, You see that his vocals are very well controlled and he has an EXTREMELY huge lung capacity. Or in unholy grave birth, Dickie does a weird scream mixed with weird snorting. Or the intro of three bastards, his highs are brutal af.

Theres loads of videos just check out Scumfuck live, the opening of the The Judge is a great way to see him hold something nasty

Dickie’s lows are very silent, so the technique is mainly just rumbling from the throat. It’s comparable to Chris Barnes in TOTM. His highs on the other hand, VERY loud.

I love both Dickie and Ben’s vocals. As far as talent goes, I think Dickie wins the cake. Ben on the other hand has perfect composure on stage and doesn’t seem nervous.

I'm sorry but Dickie doesn't stand a chance. He can do such an evil vocals and his range is great, but Ben is just unbeatable. His projection, demonic gurgly gutturals, pronunciation, range he can do (check The Heretic Prevails' breakdown) is just top notch. His lows are as powerful as Alex Terrible, highs are tight and so clear.
The only vocalist I can think of to match him is Cj McCreery .
Also the new Dickie's style just don't work for me at all. His lows are extremely quiet and highs are squeaky. He was far better in 2016-2017 imo.

En potencia gana Ben, pero en técnica (Que bajo mi criterio es mucho más importante), simplemente Dickie destroza, tiene ese toque que te hace hasta voltear la cabeza con disgusto en varios momentos, incluso a alguien que lleva escuchando música extrema desde años y años, generaciones de bandas, pero el tiene algo diferente.

recording is one thing, having every opportunity in the world to do the perfect take. HIGHLY doubt Dickie can consistently replicate those vocals live every day for a tour.

Late to the party but i'll give my two cents. After following Dickie on twitch and after the new Kardavox academy video where he talked about his vocals he can really do them effortlessly. Can't say anything about his stamina and how long gig would affect him tho. In those IA vocal diary clips they are experimenting with different sounds. I like both and Ben has crazy projection and both have disgusting range but for Dickie's defence i'll say this. His experimenting with different tones and combinations brings a whole lot of new things to the table. He has said that he wanted to be a voice actor when he was a kid and that really shows.
Dickie has a touring band called scumfuck. He just did a tour with Traitors. Seen him Dickie is a beast
@@yeetmyskeet6373 even later to the party; biggest difference though is that IA is not a live band that tours but SOI tours constantly so just as a matter of fact, Ben’s stamina is tried and tested. Idk much about what Dickie does with Scumfuck but he doesn’t tour with IA and thus, doesn’t have to replicate what he does in studio unless he’s doing a feature on a live song like he did in the video on SOI’s catacombs

Honestly they are both amazing vocalist but I'll give it to dickie Allen, his stuff is just way harder to do and I can do Ben's stuff easier but that's not saying his stuff is any easier, they both have their own style of gutturals and highs and lows.

From my experience of talking to people, it's not that they hate it, they're just not into it or they have not been introduced to the genre; which is understandable.

@@devilishtee3117 basically everyone, it's not really a thing you're born with or are Gifted with... Though some people might have a natural talent to pick it up quicker. You practice it enough you'll get most of it down even if you start off sounding like shit. If you have the right information and knowledge you can pick it up quick. It may take years to develop full control of the techniques but that's normal.
It's not a gift it's something you learn. Calling it a gift invalidates all the hard work every vocalist did to learn vocals. Every vocalist you hear practiced for years and it's annoying af when people call it talent or gift. You can make these sounds as well if you just practice a lot.
