You should test your Mavic after updating its firmware. Rumor goes that Mavics produced after april 2017 get fixed 60fps mode with version 1.04. My drone is from 2017 july and I updated it. Weather has been bad but I did run around with the drone indoors shooting at 60 and did no longer notice that weird aliasing problem ;)
Theres also many videos on youtube indicating that the problem has been fixed for the lucky owners of newer Mavics.
satikass A few other people have mentioned that, and I went out to test the theory. There’s no difference for me, 60 is still bad news for my Mavic Pro.

Still flying mine in 2021... Really is a marvel of technology...almost 4 years after.

The Mavic Pro is still the way to go. I had mine for one year, with no complaints. It’s great companion with my Inspire Pro.
Must say very good video and the drone is great. Had mine for awhile and I love it. Dji has so much more than my zino pro ,power egg or my new mini 2. I trust my mavic to do what I tell it to and it hasn't let me down yet. Thanks again for the videos and keep up the great work 👍

I was very lucky to discover your video on how to set up the mavic pro when I first purchased it. I had never flown a drone till then and your video made everything so easy. I had the perfect set up with your suggestions. So first of all I'd like to say thank you for making me love drones by making everything so easy. I still haven't received my air yet as I live in Istanbul, hopefully should have it next week, would have loved to buy it thru your link but already got 3 🙈😄 I am looking so forward to your beginners video for air , so I can just adjust everything quickly without worrying if I should switch this on or switch this off 😅 Hope you do it soon please 🙏🏼😁 Once again thank you so much for helping me be a drone user 🙏🏼

Just had the first flight with mine, very extremely happy with it. But upgrading the firmware was hell, I started trying to update it as a 30year old and ended up at the end looking like Old Rose in Titanic. But watching it fly around perfectly with the wind blowing though my long white hair was worth it

Another great video. At this point I'm still happy with the portability of my Mavic Pro and I think if I did get another drone it would be in the opposite direction - a bigger drone with higher quality. If I were in the market for a fold-able drone right now though - this would be a tougher choice.

Great review and video Ed. You are right - that's a loud drone. Thought DJI would have incorporated the low noise propellers they developed for the Mavic Pro on the Mavic Air. Other than that looks like DJI has got a winner.

Can you do a video showing how to use or set up iPad mini 4 for the remote control on the Mavic Air.
Feel like nd filters will be sweet. I hope you can still fit the gimbal cover on with the filters on.

Thanks for the in depth tutorial. Just tried my first flight with heart thumping against my chest. It took off and landed safely but there was continuous beeping sound from the RC or my mobile device I don't know exactly where it came from but is it normal to have continuous beeping?

The way this video started out I thought it was going to be a "nature documentary" about the Mavic. HA! I may take that and run with it.
Regarding the Mavic Pro thumb stick protectors that are shown at 6:10. I've got an MP but I flip those over the other way. I was thinking that bar was for screen protection. If you look under the bar, you'll see that it's recessed where the screen is. Not a big deal, but that's what I was thinking.

Hi Ed! Nice review and great footage! A couple questions... Did you check the rear sensors? Any weirdness over water? Is the camera exactly the same as the Mavic pro? I know there is no focus issue, but isn't the sensor different? Have fun with that little guy! Bummer it is a bit noisy... Maybe a future DJI upgrade... Thanks! Franny

Thank you for this video! I was going to buy a Mavic Air for it's better quality camera and it's size. This would be my first drone. But, the noise! Wow! Is it possible to get a short video with the Air and the Pro together so we could hear how loud one is compared to the other? Maybe I should just wait and look into the Pro 2 when it comes out. It isn't that far away. Any ideas???

Great Video - Trying to decide between the Spark vs Mavic Air. I had the spark and crashed it while shooting because of no rear sensors. I shoot mainly vacation videos, how annoying is the sound? The spark wasn't too bad at all. No one paid any attention to me, but I'm concerned about this attracting too much attention. Can you compare sound between the Spark and Mavic Air?

Not a bad video but I clicked on it because I just bought a new mavick air and I have never flown before and I wanted to know step by step how to set it up after you unbox it, how to put in the micro SD card, where it goes, how to do the compus calibration etc.
Well done. When I start flying I have to choose in the app between a wired connection or WiFi every time. Is it possible to skip this?

Ahhh,Rick you were holding out on me. I asked :what no Mavic Air ? & YOU ALREADY had one on its way. Sweet. Im not sure if I'll be buying one but I'LL be checking out all your vids about it for sure. Im thinking THE Mavic Pro will be out before Fall . Hopefully with rear sensores and all the other good stuff the Air HAS and then some.

Great review! Do you know if the mavic pro is compatible with the air?
Just got mine and one thing that kind of freak me out a bit. When I was holding it by the body and turned on, the props moved a bit and I thought - what if the mavic went on, for some weird reason, I would have my fingers cut for sure. They are in props way when turning it on. I understand it is very unlikely to happen, but it did freak me out when they moved.
I've heard the spark props work on the mavic air, Can you do a comparison between the 2?
