FDNY responses of this magnitude really show off the department's unlimited pool of resources. I am always astounded by the huge amount of diverse and highly skilled units the fire department can dispatch in such a short amount of time. Truly a major feat in logistical operations, and a one of the reasons that makes the FDNY one of the greatest fire departments in the world.
Even small volunteer fire departments can be quite impressive, in terms of the scope of situations that they may handle: fires, rescues, automobile accidents, medical emergencies, hazardous conditions, floods, etc.
I was scanning this as it was happening. Crazy! Really tragic to hear about not only a fatality but that of a Fire Chief who was in the helicopter. R.I.P
Also are you with the FDNY? It's amazing how you go right through the scene and even right up to the lobby itself with no NYPD stopping you.
Good footage

@@puirYorick You can see one of the firefighters talking/looking at someone (presumably PD) after they go under the tape. You can't hear it but he says something then "he's good" while pointing/looking at him. They either know he's just there to video and be out of the way or he's got some credentials.
@@samhorne2550 I have since watched another video where one of the FFs calls out to him (or whoever was filming that one) apparently using a certain term which escapes me now but, someone replied to that comment to explain it was a common FF nickname for the fanboys who follow them around to fires.
It made sense at the time but now I have to try and piece it back together in my memory as say, "Cindy" for cinders / Cinderella? Some character type name that related to fire.
Let me be clear. It's not *my* explanation, just a (possibly mangled) recall of someone else's that made perfect sense when I read it then I moved on. The point was that the FFs knew that there was this kind of camp follower type into recording fire scenes so regularly that they came up with that nickname term to describe them.
It was either Cindy for cinders or Barbie for barbecue... Anyway, it's apparently a "thing" and the FFs "know" these guys as groupies for lack of another word. All this according to that other YT post I remind you. So don't ask me to explain or defend it. I left the crumb trail at that point.
Sneak skill 100.

Major crash? Only if you were the pilot, or to a lesser extent the copter owner. Pilot did a remarkable job to spare others...nobody else injured, no wreckage in the street. Fits my idea of a hero, giving all to save others.
I heard someone died
@@againsthell1908 i believe it was the pilot.
Againsthell1 that was the pilot him self
He sacrificed his self he died
They call it that because of what happened in the last crash and the FDNY doesn't take any chances with crashes that involve buildings
You do a much better job of staying out of the way of both vehicles and personnel and not inserting yourself into the scene than majestarium does. Makes your videos much more enjoyable
First it's called footage. Footage is from any angle or what not. You didn't see any footage like this on any news network yesterday. Just thank the guy for his footage.
mike Wright really? You're gonna be a hardo about footage vs videos? Seems like you have a footage fetish. You must be that tool that says "are you doing good or are you doing well?"
@@timpowers225 Tim powers say what you want. Like mom and dad should have told you when you was a little kid if you don't have anything nice to say don't say it at all. Nothing is wrong with this footage. It's clear and great audio. But wait has to be one dick to say stay out the way. If he was in the way as you can see from his footage blind fuck so many nypd cops would have told him to back off. So my question to you are finished or are you done. Lol bet you don't get it.

@@Whathandle007 bullshit
That's no excuse at all
Beautiful footage. You flow through the scene.
Am I the only one who's expecting to see a crash site when I see word "crash" in the title?
Sorry for your disappointment. This video has better access than any other group on scene, just look at the shot of the media line. just couldn’t make it to the top of the 50+ story high rise where the helicopter crash landed.
@@FDNYResponseVideos yes, I've realised that, but all the videos of responders I've seen before, responders eventually get either to a fire, car accident, "crash scene" or some other emergency. That's what I've experienced with "crash scene" in the title. A little miss leading title is all I'm saying, just trying to help others like me not to wait for "crash scene". But thank you for responding though.
Gotcha. I See where you’re coming from. In my perspective the title simply states that the incident is a helicopter crash, not that the crash site is visible but thanks for the feedback! Have a good night!
@Gold Glitter Title wasn't changed. She thinks EVERYONE should know by now she's response reporter, & all you're going to see in her videos is responders, not incidents.
@Gold Glitter I get all that, but I didn't have a chance to look at the channel, it popped up in related videos. Title is misleading in MY OPINION is all am saying. "VIDEO OF THE RESPONDERS to helicopter crash scene" or something like that would've been better I think.
Have they given you special access credentials? Seems like you’ve recently had increased inside the line footage. Great work.
The press zone was a joke. Anyone could walk by the press zone.
Nothing like being in the building on your birthday. The building literally bounced. Just got back from lunch.
At 9:28 who is the guy on the right I see him an almost all the calls but I can’t figure out what he does.
Some sort of chief, I'm not familiar with NYFD but i think hes probably a division chief or higher rank
How they let you walk by them? How they don’t put you in the Media “staging” area? As always, fabulous content! Hello from Greece.
Probably riding along with that fire crew.
ATGG probably looks like he supposed to be there, radio and the correct clothing, you look in place.
That shot with the four firemen walking is a great one, good catch btw.

I guess you expect them to run so they're winded before they get to the roof?
They are there to relieve other firefighters cause they get tired and fatigued you know

Thank you. They gave a 3rd alarm for relief, these are the 3rd alarm units.
FDNY Response Videos thanks for the quick reply. Makes sense now. So other units would be stood down when the 3rd alarm units arrived?
@@heavyhaulage1 Yes, to an extent. They can still be recalled and not sure if they actually leave the scene.

@@von2504 your welcome👍
This was actually I believe 1-2 days after my trip to NYC, the hard work First responders in NYC must be tiring. Roads are packed, ESU and CTU were on the street.
Those revolving doors must be a nuisance. Does this building have much in the way of alternate entrances for emergency personnel and handicapped individuals, in addition to the emergency exits?

Why did it jump from 7th and 54 to 30 Rock?

Sorry but there's not much leaking through here to Germany. What exactly happened? Like was it intentional and terroristic or was it just some sort of accident?
A helicopter from a real estate company crashed on top of that building. Apparently it just dropped off a passenger when it got into trouble. No terrorist motive otherwise.
Are they gonna be bringing in a crane to remove the helicopter?
Not sure
After forensics are satisfied they might bring it down piece by piece in the freight elevator. A crane isn't out of the question though
fdny responds video is so nice with all fdny firefighters
is that guy at 11:20 talking with you?
Once again, fine video, great brother/sisterhood, awesome comrade. Rain or shine FDNY. THANK YOU.
Supposed to be camaraderie.
What i see is a lot of responders doing absolutely nothing...(look at the the lobby for example) and a lot of important people (firechiefs?) who are just walking around. Was the fire so heavy?... Why are there so many chiefs?
It’s a staging area probably. They are waiting for assignments. That last thing you want to do on a major emergency is sending units that A: aren’t needed or B: don’t know what they are doing. By waiting in the staging area, they can see how the situation progresses and send units accordingly. Not to mention, in the video desc, it says the first reports of a plane crashing into a building. We all remember what happened on 9/11, so they might have done this just to be sure it wasn’t anything bad.
R. I. P To those who lost there lives 🇬🇧
why does NYPD and NJ AND NY port authority have fire gear?
So they can go inside to a smokey area or area where the air might be bad

@@liamweaver2944 like I didn't Forget About That I have seen it and remembered it and Also my Father was a Firefighter for South Bend Indiana Fire Department for 25 years
@@davidmichalski4241 we have to consider New York's history with airplanes crashing into buildings. Better to come with a lot of resources than too little.
In Philadelphia for example if a fire is reported at a high-rise a certain number of units will be called to the scene because they don't know how bad the situation is until they get there.
Great video! Ty to all the first responders!

Heli-Crew HGS yes they are actually. I see them all the time
@@funkydrumma1009 No they aren't. You'll notice they all say "Traffic" on the side and none of those are actual cops. They don't have a gun, they can't arrest people, they can write parking tickets. They have about the same level of authority and training as USPS letter carriers.
I was hoping to see actually footage of the crash aftermath
Good video. You got a lot of interesting little things that added up to the full picture.
Okay, whats with the green spout on 54 pouring water onto the road the whole time?
Hi J.A. when I was in the fire service (London Fire Brigade) in the UK, if you were the appliance that was the base pump at the incident pumping water keeping the lines charged but they were not actually using them, then the water heats up very quickly to the point it can scald you, then you open one of the deliveries and let the water trickle out to keep the tank and pump cool. I'm assuming this pump was keeping the emergency wet riser system fully charged.
9:50. Why is command outside on a phone when they have several billion dollar command apparatus.
Command does not always need to be inside a vehicle or in the building at a scene. Most of the time they are outside directing people on what to do. Also, wrong time stamp?
In watching the top brass of FDNY show up in their dress uniforms...I must say that I would always prefer to be in turnout coat and helmet while showing up on an engine than any brass position. Management in any job is management nonetheless. Being top brass must make people sad to some extent on the inside.
Where the F^ was the helicopter ?
On the top of the building
No firefighter responding to that didn't think it was gonna be 9/11 all over again
Why did the pilot decid to fly it in bad weather?
Steven Beuving they had work to do and the weather wasn’t bad enough to affect the helicopter. We don’t know what happened yet but there is no reported indication of a weather related problem
