I'm loving mine (though I have the 1TB HHD option), and it is shockingly good for me. I've thrown some light tasks at it that my previous Windows laptop struggled a bit with and it had no issues at all. The build quality and performance are astounding on these things.
Thank you so much Matt. Love your reviews and so happy to hear you loved this! I was absolutely happy when I saw the specs of the new Mac’s! Such a wonderful improvement across the board ☺️ it makes me excited to see what the M5s will be like too 🫣😅although I’m worried the prices for those may skyrocket. These are fantastic & great value compared to last year . I love them!!!!!
While using my original iPhone 16 Pro Max charger, I experienced an electric shock and tingling sensation around camera ring and capture button. Is this potentially harmful to my iPhone?
8:14 Great content Matt!!! With M4 chip MacBook Apple has given a true successor after M1 chip, rather than M2 or M3 that fells like Makeover M1 chips, planning to get one of theses...
Hey Matt, I know I'm probably answering my own question, but I'm a very light user and only really consume internet content, safari, etc. Would I benefit at all from the M4 Pro? In all honesty the M3 15" Air (8gb) is discounted now and I was thinking that too. I could wait for the M4 too.
With all the Apple Intelligence stuff coming, will 16 GB of RAM be enough in the next few years? The RAM upgrade is the main reason I’m considering the M4 Pro, as the price difference isn’t significant if I were to opt for 24 GB on the M4
Remember that a ARM Mac does not work the same as an X86 computer. Even a ARM Windows with snapdragon only starts at 16GB RAM and for the majority of people that is going to be doing and even will be fine in say 5 years from now
according a test me and my friend did with a m3 and m4 on huge tasks real world not much faster at all but money wise ya. we did everything together for a day and my m3 kept up in the same adobe stuff, imovie, yt editing, safari, coding, etc. Unless you doing really high end stuff maybe but idk.
Hi Matt, my photographer friends are urging me to upgrade to 32 GB RAM for Lightroom and Photoshop. I believe I fall into the "prosumer" category as a stills photographer (no video). What do you think? Is 32GB RAM necessary for this?
I think the base model is not the one to buy. At the end of the day it has the same processor of Ipad Pro. For about 500 hundred dollar more you have a different machine with 2 more Core and 4 more Gpu Core with 24 Gb of Ram. Yes you have only 512 Gb of storage but you can buy an external Nvme SSD for a bit more than two hundred dollars.
I have to disagree on the upgrade part: for 400$ you get 50% faster ssd, 25% faster cpu, almost double faster gpu, extra ram, thunderbolt 5 ports. I mean it is very good upgrade deal for ones who would benefit from performance. OF COURSE for people who don't need more power the base model is very good, but I wouldn't say it is a bad deal LOL heck it is probably the best value upgrade apple has ever made in their macbook lineup
I was more thinking that for the majority of people out there who just 'want a pro' MacBook Pro, the M4 will do for most. Of course if you know what type of user you are and know that you will push the M4 hard everyday with 'Pro Apps' and are writing back and forth to the built in drive and need it super snappy, then M4 Pro alll the way
Do you think the M4 MacBook Pro is a Great Buy?
Nope way too expensive sadly.
@@MattTalkTech yes but I am thinking about the m4 MacBook air
@@C0ivq Awesome!
Should I wait for the M4 air or just get the M3 on Black Friday or cyber Monday?
@@C0ivq If a good deal comes up with Black Friday of more than $200 off then buy it
Thanks for the video Matt! I'm upgrading to an m4 computer just don't know which.

I plan to get a M4 Mac Book Pro. I have a M1 Mac Book Pro currently

Nah , I would go straight to 64 gb , this way you are all set

So is thunderbolt the same as usb c?
The port design is... But some devices and cables have a thunderbolt chip inside to give even faster speeds for like external hard drives
@ yeah makes sense, thanks! So can all usb devices plug in and work with a thunderbolt port? So sag if I have a peripheral with usb c on it
the nano-texture screenn isnt available yet-except from. Apple- its cheaper at other sellers but not in stock.
Thanks Matt.

Do you edit with RAW photos or plan to in the future? If yes, then 32GB I would go for
@@MattTalkTech Thank you for the quick reply! Yes, I always edit RAW photos. Appreciate it sir!
Planning to get iPhone 17 pro max
Is 16gb the new 8gb with AI the new magic portion thrown in

I thought this standard M4 is not "Pro" as it were.
Yup this is the standard M4 I talk about
Thanks matt its such a cool review 🥳🥳🥳
Thank you, I am glad you liked it
I think MacBook Pro M4 Pro is a better buy - better performance and faster SSD for a few hundred dollars more.
Nice
