Thanks for the video, unfortunately only had an Original 3DS joystick on hand but was able to make it work by sanding down the edges of the screw holes so it fit. Works perfectly fine afterwards and the N3DSXL closed up just fine.
What screwdriver size is needed for this and can you do the same thing when replacing the c stick? I want to replace mine cause it's gotten all sticky for me not using the system for a long time. I don't like the feeling. XD
I ordered this part, but apparently it's not what I needed, I needed the part that the joystick fits around, but now since I disassembled this, I can't get it back together, it just won't fit together like it did before, also the new part won't stay connected :(
Idk if you figured it out but this video explains it really well. There's a part where he's installing the joystick that may help. ruclips.net/video/QKrrFRFoLFM/видео.html
@@tiffanyreynolds4520 thank you, there's jump cuts in the video, I cross-referenced it to other videos and ordered a new joystick, which fits, now I need to get the ribbon back in, it looks like in other videos that you flip something on the board up and slide it in
I really don't know if you still see this bit I have a problem similar to this. So the problem is the module itself is still good still stays in idle position, but once I turn the system off the pointer just starts moving around like the one you were fixing is it the module or is it the system?

Thanks for this. I couldn’t pop the cover off with the smallest screws. It was like something in the middle was keeping it stuck
there's 2 little rubber pads with screws underneath them
Micro SD Cards can also mess you up
Me *permanently borrowing* my friend's joystick :
Right
mans broke a speed run world record
Yo, this intro beat is dope AF. Great video too!
Thanks a lot, man!
I need to replace the A, B, X, Y buttons as well. Can you make a tuto for this? Thanks!
Very helpful.
Just replaced my joystick.
Thanks!
What size screwdriver did you use for the inner screws?
@@GreenApple300 Sorry. I don't know exactly how the size is determined.
But it was very small. 2mm I think.

NOTE: Take your Micro SD Cards out before taking the case off!
The card gets in the way.
can you tell what type and size screwdriver
you have? i can't seem to have the right size
Its a 2mm Triwing. I have a full set of security bits by Royace. It's inexpensive and has been my daily set for a couple years.

Will this work with a New 2DS XL?
Quick question. Would the regular new 3ds be pretty much the same process?
The process might be a tiny different. To make sure, check the guide on iFixit.
The link you showed is no longer available. Could you update for another one? Thanks! 🙏🏼
Could you post a link as to where you got yours? I don’t wanna order the wrong one 😅
Sorry for the late reply. I linked it in the description.
Upside down video, but overall pretty good

Could be the ribbon cable. I would undo it, clean it with ipa and reseat it first.
@@dvgamerepair3448 Thanks mate.
Can you link the 2mm screwdriver
Gracias
