    LYRICS
Late at night all systems go
You have come to see the show
We do our best You're the rest
You make it real you know
There is a feeling deep inside
    That drives you fuckin' mad
    A feeling of a hammerhead
You need it oh so bad
    Adrenaline starts to flow
    You're thrashing all around
    Acting like a maniac
    Whiplash
Bang your head against the stage
    Like you never did before
Make it ring Make it bleed
    Make it really sore
    In a frenzied madness
with your leather and your spikes
    Heads are bobbing all around
    It's hot as Hell tonight
    Adrenaline starts to flow
    You're thrashing all around
    Acting like a maniac
    Whiplash
Here on the stage the Marshall noise
    is piercing through your ears
It kicks your ass kick your face
    Exploding feeling nears
Now is the time to let it rip
    To let it fuckin' loose
We're gathered here to be with you
Cause this is what we choose
    Adrenaline starts to flow
    You're thrashing all around
    Acting like a maniac
    here we go
    (guitar solo)
    WHIPLASH!!!
    (guitar solo)
The show is through the metal is gone
It is time to hit the road
    Another town Another gig
    Again we will explode
    Hotel rooms and motorways
    Life out here is raw
    But we will never stop
    We will never quit
    cause we're Metallica
    Adrenaline starts to flow
    You're thrashing all around
    Acting like a maniac

My first Metallica show was November 1983. I was 14. Lucky to be from the SF Bay Area. I still consider this new Metallica (not the song), but this tour. Every Metallica fans needs to see a movie called Murder in the Front Row. It’s all about the Bay Area thrash scene.

I'd say between, 1989 to 1993 is when Lars was at his peak with drumming. Whats wild, is that in 1989, Lars had only been playing the drums for barely 9 years. James voice was at its peak and peak in power from 1986 to 1996 maybe 1997. Metallica could NEVER not sound powerful from, 1986 to 1998.

Once again John's enthusiasm is simply unmatched. Great to see this music can still affect people with it's energy and conviction. Sadly this Metallica came to an end pretty much the following year with the release of The Black Album that ushered in a very different approach the band decided to take. It isn't for me to say it was a poor decision, they sold a bazilian records from that point forward but I do miss the Metallica I grew up on which was from 85 to 90 or so, just because it had been so fresh and so unlike anything I'd ever heard before at that point. Cheers Wolf Hunterz, getting to see this music through your eyes gives me some of that old-school fresh feeling back again. M.

@@TheWolfHunterZ I mentioned that Celtic Frost song circle of the tyrants and the live video clip (which I believe is the "official" video from 1985) as something that would be interesting for a few different reasons, not the least of which is Celtic Frost are the Godfathers of what would become death metal, not to mention they were among the very first extreme metal bands to incorporate orchestral elements and female opera vocals Etc into their sound. Very forward-thinking for 84/85. Nightwish, the Gathering, Theater of Tragedy, Dimmu Borgir, Evanescence, and many more bands all owe Celtic Frost a real nod for getting that ball rolling as it were. Cheers!

The "end" of Metallica, for ME, came when I heard the "soothing" sounds of, "Nothing Else Matters" and "The Unforgiven." I "got an earful" of these two, I thought, "WTF?! Metallica what's THIS?! After all the fun times we had together, WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" From THAT INFAMOUS DAY FORWARD, just like a "BAD marriage," I COMPLETELY "divorced" myself from the MONSTER that ONCE was Metallica. In my opinion, to "add insult to injury," I DO NOT KNOW WHY the band gave themselves "make-overs." What do I mean? Metallica with SHORT HAIR ISN'T METALLICA!
