    I have a question: the female author who wrote about being able to tell if a woman is menstruating- does anyone think it could be satire?
    It’s very common for women on public transportation at night to be quite reserved as those circumstances are unsafe. If the text is written from the perspective of a man then I think it’s possible the author is meme-ing. Like “all the women on public transport after dark are on their period because when I hit on them they are not nice to me” but really she is wearing her “I am just trying to get home alive” emotional armour.
    Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

    • @micahfoley9572
      @micahfoley9572 2 года назад +3

      i think it's very difficult to generalize, but i have definitely seen people, women especially, go from "relaxed on the bus ride home, staring out the window" to "every cell alive with fire and primed for mortal combat" at what might seem to casual observer to be ostensibly slight provocation. cuz motherfuckers just don't understand boundaries, and everybody wants something. And no one knows better than women that letting your guard down is a luxury.

      It could also have to do with comfort - he may speak more slowly naturally when calm, and he may have gotten nerves before but not so much now and he speaks at a slower pace. It may also have to do with public speaking experience - speaking at a slower pace is much more easily understandable in most situations, including in recordings. I'd say he still speaks fairly naturally aha!!
