I finally signed up for the Sprint in French, month 2 starts today! I agree, review the lesson beforehand! I’ve really enjoyed my classes so far, but the best ones have been when it’s obvious we’ve all reviewed the lesson and we’ve thought about things to talk about.
And I booked all my classes in advance, but that’s because I’m taking classes super early in the morning and nothing is going to get in the way of me showing up that early in the day. It means I’ve always been able to pick the class I want at my preferred time. But I know this wouldn’t suit most people! 😉
I was also really happy I’d been taking weekly solo lessons on italki months before this because it gave me an idea of what to expect from online language classes and I feel way more confident now. So I’d recommend solo lessons to anyone who is nervous 😅 I’ve kept up my solo lessons during the Sprint and I am planning to continue on with both italki and Lingoda post-Sprint!

    Native German here:
I gotta say... It is so jarring to hear you speak german, because your accent sounds so natural, in a way where you actually sound like a second gen immigrant for example.
To hear you just switch from german to english (with your obvious native accent) mit sentence, just messes with my brain. 😂😂
I wonder, if that's how I sound when talking 'denglish' 😂
(Edit: With second gen immigrant, I just meant you sound like someone, that grew up in Germany, but in a bilingual household.)

I will say I completed the German super sprint maybe a year or so ago (back when you could get 100% of your money back) and it was incredible. I learned so much that when I went to Germany I could communicate fully in German. I would do the sprint again if I could get all my money back again because it was amazing.

I've looked into this for some time but I'm not sure if it's the right approach for me.
I'm also curious what "Business English" is. Not that I need to know it, but just want to know what they mean by that since there's a distinction between that and regular English offerings.
I'd be taking it for Spanish though if I decided to go for it. Though I'm not at a good speaking and understanding level yet. I've done a couple apps and stuff and tried learning that way - and it helps, but it may not be super effective for me either.

I've looked at the Sprint before, as I thrive better under some form of pressure/expectations, but I work 48 hour shifts and would likely be forced to miss some classes because I'm working. Is it correct that multiple classes cannot be taken in one day to make up for having to miss other days?

First of all, I always think it's good when people move to Germany or even just take a trip, and I'm generally open to people from different countries. That is, or should be, freedom and positive cultural exchange. But unfortunately, for years Germany has been getting exactly the people that nobody needs, namely criminal immigrants from mainly Islamic countries, i.e. a negative culture that has nothing to do with European human rights.
Therefore, I can only advise anyone who emigrates to Germany or wants to take a trip to carefully inform themselves about the political security situation. The USA issued a travel warning to Germany some time ago. And unfortunately, that is justified. Unfortunately, we have had a growing problem of Syrian and Afghan "refugees" for years. By definition, they are actually illegal immigrants (according to the Dublin rules), but never mind... In any case, crime has exploded. Germany was once a safe country, but now there are many no-go areas that are swarming with mainly Syrian and Afghan migrants. I would therefore think carefully about which state and which city I would travel to. In the evenings, I would NOT go out alone, especially because you are a woman. The risk of being harassed by migrants and worse is very real.
And yes, it has long been statistically proven, which even the police officially confirm, that these groups are disproportionately prone to violence. It is not the Swedes, Italians or Poles etc... No, no, it is almost exclusively Syrians and Afghans who attract negative attention (because of their cultural background). As I said, not because of their ethnicity, but because of the cultural and religious background from the Muslim countries they come from. Muslims have an anti-West attitude and do not respect the way we live in Europe. But these migrants are still happy to accept the free money (citizen's allowance).
Well, I could make a long list of crimes, but the most well-known or most serious crimes to date are Mannheim and Solingen... Well, surprise surprise, they were Syrians. Unfortunately, we have a huge problem with Islam in Germany, which has been denied or not taken seriously for years. Well-known Islam experts such as Ahmad Mansour have also been warning for years about Islamic-motivated acts that we are importing into the country through this uncontrolled mass migration. Instead of skilled workers who would be really useful and who we would gladly welcome, we are getting Syrians who are 70% illiterate, i.e. they cannot even read/write their own language, let alone successfully learn German. Most of them live in parallel societies and do not want to have anything to do with Germans.
PS: And no, none of this is a conspiracy, but a sad reality. So it is serious advice to really inform yourself and, if possible, choose a federal state that at least statistically has the fewest (Syrian) migrants, because crime is also lower there. btw, Ukrainians are NOT a problem, , although we have taken in so many, they are statistically inconspicuous, so in percentage terms they hardly commit any crimes compared to their numbers. While Syrians, as mentioned, often attract negative attention
