    These guys are both very good. Nate was riding high a lot and I thought he’d get reversed a few times when he didn’t. My guess is that due to his lanky physique he’s become very good at getting away with riding that high and maintaining some control. His coaches probably let him do his thing.
    Also lots of hand control fighting that is hard to see. When it looks like one or both are just laying there they are really battling like crazy for hand control and trying to setup moves.
    These lighter guys are whip-quick and can go nonstop all day. Great match!
    PS - it’s very hard to turn a lankier guy when he’s sprawled out flat on the mat. Nate did just enough to not get called for stalling by spreading out, pulling back in and fighting, and spreading back out again.

    According to this comment section, getting taken down three times and getting turned onto your back is “winning” and “dominating”. They must have different rules in New Mexico.

    Great match i only had one problem. If my kid called injury time like that, im forfeiting his match. That kind of shit ruins the sport. Everybody calling injury time because they need water. The kid didn’t do anything to harm his shoulder, he just wanted a break. In wrestling there are no breaks; go out there and win the match like a man. If you want a break, go wrestle freestyle or greco where the break is included.

    • @MidwestWrestle
      @MidwestWrestle  2 года назад +11

      Hi Jorge, this is actually my fault for editing out what happened in between. It's almost impossible to see, but if you watch very closely immediately after he requests injury time, Nate makes several squeezing gestures towards his coach, and his coach responds by digging around in his pocket. What he's looking for is Nate's inhaler. Hope that helps clarify things.

      @@MidwestWrestle ahhh i didnt know that that makes way more sense thanks for informing me!! All around great match tho!!!

    • @JorgeRodriguez-po1fy
      @JorgeRodriguez-po1fy 2 года назад +6

      @@MidwestWrestle also sorry id my response was a bit harsh but in florida a lot of teams use injury time as a timeout and that just ruins the integrity of the sport. But an inhaler is definitely a more than valid excuse for injury time. All in all, great match!

    • @MidwestWrestle
      @MidwestWrestle  2 года назад +4

      Thankfully, I've never seen that on my mat while officiating. If I do witness it happen one day, I might consider making an unsportsmanlike conduct call if the abuse of injury time was obvious and blatant, since the rules book states, "Coaches have the moral and ethical responsibility of not permitting wrestlers to win matches by claiming injury unless they are injured to the extent they cannot or should not continue. Taking an injury time-out for a non-injury situation is unethical (see NFHS Coaches Code of Ethics)."

    The Indiana kid better get more of a polished, continuous style, because in College, that's not gonna serve him well. He seems to literally, wrestle out of control, and hope to come out on the better side of the tangle.
