So, I am forever fascinated by Maynard's theology. I like that he named it "Bedlamite," because a bedlamite is a madman. This came to be this way because of a a colloquialism referring to mental institutions as "Bedlam,'" a British bastardization of Bethlehem, the city where Jesus was born, scene of "Silent Night." Those places were supposed to be "calm and bright" places for mentally ill people to "recover," or at least to be held safely away. So, in this song, Maynard sort of blends the idea of a Bedlamite as a crazy old drunk AND a spiritus sancti/holy spirit. Is it anointed that "It's gonna be alright?" Or is it just some crazy old drunk street preacher howling at the moon? Is it both? Does it matter? This song is also, in my opinion, a direct response to UPGrade: How does one choose words so magical/they terminate or alleviate this morbid despair you feel? Well, you find an old drunk street preacher, in my mind the same character from Sour Grapes, and he tells us that everything'll be alright, that we live with a lot of people who are so, so different than we are, that we have survived 100% of our bad days so far, that the sun! will! come! up! Jesus. Am I the bedlamite?

Even more amazing was the fact that they timed it to the full moon rise for everyone watching. Though most were inside, being an internet show. @@AquaRegia-419 I don't think so--the punch isn't there. It's the last song on the album, and I really do think it's meant to offer some hope--to raise a glass to "our remarkable resilience to calamity".
@@Daniel-jc1wd you know, I've taken all great deal of time to ponder what you said. Only thing I can summarize is, who sings a song to God in this day and age. The fact that this takes place during sunrise says everything they're trying to in the song.
The bass!!! And Carina has such a perfect voice for this group of very talented musicians. Maynards lyrics are always thought inducing, the man can tell a story, but you have to pay attention, always more than 1 meaning. This is a great 1. I love Pucifer, not nearly as well known as they should be. I pray you are right MJK and everything will be alright bc right now the world is a mess. We need more positivity and love on this planet. Lead with your hearts, not your egos and doubts. Just love one another and things will be alright. MJK for POTUS 2024.
I quit hallucinogens 8 years ago when my daughter was born and these two songs are my favourites from the album as well. I imagine they would resonate with me on a whole different level if I was on acid or mushies but if I do ever have an opportunity to find out, their meaning to me and my sense of connection to them will be something completely different and evolved by then, if they will be anything at all.
Yes. At sunrise & they glory in the dawn. So perfect. I was expecting so much criticism, I usually see ppl whining that Puscifer & APC aren't Tool. Maynard & Carina are everything.

@@kristinLFG Then Maynard should have a disclaimer added at some point: "The lyrics to this song are meant to be sarcastic, not literal" in order to avoid misinterpretation. When relaying any message, care should be considered that the gist not be lost amidst prima facie structure. I'll admit that you could be correct, Kristin. Perhaps he meant: "Nothing is alright." I have problems interpreting the Bible because of the same vague ambiguities.
@@ANDROLOMA The thing is, Maynard writes his lyrics with the intent of leaving it open for the listener to interpret in a way that's meaningful to their own life. To put the song itself in a box would also put the listener's experience in a box. Essentially the song means whatever you want it to mean, there is no misinterpretation.
"Everything will be alright" has nothing to do with us. Only in our absence, Will this phrase hold true. The sunrise is not dependent upon our survival. It's all gonna be alright.
@Shane Green Maybe some of us will adapt and evolve and move on, maybe a song of hope saying no matter what we will prevail... life will prevail, or even as the world is in chaos they will still drink from the bottle drunk on the delusion that their life will be alright. Been going through a really rough time this last year and my depression has been scary bad these last six months. Have had this song living rent free in my brain on and off for awhile, and especially now hearing again "It's gunna be alright, Everything will be alright, It's gonna be alright" when everything really does not feel like it's going to be alright at all brings me immense comfort. Hearing this song feels like getting a hug that I really need right now. So happy that this song even exists.

I love everything about this video. The way Mat's guitar kicks at 1:59, the way Carina mirrors Maynard's natural involuntary rocking, the way MJ and Carina's voices harmonise, and that sunrise. Just gorgeous all over, and one of the most calming songs I've ever heard.
For those arguing over the message: The song is a mirror. It is showing you to you. If you take the words and analyze them, you will see the joke and cynicism. If you feel the music you will get something quite different. Which do you trust, your logical mind or your heart?

Its still night for me... but I want to believe in a new fable. I want the sun to rise. My wife died just last month. And I had this mentality, I believed my own fable ... and I watched the fable fall apart day by day. No amount of Spiritus Santi would have saved this. I want to believe there is another me that can weather this storm, that I have the "heterogeneity" inside myself to be a new me, in this new fable I need to write for my future. Thunder blew up my horizon... And now there is only Ash and urn and this silent horizon. Like a Kidney Stone... I hope this too shall pass, right now I'm holding this pain tightly, the old me cannot yet let it pass. Shedding our skin is hard, in this long night. I want it to be alright. :(

when i found out i had cancer in my leg that was malignant, i listened to this song and cried openly. it always makes me feel better
A roadmap out of Despair. Believe it'll all work out. It's gonna be all right. THANK YOU.
@@AquaRegia-419 I don't think so--the punch isn't there. It's the last song on the album, and I really do think it's meant to offer some hope--to raise a glass to "our remarkable resilience to calamity".
Hello🌹how are you doing? Nice to meet you here..
this song is a solid point i have to put pscifer in my daily playlist
"write your own fable. Believe it will all work out"
One of my all time favorite lyrics
Awesome lyrics!
I was scrolling down and read your comment as Maynard was singing it!!! Bullseye!!!! ⭐✨⭐✨ (Lyrics > 0:53 ✅)
Beautiful. There is also a fine line between insanity and genius.
Think of all the innovators, labeled crazy and insane by those without the intelligence or imagination to realize what's possible.
don't trust ur eyes. most judging are insane. who is worthy/able to judge "genius", or "good"?...
@@Daniel-jc1wd you know, I've taken all great deal of time to ponder what you said. Only thing I can summarize is, who sings a song to God in this day and age. The fact that this takes place during sunrise says everything they're trying to in the song.
Why did I sleep on this track for 2 years? Now I can’t stop playing it.
Same here finally coming around to it
@@themostshaddyjust reminding you of it. In case you took a break from it like I did.
@@crust_no_tunanow I'm reminding you of it. Get back in there Champ!
Carina crooning in sync with the lyric “fortune teller croons,” gives me the electric feels.
Ok, I'll buy the damned CD. Just had to release this didncha!
Yeah, that's funny. I bought it on eBay last night. Lol...👾
Mood hahahah
Hahaha. Same here!
I love this comment hahaha
I want the vinyl!
This song and A Singularity are my favorites when I’m high. So awesome.
Seeing others feel the same feeling from a song as you do yourself...gives me such a warm heart. 🖤 It's simply just a hauntingly beautiful song.
Yes. At sunrise & they glory in the dawn. So perfect. I was expecting so much criticism, I usually see ppl whining that Puscifer & APC aren't Tool. Maynard & Carina are everything.
Hello🌹how are you doing? Nice to meet you here.
Best Puscifer ever.
Thank-you all! For Puscifer, my addiction, no 12 Step Program. Play us all through please to the other side of this pandemic!
I needed this part...
"It's gonna be alright
Everything will be alright"
"It's gonna be alright
Everything will be alright"
"It's gonna be alright
Everything will be alright"
"It's gonna be alright
Everything will be alright"
"Raise a glass
Raise a glass to our, our heterogeneity
Beautiful delirium
Our remarkable resilience through calamity"
"Raise a glass
Raise a glass to our, our heterogeneity
Our remarkable resilience through calamity"
"It's gonna be alright
It's gonna be alright
It's gonna be alright
Everything will be alright"
Didn't Modest Mouse say the same?
I don't think it means what you think it means though
@@kristinLFG Then Maynard should have a disclaimer added at some point: "The lyrics to this song are meant to be sarcastic, not literal" in order to avoid misinterpretation. When relaying any message, care should be considered that the gist not be lost amidst prima facie structure. I'll admit that you could be correct, Kristin. Perhaps he meant: "Nothing is alright." I have problems interpreting the Bible because of the same vague ambiguities.
@@ANDROLOMA I actually meant because in the lyrics it's in quotations. But sure, your thing is good too.
👽👽👽 HERE WE GO! 👽👽👽
The way he says “drink straight from the bottle”

Everything will be alright
For some. Hopefully us, right? Screw those other unfortunate bastards, better them than me.
No,it won't.
You have echoed my feelings upon hearing this song.
In Australia, it's she'll be right!
Everything will be alright. It always has been.
This might be one of the best songs of all time. This one hits me hard.
This song soothes my tortured soul and makes me cry. I bought a turntable just for this album .
Hello🌹how are you doing? Nice to meet you here.
Gunnar's drum performance is incredibly seductive. Such a sensitive, delicate song, and here's Gunnar on the drums making me feel other things... lol
Couldn't have picked a better ending and video to an already amazing album.
This song calms my 3 month old baby boy. I wish they didn’t require ads.
That mini scream from Carina at 0:52, is just an incredible detail in this song.
Best part
OoooooOOOH!
I’ve been sick for 5 years and before every surgery I have I listen to this song it’s so comforting!!!
"Everything will be alright" has nothing to do with us. Only in our absence, Will this phrase hold true. The sunrise is not dependent upon our survival. It's all gonna be alright.
Everything will be alright... cause we will die someday. So we have nothing to worry about
@Shane Green Maybe some of us will adapt and evolve and move on, maybe a song of hope saying no matter what we will prevail... life will prevail, or even as the world is in chaos they will still drink from the bottle drunk on the delusion that their life will be alright. Everything will be alright, the universe and life are much greater than our individual perceptions, no matter what you believe it will be alright.
Maynard singing everything’s gonna be alright is making me cry. I needed this more than he will ever know.
Glad I'm not the only one, cheers brother.
Get. A. Fucking. Grip.

I agree. 😁
Maynard a matchless vocal...
I can't tell you how many times i've listened to this song on repeat, dude lmfao. I'm also semi-envious of the trips Maynard must have had and the places he's gone to bring us this almost otherworldly art. I fucking love EVERY bit of it!!!!
Enjoy you and your family and all that surrounding you at this moment
This song came at the perfect moment for me, yes its gonna be alright
Did you end up being alright? It's been a year
@@tanksalot8002 hey Justin, thanks for asking. Yes definitely even though 1 year ago I was doubtful.. I feel better now and often happy.
One of his favorite duos/bands Dead Can Dance, They harmonize so well just like Brenden & Lisa
Normally with Puscifer album I am not a fan of every song. There are some I could skip without thinking about it. However this album is perfect from start to finish, and this song is incredible. Love it.
Ahh the beautiful Arizona high desert
Man, this song is so soothing. God bless their singing.
god I wish I could hear them both tell me "it's gonna be alright" EVERYDAY!

The sunrise was planned. This man misses nothing when he lays down his puzzle
The brother is awake!

RUclips recommendations got me here. I have never been more grateful for it. I found beauty
For those arguing over the message: The song is a mirror. It is showing you to you. If you take the words and analyze them, you will see the joke and cynicism. If you feel the music you will get something quite different. Which do you trust, your logical mind or your heart?
Well that's just like, your opinion man.
Not talking about the intent, just what it is, which is not a matter of opinion. It is a tautology.
OMG! What a voice! For 15 years I can't get used to it. Always amazes me.
Everytime I listen to Puscifer I am more convinced it's Maynards best project.
being a Soundguy for 30 plus years. and out of work since February I wish I coulda paid to see the entire event. im grateful for you guys doing this for us all. we need you to help us all through. much love and gratitude.
Just bought this from the Vimeo site and literally can't stop watching it. Absolutely one of the greatest shows I've ever seen. Incredible.
When this played live , ill have you all know
I cried. Really hard.
At the state of things...and the reassurance . Was like a big ol back pat from Puscifer lol
Insert loop and repeat.
it will be alright. eventually.
Divorced in 2020 and went thru it.
2021 Maynard says
Everything is gonna be alright
