Well said...audience are applauding the film where ever it is screened. And reviewers across India have given positive reviews. However a few reviewers in Tamil are giving negative reviews just to brag about their intelligence.
I disagree with your review bro yes 2 half is slighlty slow for 10-15 mins other than that movie is worth watching. Even KGF 2 had many minus like this and you ignored, but you magnified the errors in vikram.Even Karnan had slower screenplay but you did nt gave this kind of bad review .Starting to feel that your reviews are biased. Dialogues in Vikram are also good,Predictable Scenes??? .There are many movies with Predictable Scenes (John Wick etc..) but the way the executed is very good.Same like lokesh you also take the negatives and improve according to it.
Vikram movie , really nice . Different people , different taste. Easy to give comment like me but difficult to take action movie like vikram movie by lokesh ( director) . I really appreciated him . Valthuom 🙂

disagreeing with you after a long time. I personally think retrospective thinking about character depth is counterproductive in genre films. do the characters hold you for those three hours? then its a good job. coming out of the theatre and realizing that characters were not deep enough is also a win for the filmmaker (if you can wrap our head around where this is coming from) and as taste's shift with the times, action thrillers shift too. for me this was a completely satisfying , thumping film.

Mahaan review laye I was disappointed with him. Funny thing was he downgraded SaNa's music work. Mahaan wasn't a best from KS but still better than how he had reviewed. Vikram was not bad as he says.

As kamal fan, I really felt so excited and happy with this movie. Even if first half there was lack of screenplay for Kamal, but for this movie storyline I feel that is very important. All the characters still living in my mind after coming out from theatre. I respect your review bro but different people have different taste. For me, this movie is one of the greatest action tamil film that is comparable to hollywood.

As always movie is an individual experience. I could see it worked for many, hence lot of positive reviews. Likewise, for some audience it didn't work that includes me as well. I felt the same thing that @SecondShow had mentioned in the video. Too much of fight sequence felt boring after sometime. Lack of fresh scenes and predictable screenplay made it like an average film for me. But yes, it is definitely an individual's experience. If you like it, you like it! 🙌🏻

I consciously avoided this critical review before watching this film...but sad to say you are spot on in each and every point... technically brilliant film but let down by sloppy writing...one time watch...KAITHI still remains Loki's best film and one of the best action films in Tamil cinema...Bejoy was a criminally wasted character with such heavy lifting he did in kaithi.. This film is a perfect example for the saying "too many cooks spoil the broth"... way too many characters...
But you said about Bejoy character but if we give some more writing i t will definitely disturb another characters unwantedly in Vikram.... I think that much space is enough for be joy character.... Second I not feel all character are wasted because each character have that enough space ..other than main fafa kama and vjs character i can't forgot other supporting characters also... Semma bro! As a kamal fan and LK fan, I completely agree with you. LK should have given more importance to the script. The movie stands heavily on ensemble cast especially Surya. If you remove them and analyze the movie, it's really weak. For example (SPOILERS ahead), there is a scene where sandhanam's men attack vikram's family. An Ex undercover agent would have had basic common sense to try to hide his family since he has exposed himself. Same logic applies to Amar when he blasts sandhanam's house. And as you said Amar's transformation is very contrary to the dialogue he uttered to Bejoy during interrogation. I was not able to connect with Vikram's dialogues. All I saw was just BB Kamal. Also the climax was very weak. If Surya's cameo was not there, the film would have received very average reviews. Also I think repeating the gatling gun, drugs, one time settlement dialogue shows the lack of creativity. I am happy that Vikram is being celebrated. I see it as an atonement for ppl failing to celebrate so many of Kamal's movies before. I became a huge fan of LK after watching Managaram. It was crafted to perfection and was of hollywood standards. I am of the opinion that the next three movies of his, could not match Managaram in terms of script. I still hope he will do a movie better than Managaram one day.

Firstly agent Tina's work was to be unnoticed not to create a situation trying to do things let's put it in your way she's trying to hide them won't the mother character question everything and reach out to police ?? About amar no one knew about his wife apart from his team. His transformation is not weak it's just like kadavul nambikka irukka??... Varum moment that's what Bejoy says you can be anyone you think but when the person who doesn't even know what you do and dies for it you're going to change and if there is one character in the whole movie who understands vikram's situation it's amar as he is part of the same agency that's why he ends the case with finding who it is... And about the climax he is trying to establish a cinematic universe hence that's the climax he is not doing a standalone to have another climax... Finally comparing maanagaram with the others is just apples and oranges both are of completely different backdrop the only relation is nights... About kamals screen time... Rajan's screen time in Vada chennai was very small but at the end of the movie our mind was filled with Rajan because everything was related to him somehow that's what happened here too Kamal was not much in first half but when things start to reveal it felt like he was there throughout the first half and please stop talking about a movie as first half and second half it's A MOVIE
Bro how do you say the movie is saved by suriya? Haven't you seen Vijay Sethupathi role that was awesome lot of mass moments from him. And also Fahad role also well written and he performed phenomenolly without letting first half boring eventhough it's just investigation particularly the prostitute scene and him outside the window those scenes are written smartly. The interval scene is one of authentic mass scenes ever in the history of Tamil cinema. A good movie is made by playing with characters not by only depending on an individual, that's what Tamil cinema is doing wrong for years but this movie is a masterclass when it comes to character writing. Suriya character is completely out of this movie, he is mostly kaithi oriented. I don't understand how you say suriya saved this movie? I really want to disagree with you.. But whatever said was true.. My opinion with kamal given a small screen time is where I draw the line.. The characters where given ample time to develop. I like the movie on the whole. I'd give a 7 or 8. I hope LK beats his best which is kaithi. Which was fantastic. But i definitely agree with getting the periyamma guns in recent movies.
I felt that Breaking Bad connection is many places: 1. The concept of base material required to cook (S1E7) (This is pretty much what whole vikram movie is based on?) 2. Death of Jesse's girlfriend, FaFa's too 3. Chemical Lab Hazmat suits, even the lab itself was like Gus Fring's lab. 4. Climax where Walt faces off the Aryan Brotherhood himself with an automatic, the color scheme of the scenes is eerily familiar 5. Talking about color, the blue thing VJS keeps biting to get superhuman strength? Blue is the color that Walt cooks. 6. VJS's golden teeth is just like Tuco's And a few more that I can't recall now... I think Lokesh is like one of those guys who will copy and scramble it so well that its hard to decipher to conclude that its copied.

Yes bro I agree with your review. The Fahad Fassil portion was written quite well which made the first half to look better than the next half. Despite having too much of action sequences placed in second half, Lokesh has failed to keep the audiences engaged as he did in kaidhi where the audiences were not given any clue of what the protagonist was up to until he come up with a machine gun when he was surrounded by hundreds of goons. Speaking of this it also remainds me of Managaram where he kept the audiences puzzled until the complexity is unraveled. These things made me to set my expectations so high for vikram but somewhat disappointed due to a weaker storyline though I really appreciate for its technical stuffs and casting performances. Vikram stands as a thriller based on its first half and it is just one among the action commercial films for its second half. Thus its quite hard to determine the actual genre of the film like beast. I wouldn't complain if Vikram was just promoted as an action commercial. However they declared it as a mystery/action film. Alfred Hitchcock once said "There is no terror in the bang, only in the anticipation of it". Even as a kamal fanboy I felt disappointed in some places for its repetitive action sequences that we have already experienced in movies like Kaidhi, Kgf, Rocky. Rahman is correct. He doesn't seem biased. One should point out the mistakes so that it could be rectified in future for sake of all. Reviewers must be honest to their profession but not to the film makers.

I personally think retrospective thinking about character depth is counterproductive in genre films. do the characters hold you for those three hours? then its a good job. coming out of the theatre and realizing that characters were not deep enough is also a win for the filmmaker (if you can wrap our head around where this is coming from) and as taste's shift with the times, action thrillers shift too. for me this was a completely satisfying , thumping film.

As kamal fan, I really felt so excited and happy with this movie. Even if first half there was lack of screenplay for Kamal, but for this movie storyline I feel that is very important. All the characters still living in my mind after coming out from theatre. I respect your review bro but different people have different taste. For me, this movie is one of the greatest action tamil film that is comparable to hollywood.

As always movie is an individual experience. I could see it worked for many, hence lot of positive reviews. Likewise, for some audience it didn't work that includes me as well. I felt the same thing that @SecondShow had mentioned in the video. Too much of fight sequence felt boring after sometime. Lack of fresh scenes and predictable screenplay made it like an average film for me.

I consciously avoided this critical review before watching this film...but sad to say you are spot on in each and every point... technically brilliant film but let down by sloppy writing...one time watch...KAITHI still remains Loki's best film and one of the best action films in Tamil cinema...Bejoy was a criminally wasted character with such heavy lifting he did in kaithi..

Vikram is a masterpiece movie. Worthy watching and far far better than RRR, KGF2,...
Semma bro! As a kamal fan and LK fan, I completely agree with you. LK should have given more importance to the script. The movie stands heavily on ensemble cast especially Surya. If you remove them and analyze the movie, it's really weak.
For example (SPOILERS ahead), there is a scene where sandhanam's men attack vikram's family. An Ex undercover agent would have had basic common sense to try to hide his family since he has exposed himself. Same logic applies to Amar when he blasts sandhanam's house. And as you said Amar's transformation is very contrary to the dialogue he uttered to Bejoy during interrogation. I was not able to connect with Vikram's dialogues. All I saw was just BB Kamal. Also the climax was very weak. If Surya's cameo was not there, the film would have received very average reviews. Also I think repeating the gatling gun, drugs, one time settlement dialogue shows the lack of creativity.
I am happy that Vikram is being celebrated. I see it as an atonement for ppl failing to celebrate so many of Kamal's movies before.
I became a huge fan of LK after watching Managaram. It was crafted to perfection and was of hollywood standards. I am of the opinion that the next three movies of his, could not match Managaram in terms of script. I still hope he will do a movie better than Managaram one day.

Firstly agent Tina's work was to be unnoticed not to create a situation trying to do things let's put it in your way she's trying to hide them won't the mother character question everything and reach out to police ?? About amar no one knew about his wife apart from his team. His transformation is not weak it's just like kadavul nambikka irukka??... Varum moment that's what Bejoy says you can be anyone you think but when the person who doesn't even know what you do and dies for it you're going to change and if there is one character in the whole movie who understands vikram's situation it's amar as he is part of the same agency that's why he ends the case with finding who it is... And about the climax he is trying to establish a cinematic universe hence that's the climax he is not doing a standalone to have another climax... Finally comparing maanagaram with the others is just apples and oranges both are of completely different backdrop the only relation is nights... About kamals screen time... Rajan's screen time in Vada chennai was very small but at the end of the movie our mind was filled with Rajan because everything was related to him somehow that's what happened here too Kamal was not much in first half but when things start to reveal it felt like he was there throughout the first half and please stop talking about a movie as first half and second half it's A MOVIE
Bro how do you say the movie is saved by suriya? Haven't you seen Vijay Sethupathi role that was awesome lot of mass moments from him. And also Fahad role also well written and he performed phenomenolly without letting first half boring eventhough it's just investigation particularly the prostitute scene and him outside the window those scenes are written smartly. The interval scene is one of authentic mass scenes ever in the history of Tamil cinema. A good movie is made by playing with characters not by only depending on an individual, that's what Tamil cinema is doing wrong for years but this movie is a masterclass when it comes to character writing. Suriya character is completely out of this movie, he is mostly kaithi oriented. I don't understand how you say suriya saved this movie? I really want to disagree with you.. But whatever said was true.. My opinion with kamal given a small screen time is where I draw the line.. The characters where given ample time to develop. I like the movie on the whole. I'd give a 7 or 8. I hope LK beats his best which is kaithi. Which was fantastic. But i definitely agree with getting the periyamma guns in recent movies.
I felt that Breaking Bad connection is many places:
1. The concept of base material required to cook (S1E7) (This is pretty much what whole vikram movie is based on?)
2. Death of Jesse's girlfriend, FaFa's too
3. Chemical Lab Hazmat suits, even the lab itself was like Gus Fring's lab.
4. Climax where Walt faces off the Aryan Brotherhood himself with an automatic, the color scheme of the scenes is eerily familiar
5. Talking about color, the blue thing VJS keeps biting to get superhuman strength? Blue is the color that Walt cooks.
6. VJS's golden teeth is just like Tuco's
And a few more that I can't recall now... I think Lokesh is like one of those guys who will copy and scramble it so well that its hard to decipher to conclude that its copied.
Even Quentin Terantino said that he copies many movies and makes an original one out of it. Know the difference between copying and getting inspired

Yes bro I agree with your review. The Fahad Fassil portion was written quite well which made the first half to look better than the next half. Despite having too much of action sequences placed in second half, Lokesh has failed to keep the audiences engaged as he did in kaidhi where the audiences were not given any clue of what the protagonist was up to until he come up with a machine gun when he was surrounded by hundreds of goons. Speaking of this it also remainds me of Managaram where he kept the audiences puzzled until the complexity is unraveled. These things made me to set my expectations so high for vikram but somewhat disappointed due to a weaker storyline though I really appreciate for its technical stuffs and casting performances. Vikram stands as a thriller based on its first half and it is just one among the action commercial films for its second half. Thus its quite hard to determine the actual genre of the film like beast. I wouldn't complain if Vikram was just promoted as an action commercial. However they declared it as a mystery/action film. Alfred Hitchcock once said "There is no terror in the bang, only in the anticipation of it". Even as a kamal fanboy I felt disappointed in some places for its repetitive action sequences that we have already experienced in movies like Kaidhi, Kgf, Rocky. Rahman is correct. He doesn't seem biased. One should point out the mistakes so that it could be rectified in future for sake of all. Reviewers must be honest to their profession but not to the film makers.
