Nope. You can still buy whatever engine you want. What changed were taxes and insurances based from the environment (climate change) and in an effort to help it government taxes higher displacement engines higher. Due to that, now people are interested if it looks nice inside so when they travel they can feel comfortable.

One small thing that I dislike is having no lights on the wipers speed selector / high beam lights lever. Small detail but anoyng when driving at rainy nights and kind ironic that in a car full of useless lights a basic one is missing.
Mercdes-benz make us think this is a very expensive interior with those cheap lights and then they use a lot of plastic for the interior, in past I would prefer a C over an Model 3 or giulia, but now I like more an model 3 or an giulia

True. Back in the day, even the C Class felt well-built with a reliability to match. Whilst the new models are certainly more luxurious and functional, they have dropped the standard overall.
