The Americans can't compete with this monster superb engineering!
I'm sitting here with a tears in my eyes after watching that magnificent aircraft take off(still kicking out six smoke plumes), presumably on route to it's peaceful home base in Ukraine in 2020. In 1990, whilst working at the Farnborough Air Show, I had the immense privilege of actually going inside the aircraft, whilst it was parked up on the apron. It was absolutely vast inside and I was told, that it would have been possible to fit a 747 fuselage in the hold with space to spare. The crew were mainly Ukrainian and they were so proud of this giant, telling us how much it meant to them. How typical of the Russians to destroy this, as one of their first targets. Slava Ukraini.

The Airbus A380 and this AN225 are both freaks of aviation engineering !! The tail of the 225 looks like an old 1970s Lockheed Constellation...on steroids.
