I remember watching the music channels back in the nineties. I to used to record my favorite songs on to VHS video. It never occurred to me to ask to see a certain video in order to record it. Good one.
This was probably the first piece of promotion for Batman Forever that I ever saw. I think it was on a music chart show in the UK as an Exclusive back in early '95. I was majorly excited that this was for the third Batman film and it looked huge compared to Returns. As a Batman fan, this tune was in my head for ages and the footage really got me pumped. I was surprised when I saw the film in the Summer of '95 that a lot of scenes were in this video and not the final cut, like Bruce waking up from a nightmare, alternative takes as well as the graffiti in Harvey Dent's cell at Arkham. As I wasn't a U2 follower, I had no idea what the music video was about but the Batman Forever footage looked incredible from my point of view. One of the best nostalgic films of my childhood as I loved the hype, merchandise and style the film gave us. I'll never forget it. I so miss 1995.
I actually hated the movie and I had been watching batman since I was 4 when the first movie came out, loved it, loved returns, absolutely hated forever and batman and robin, genuinely a disappointing movie for me that year, the one upside was the soundtracks, two movies with better soundtracks than the films themselves, but i can understand the nostalgia though 100%
I remember being hugely confused by this video and by all the merchandise that had deleted scenes in it. It was like we were sold a different movie entirely, or it was supposed to be a much darker, edgier movie with simply more action scenes. It looked like we were going to get a live action movie of The Animated Series. I remember being so hyped because that TV show was massive at the time. The official sticker book which had Two Face's escape from Arkham which then wasn't in the movie at all gave the first clue that what we eventually got wasn't really what the makers actually wanted when they shot the movie. I still maintain there's a cut of Forever that would be great because there's heaps of scenes that could be re edited into something much darker. There's so many shots of cool stunts and nice imagery (there's shots of the Batmobile in this video that make it look genuinely cool) that a good editor could turn into something properly epic. Loads of unused footage, and fixing the colour grading, cutting out all of the goofy stuff except when Riddler is being crazy, and you'd have a properly solid Batman movie that felt more like an episode of The Animated Series. It's all in the edit. There's a great Batman movie in there I guarantee it. The only major mis-step that would be hard to fix would be the nipples on the costumes but even those could be editted out now quite easily. It would be like the Snyder Cut, completely different in feel but using different edits of what was shot.

Prince came back from the grave to talk about his Batman album. This was great though, won't fault ya.
Amen!💖
*Anyone* *watching* *this* *in* *2024* *.*
Luv it !!! Thanks for posting the original.
Summer of 95 & im 28 years old and best time of my Life 🤘🤘🤘
This song makes the movie look way better than it is
So you get why when i was a teen at that time i was obsessed with this movie even before watching it...The music was perfect, the Animated comics vibes+ using the best parts of the movie...the guitar and the orchestra...plus watch Seal's Kiss from a rose...
These two videos alone portray a much better movie than it actually is...
Don’t care what anybody says,
The greatest guitar riff ever played.
How come this music video wasn't installed in the "Batman Forever" DVD? It was a hit just like "Seal's Kiss by a Rose!"
Like: song is the best thing about the movie.
Comment: if you think otherwise
When you were a child during 1995 when the movie came out, the movie was awesome. I still love this movie as a guilty pleasure. I got so many childhood memories about it.
@@DiamondDead I didn't grow up in the 90s but remember watching this look when I was young. But some of the characters were betrayed inaccurate.
one of the best batman movies ever!!!
@Rob Bob correct on that one
No, Bryce. You're right. I came to the comments precisely for this.
Born in 83...the good times kept going & ended on 2011 for me..the best batman was this & Batman Returns with Michelle Pfeiffer as Catwoman where Siouxsie & the Banshees Face 2 Face song was its theme...Lots of Nostalgia from the 90's , late80's and early 2000's 😢
I remember back in the summer of 1995 I went to see Batman Forever at the cinema 3 times at the age of 17
My God...I'm hitting 43 now and I still remember that movie...in fact, I've got the Robin's haircut style after watching the movie...I used to have it as long as Bono had it in that time
How about Batman Forever on this movie motion picture film
Twice for me 🙋🏽♂️
@@Lazarus_81 and who are you.
You must be the same age as my brother, he said the same thing basically. 😆
Holy shit this version disappeared from youtube for years and now it's back! Ultra thanks for the upload man 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Who else wants a full blown batman cartoon with this kinda animation besides me?
i wish modern western animation tried to go back to this style instead of mimicking anime or make the same adult cartoon bullshit. This art style reminds me of Aeon Flux, and its perfect for a dark and troubled character like Batman.
I definitely do! I love all the batmen on the strings xD
This video screams 90's and for the right reasons. It's dark with its own artistic style apart from the heady optimistic 80's. It was also during the time U2 was on point and at its best game.
Original Batman came out in 1989. Wouldn’t classify it as optimistic.
@@SFO14the 1980s were a time of great optimism. The economy was roaring, new forms of musical formats were being created, and social norms and taboos were being challenged. By 1989 the hangover from that heady high started to happen.
The greatest Bond theme that never was.
Bono and The Edge did write GoldenEye, as performed by Tina Turner. That will have to suffice.
@@fromthehaven94 Bono and The Edge did GoldenEye while at the same time, the OTHER HALF of U2 did a Mission Impossible remix
Great song. Poor movie
Movie is great Bro, way better than any new Disney hero movie
LETRA
You don't know how you took it
You just know what you've got
Oh Lordy, you've been stealing
From the thieves and you got caught
In the headlights of a stretch car
You're a star
Dressing like your sister
Living like a tart
They don't know what you're doing
Babe, it must be art
You're a headache, in a suitcase
You're a star
Oh no, don't be shy
You don't have to go blind
Hold me, thrill me, kiss me, kill me
You don't know how you got here
You just know you want out
Believing in yourself
Almost as much as you doubt
You're a big smash
You wear it like a rash
Star
Oh no, don't be shy
It's a crime to cry
Hold me, thrill me, kiss me, kill me
They want you to be Jesus
Now go down on one knee
But they want their money back
If you're alive at thirty-three
And you're turning tricks
With your crucifix
You're a star
Ooh child
Of course you're not shy
You don't have to deny love
Hold me, thrill me, kiss me, kill me
"and you're turning tricks/in your crucifix" - 11 year old me rocking out in my room
Hands down the best ever Batman song
*Who's* *here* *in* *2024* *?* *.*
You already know it!!!!
"Batman Forever" may not have been a great movie, but it sure had a damn good soundtrack - U2, Seal, Flaming Lips, Offspring, PJ Harvey, Mazzy Star et al.
Such a terrific soundtrack I really enjoy it.
This is the song that introduced me to U2 when I was a lad.
I absolutely loved this song and video as a kid and it's definitely my favourite U2 song to this day.
Hey nerdic warrior, they are some band looking and listening back, i remember watching live aid Wembley stadium as a 12 year old and witnessing U2 arriving at the top table, hear in the uk they all go on about the overrated queen and their performance, nope it was U2's moment and they went on to superstar level, i personally saw them at my home city of Glasgow playing at my teams stadium, Celtic Park, zoo tv tour, fucking awesome 👌
Always loved this song but just revisted video after learning the big bat at the beginning was from the "Schumacher cut" that was never released
I loved the movie and soundtrack since my childhood, when I was 8 years old. Brings me back memories I don't care what anyone said about Batman forever it was great, and the action was worth it. At 2:33 that moan there LOL! this is one of my favorite songs to the soundtrack along with kiss from a rose, and Brandy where are you now, it's 2020 still listening to all the songs from the 90's during quarantine.
100% this. I was the same age. I loved this album.
Right there with ya! I was the same age.. still got my glass cups from McDonald's. Remember those lol?

Give me the 70's, 80's & 90's any day - everything started going to shit after the millennium.
I quit my first job to this song in the 90s. Came home and dumped my girlfriend because this song inspired me to pursue my goal as a musician.
So underrated! And the animation rocks!
Val Kilmer was the second best batman, first being Michael Keaton
If only the rest of U2’s music sounded like this
Listen to the album "Achtung Baby". It does sound like this.
Their 90s stuff sounds like this.
JawkneeJay: Then they would be accused of ripping off T Rex.
The joshua tree great album too
This Song was released when I was 9 years old and believe me or not, I loved it even back then. Didn't quite get it, but it had something to it. Now I am 36 years and I get the chills, everytime I listen to this song. It is magical !
Same. It was all over the radio that summer. Odd how Kiss From a Rose has stuck around but this song is nearly forgotten.
Encontrara versión original no esta fácil...
De acuerdo contigo
Ni el canal oficial de U2 lo tiene
One of the best songs live... it was absolutely brilliant when they played it in Dublin a good few years ago👏🏼👏🏼☘️
Ah, the 90's! A raunchy and overly stylistic time.
The movie was a piece of crap, but this song is pure gold.
The ORIGINAL and the BEST.... just like the movie itself FOREVER!
#ReleaseTheSchumacherCut
4:22 I love the violins at the end, amazing band and soundtrack.
1995 was a great year! Between MTV video's, Unplugged Concerts, this video and Seal's "Kiss by a Rose 🌹" video, I have great memories! Hanging out with friends and having "great sex" with beautiful young girls, before they became boring wives and moms, lol!!!!!
This is one of those moments when the theme song was better than the movie 😂
Bond, Batman & Mission Impossible: their respective creativity made them even more beloved
Correct me if I’m wrong but wasn’t just The Edge involved with that one…?
I can't believe this song turns 25 this year. Seems like yesterday that it was released.
