It's not just the fact that they tried (and failed... miserably) to snap back at the parts of the MCU fandom they deemed "toxic" -- for me personally, it's the decisions they made when it came to creating the show & its characters that I tend to have the most issues with. To put it simply: - They turned Jennifer Walters/She-Hulk into a feminist's wet dream whose narcissism could put Dennis Reynolds (from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia) to shame - They turned Emil Blonsky/Abomination into a lily-livered self-help guru... or rather, they turned him into Korg 2.0 - They've pretty much been turning Bruce Banner/Hulk into a gamma-irradiated soy-boy since Endgame - They turned She-Hulk's origin story, wherein Bruce saved her life via a blood transfusion, into what can be effectively seen as an equivalent to contracting AIDs via Bruce's blood in Jennifer's open wound - *Edit:* I forgot to mention the travesty that is Skaar -- like, him just being dropped out of nowhere just completely fucked over our chances of seeing World War Hulk... and the fact they made him look like a Gen-Z clown with a silly-ass haircut is just salt in the GD wound And believe it or not, those are my issues with just the characters... _I haven't even gotten to how badly they wrote the story yet!_ *Edit:* You'll notice I didn't add anything about Dare Devil -- his character came out of this shitshow relatively unscathed.
Disney's whole modus operandi has been to attack fans, no matter what fanbase is it. They'll serve you garbage on a plate and claim it's a 5 course meal, then when you complain they throw a tantrum and act like you're the problem. Don't like She-Hulk? You're a misogynist! Don't like Rey? You just hate strong independent women! Don't like the new Little Mermaid? You must be a rayciss! God forbid we get a movie with good writing, good character development and decent CGI.
G&g goes to politics. I don't . I never talked about the strong female character archetypes because it's not important to me. It's how the story is done that matters. And she hulk had plenty of those strong female character moments. But I think that immediately bashing things on feminism and politics isn't always the right way to go . You have to go into the technical aspect of things. I personally thought that making the audience the villain in a show like she hulk was the worst decision they could possibly think of.
