Everyone thinks "Warfighter" killed this franchise. But in truth, "Warfighter" was a symptom of the franchise's biggest issue: Obsession with copying competitors instead of innovating. "Airborne", with its nonlinear combat and adaptive AI, was a rare attempt to try something competitors hadn't done, but its rote WWII setting and plot ensured "Modern Warfare", released that same year, would attract all the attention. The motion controls in "Heroes 2" are a mildly unique touch, but ultimately "Heroes 2" is another forgettable instalment in a doomed franchise.
@@vdayucla COD4 was the first Call of Duty that doesn’t take place during World War 1 or 2 and that was risky but as far as the recent COD games I agree with you.
@@Swift19850 | Yep, Infinity Ward originally had amazingly unique (for their time) ideas for sequels to COD4, including alien invasions or zombies created via chemical warfare. But Activision, as usual, forced the studio to recycle COD4 into MW2. :-/
@@vdayucla I have to be honest MW2 is a fun and great game but one thing about COD I couldn’t stand was trying to copy other games like adding battle royal by trying to be like Fortnite,PUBG or Apex Legends
For some reason, I loved the over the top weird motion gun controls. Especially manually pumping the shotgun between rapid shots while leaning from cover, slowly strafing, and aiming with pixel precision, something that only Wii controls could offer.
My first fps game. I loved it. The online was so awesome. I definitely wanted it because I wanted to experience a fps game online. And I got the game since it allowed up to 32 players which I thought was new and amazing in the fps world of gaming. I remember seeing at least a thousand people online which blew my mind. (I knew other fps games had 20x more than that.) And there were many rooms to choose from. I can't explain it well. But the online felt cozy because there was a lot of rooms to choose from and that there were a lot of people online. I liked that cozy feeling. My favorite map was the village. And I loved capture the flag mode. It was thrilling. The music when you grabbed the flag and you had the run back was intense. (I think it was intense. I'm not sure anymore if intense music came on. I think it did.) Sadly, the amount of players went down from a 1000 to 500 to 100. I think I only saw 50 people online at max. It was sad to see the game dying. :( It's a great game. I wonder what's the max number of people online was. Was it more than 1 thousand? Maybe. idk.
I wanted to like this game since it touted that it had 32-person online multiplayer, but honestly, it just didn’t feel satisfying to play, and that’s coming from someone who legit enjoyed both Red Steel and Call of Duty 3 on the Wii because at least they were novel attempts at a Wii FPS, and COD3, in particular, felt like it had much tighter controls (Red Steel was just purely janky fun, imo). I even kinda liked Vanguard on the Wii when I rented it, so clearly my standards were not high for Wii FPS games. For whatever reason, though, I just couldn’t get into Heroes 2.
Ah this was my first online fps on wii. Man i loved that port map and hiding in those crates with that rail glitch! Sniping was so fun with the wii remote. So many good memories.
LMAO. I know the glitch you are talking about. I laughed when my opponents would try to throw bombs at the crate and shoot at it. That would make me feel tensed and anxious. But it was also funny. Great game. Really fun!
@@whiteemerald_6802 lmaooo i loved this game so much man... the fact that u had a gamertag and there was leader boards!! Made me feel proud to own a wii haha since i didnt have a 360 or ps3
fun fact : this game was ported into nintendo wii in 2007 and uses an "racing game engine" which (Electronic Arts Graphics Library) "Need For Speed Series"
I really liked the motion controls in this game. It's clearly a 6/10 game with a basic controller (bad AI, simplistic design, difficulty spikes), but I had a lot of fun with the radio, sniper, panzertrek and most motion controls. Also, pumping the shotgun with the nunchuck made for one of the most satisfying shotguns to use in all of gaming.
To me, this game is easy as hell, even on hero difficulty. I had to do a pistol only run to add some challenge. The only level that jumps in difficulty is the final one.
im saying the same Mike did :P i had to stop playing because the game got so hard on normal difficulty that i got stuck, meanwhile, i got stuck in heroes 1... trying to do the last mission in the hardest difficutly, it also doesnt add any new guns and removes bots.
@@brunocar02 - I'm not a fan of the first _Heroes_ to be honest. The campaign missions in that one were repetitive as hell and lacked any music during gameplay. From what Mike said in this review, it seems that this game is somewhat an improvement. What do you think though? Is it better than the first game or not?
not at all, its just as repetitive, but with none of the freedom and unbalanced gameplay caused by the new health system, where instead of carrying healthpacks around, you regen health, but to compensate for it they lowered your health, leading to you dying really easily, to the point using the awesome shotgun is suicide. as for the combat, besides the change in health system, there are no new guns, enemies and anything new is either a level gimmick thats super scripted or the arcade mode that only the wii version has. oh and once again, no bots, which was one of the reasons i keep coming back to heroes 1.
Nowhere near as good as Heroes 1, apparently the PSP version of Heroes 2 (only played the wii version) is actually missing a level in the campaign. Heroes 1 had open levels and just was more fun overall and less bullshit. The shotgun has a new animation and the weapons have changed textures, those are the only improvements.
A game lost to a simpler time, of early online multiplayer games. but if the feeling of nostalgia could be bottled, it would have a Heroes 2 label on it. the first fps me, my brother and many others ever played online with, and 100% it is the online experience that is worth the price of ownership alone. the hit detection/time to kill was hilariously bad, and had to be seen to be believed, but what a hoot this game was in 2007. you could not play this game, and not have a smile on your face.
The only motion control option I hate is the sniper rifle. I hate that shit. Everything else I can work with and to be honest, I had a lot of fun shooting enemies with a rocket launcher. But I totally agree that the difficulty gets fucking brutal.
really enjoyed this game on psp! too bad the wii version seems a bit cumbersome to control, even though psp face buttons for aiming aren't exactly optimal as well, it felt just right to me
How is a Medal of Honor game being more on the arcade side a bad thing? It's a good thing! Means more fast paced fun. Heroes 2's gameplay doesn't look arcade like. Looks more tactical.
Dont know about the wii version but the PSP was my childhood. The multiplayer was enjoyable, until hackers started populating the server with their infinite bazookas.
PSP version while is way easier to control, offers less actually There's no mine sweeping, no radio tune in, some bonus objectives are missing and an entire mission in non-present That and it looks and preforms worse than the Wii version *edit* Also some weapons feel broken, the MG42 is insanely inaccurate and overheats in a second and the BAR is also stupid inaccurate, I could hit distant targets better with my .45
I think criticising this game's graphics is somewhat unfair. The Wii can only output so much, especially since its prowess is a somewhat beefier OG Xbox.
