It completely depends on landlords and the ownership class unfortunately

    • @thinkofsomethingcooler
      @thinkofsomethingcooler 2 месяца назад

@@Tortilla.Reformno it depends on the new laws the landlords have to accommodate like green initiatives no eviction laws and raised taxes and lockdowns. I’m not defending any class I’m extremely aware of what residents landlords and commercial residents and landlords go through in NYC. Comments like yours are pure propaganda so ppl do not understand what they are voting for. Just like shop and restaurant owners get pushed out of 50 year leases mom and pop commercial real estate landlords (especially the ones that live right above the restaurant or shop) also get pushed out. Ppl like you vilify these independent landlords and that results in corporations taking over the properties. You have no idea what a pawn you are dropping vilification comments like that. Eventually corporations will own the city bc of this. And it’s not new. The worst offenders are actually educational institutions like NYU which scooped up the entirety of downtown then indoctrinated its students to say things like you just did and to protest local restaurants and shops to get rid of any independent competition. I’ve watched it since the 70s. Wake up

@@Tortilla.Reformyeah I figured my comment would get deleted. Short version: comments like yours vilify mom & pop independent real estate owners and pave the way for corporate take over of real estate which has been happening since the 70s. Congrats you’re doing the work of the corporate class

      ❤️✝️❤️the word of God❤️✝️❤️
      2 Timothy 3:16-17 NLT
All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.
      Romans 10:13 NLT
      ...
For "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."
      1 Corinthians 13:4-7 NLT
4 Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud. 5 or rude. It does not demand its own way.
It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. 6 It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. 7 Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance. Amen
      Romans 10:13 NLT
      ...
For "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."
      Psalms 40:1-2 NLT
I waited patiently for the Lord to help me, and he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the pit of despair, out of the mud and the mire. He set my feet on solid ground and steadied me as I walked along.
Proverbs 3:4-8 King James Version (KJV)
Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; And lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, And he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: Fear the LORD, and depart from evil. It shall be health to thy navel, And marrow to thy bones.
2 Chronicles 7:14, “…if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”
      2 Chronicles 15:7 NLT
But as for you, be strong and courageous, for your work will be rewarded."
      2 Timothy 1:7 NLT
For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.
11 Make it your goal to live a quiet life, minding your own business and working with your hands, just as we instructed you before.
      1 Thessalonians 4:11 NLT
58 So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless.
      1 Corinthians 15:58 NLT
      2 Corinthians 3:17 NLT
For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
      Luke 9:23-24 NLT
Then he said to the crowd, "If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross daily, and follow me, If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake, you will save it.
For we live by faith, not by sight.
      2 Corinthians 5:7
      Proverbs 18:21 NLT
The tongue can bring death or life; those who love to talk will reap the consequences.
James 4:7 Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
      Habakkuk 2:14 NLT
For as the waters fill the sea, the earth will be filled with an awareness of the glory of the Lord.
      Psalms 23:5-6 NLT
You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies. You honor me by anointing my head with oil. My cup overflows with blessings. Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the Lord forever. Amen
      Psalms 23:1-3 NLT

      1 Peter 5:8-9 NLT
Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith.
Remember that your family of believers all over the world is going through the same kind of suffering you are.
      Proverbs 3:5-6 NIV

in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.
      2 Corinthians 4:18 NLT

-everything will be fine for you."
      2 Corinthians 13:13-14

In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, O Lord, will keep me safe.
      Micah 6:8 NLT
No, O people, the Lord has told you what is good, and this is what he requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.
      Jeremiah 29:11-13
11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. Amen
      3 John 1:11 NLT
Dear friend, don't let this bad example influence you. Follow only what is good.

      Proverbs 12:25 NLT

Acts of the Apostles 1:8 NLT
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere - in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."
Galatians 6:9 So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up. Amen ❤️✝️❤️
Isaiah 1:16-20 Wash and make yourselves clean. Take your evil deeds out of my sight; stop doing wrong. 17 Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow. 18 Come now, let us settle the matter says the Lord. Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.19 If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the good things of the land; 20 but if you resist and rebel, you will be devoured by the sword. For the mouth of the Lord has spoken Amen❤️✝️❤️
1 Timothy 2:1-15 Instructions on Worship
1 I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people- 2 for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. 3 This is good, and pleases God our Savior, 4 who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, 6 who gave himself as a ransom for all people. This has now been witnessed to at the proper time. 7 And for this purpose I was appointed a herald and an apostle-I am telling the truth, I am not lying-and a true and faithful teacher of the Gentiles. 8 Therefore I want the men everywhere to pray, lifting up holy hands without anger or disputing. 9 I also want the women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, adorning themselves, not with elaborate hairstyles or gold or pearls or expensive clothes,10 but with good deeds, appropriate for women who profess to worship God.
11 A woman should learn in quietness and full submission. 12 I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man; she must be quiet.13 For Adam was formed first, then Eve. 14 And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner. 15 But women will be saved through childbearing-if they continue in faith, love and holiness with propriety.

Love your videos! Can I make one suggestion - that you make it easier to find the names of the places?? Like either in the name of video or description, or a permanent overlay on the video. Feels like the place gets lost in the video IMO

Once when we were down visiting our daughter at college we planned to go out to eat. It was her first year so we asked some other families with older kids to recommend someplace local that was good. They kept listing different chain restaurants and were completely baffled when I said “ no, I want to go someplace “ local”.
They had no idea what I was talking about. 😒
They were the kind of people who eat McDonalds in Paris.
Support local, support authentic; try new things.
