While it's fun to hang out with folks who collect the same things as I do, it's also fun to hang out with people who collect other stuff. I don't collect MotU or Transformers, but have friends who do. I don't collect GI Joe, but I dig your channel. This way I get to enjoy a bunch of other stuff that I don't have money or space for.
It's Chad, I saw the photo you posted for this video but when I went to click on the notification I could not find it in my feed like it normally appears and when I clicked directly on your channel I could not find it there either so I missed the show last night. Fast forward to just a few minutes ago Thursday morning at 7:20 am 7/25 and now I can see it and watch it. Don't know why it happened but I just thought I'd let you know. And yes I'm a subscriber & channel member.
Actually you could get six Death Star play sets like some people do to make one. Or they could improve it more and make one similar but larger with extra attachments to make it even bigger to expand on the play set. The thrown room stairs and a way better control center for the Death Star laser and improve on the containment detention center as well as a larger compactor room. Maybe even add tie fighter landing bay with another add on for the millennium falcon
Lmao. 😂 don’t think hardly any classified sells in Canada because the $20 figures you get would be priced $50 here. So actually they priced them so high so they could sell you one at a high price instead of making 10 at $5 each. They try to sell you one for $50. lol 😂 snake eyes origin figures were $5 at the dollar store. I got them for my daughter and they still sucked. I only bought two classified and they were priced $35 each. So waste of money and I also gave those ones to my daughter. lol
The hiss without the extra figures would have cost far less as the more they make the cheaper the price is. If they make a smaller amount then the price goes higher. Can’t wait to buy a few of the Russian Hinds from delta17toys from Ken I bet they end up riced at $150 each because they will only have a limited amount made at a time. So that’s reasonable since we pay that for some rare vintage vehicles. Plus I will fully be supporting Ken and Steve so buy lots more of there army builders and that is what I am going to do with callsign longbow as well already made two orders what’s one more.
My way of looking at nostalgia on collecting action figures is more about the DNA than the IP. Take Valaverse on the outside it has the military characteristics of GI Joe but so did Eagle Force in the 80's and Rambo, Spiral Zone but it also has the size like He-man, Ninja Turtles. It has captured the feel of the 60's Joes with the ability to change boots, pants, shirts, equipment heads on each figure so you can make your own with just some hot water. Additional gear that you can add. It has a lore in the comic book each character has their own story that you can read on the packaging to get a feel for what the line is about. Bobby has found a way to merge the versatility of the old action figures of the 60's,70's ( Gi Joe, Lone Ranger, Big Jim, Mego 8" figures) with the 80's into something that is new but has the feel of the old.
This was a fantastic discussion gentlemen! The articles at the beginning and the ensuing conversations have certainly got me thinking about where I currently sit on the nostalgia spectrum, probably bordering on the unhealthy!! But now I know, and knowing is.... Great to see you back Chad! Love seeing you and Jay share your thoughts and opinions. That's the best type of content, entertaining and educational. Much love mate 👍
As for nostalgia when it comes to kids one of my daughters wants everything Barbie and everything monster high now. lol $20 to $50 a figure wtf so we always have to wait for sales as the $20 price is the low end.
Great stream as always good sir! Very compelling topic, and always a pleasure listening and interacting! Hope you are well, I know words only offer so much comfort but I hope you find your solace word by word day by day!
Now Mash toy line made in 3 3/4 o ring would be nostalgia but GIJoe 3 3/4 is not nostalgia because we never stop collecting it. It’s our chairished hobby. So anything we add to our collections is an amplification of our true passion for the GIJoe line.
Because they priced them too high. lol the toys r us had 30 and only sold 3. So when you price out kids and collectors then nothing sells. Basically they marked it up 3 times the price. $30 vehicles marked up to $90. Lmao 😂 talk about a rip off. They didn’t even have batteries
@@Its.Chad. Yeah sure, 1/12 Star Wars seems less popular than G.I.Joe. Giant 300$ vehicles sell for Joes, so my argument is that if that TIE fighter was original trilogy it would have sold.
After hearing about how fragile and discolored the toys of our past have become I am so glad I sold and given away all the toys that I collected while growing up. I will look at and admire the old toys remembering when I owned them but I will not buy them again just to watch them decay.
@@Its.Chad. yes. Valaverse is my new crack, just like star wars and GI Joe was my old crack. Once I secure the figures I want then I start looking at other lines picking and choosing but 95% of what I buy is Valaverse.

And make it a Haslab selling each section for 500$
@@JoePal-c3n that would easily have to be done & sold as sections. Remember, a HISS - one vehicle - is a HasLab now and several hundred dollars.
